A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Roncalli Catholic Family,

It’s incredible to see just how much this community can accomplish over the course of just one year. With 2023 already in full swing, I wanted to take some time to reflect on some of the wonderful milestones our school has celebrated in 2022.

The first can be seen from the moment you step foot onto our campus. In early 2022, we announced plans to construct the Roncalli Catholic Legacy Courtyard. The courtyard recognized the legacy left behind by our Archbishop Rummel, Notre Dame Academy and Roncalli Catholic alumni. Earlier this fall, we celebrated the completion of the Legacy Courtyard with our students, highlighted by its blessing from Archbishop George Lucas.

In May, our school celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2022. This graduating class has been able to take the next exciting step in their lives with wisdom, courage and faith. Their success is a testament to the determination of our students, devotion by our faculty and staff and support from our community.

Roncalli Catholic capped off another incredible year with our fifth annual Taste of Pride fundraiser in November. Your continued support of our fundraisers and events play a critical role in advancing the mission of our school. Thank you once again and I look forward to welcoming you to Roncalli Catholic’s 34th annual Festa del Leone fundraiser on Friday, April 14, 2023.

These are just some of the highlights from an incredible year. At the center of all these milestones is you, our valued Roncalli Catholic family. On behalf of the students, faculty and staff at Roncalli Catholic, I would like to thank you for making this year so special. I can’t wait to see us carry this momentum forward into 2023.

Charting the Future

Roncalli Catholic High School is excited to unveil its new Strategic Plan aimed at advancing the school’s mission for our students, staff and community.

The school recently completed its final year of the latest strategic plan in the summer of 2021. Following the plan’s completion, the Roncalli Catholic Board of Directors and President Sean Keisling embarked on a new strategic planning journey.

The Strategic plan paves way to best position Roncalli Catholic for the future. It enhances and builds on current priorities while ensuring Roncalli Catholic stays true to it’s mission.

Over the course of several months in the fall of 2021, multiple opportunities to garner community feedback regarding the strategic planning process were utilized. Input came from several key areas of the school community, including the Board of Directors, administration, teachers, staff and families.

With this feedback in hand, key stakeholder groups representing the Roncalli Catholic community gathered for a Strategic Planning meeting in November 2021. (cont. on page 7)

Winter 2023 | 6

The meeting allowed for attendees to discuss faculty, administration and family priorities and ultimately craft the key priorities that would represent the school’s new Strategic Plan.

Those priorities include:

• Deeper Relationship with Jesus

• Teacher Excellence and Retention

• Individualized Student Learning

• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and the Dignity of the Human Person

• Advancement

• Innovative Facility and Campus

Each theme includes specific standards and benchmark indicators to ensure success over the course of the Strategic Plan’s five-year cycle.

Following the November 2021 Strategic Plan Meeting, revisions and edits were made from the Strategic Plan Committee and various small groups before a final draft was presented and received final approval from the Board of Directors in May of 2022.

“The priorities listed in the school’s new Strategic Plan will allow Roncalli Catholic to take the next step in living out its mission to serve the students, faculty, staff and community,” President Sean Keisling said.

Taste of Pride

5th annual event raises over $30,000, hosts over 150 guests

Roncalli Catholic High School celebrated the holiday season during its fifth annual Taste of Pride fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 18, raising over $30,000 to benefit the students, faculty and staff of the school.

This year, the event raised a total of $30,000 and brought in over 150 guests.

“Since its debut in 2018, we have been blessed to see the Roncalli Catholic community continue to support this incredible fundraiser,” Melissa Baumann, director of events and corporate sponsorships, said.

In addition to wine and beer samplings, this year’s Taste of Pride fundraiser included a variety of whiskey sampling stations.

Guests also sampled hors d’oeuvres provided by Pleasure Your Palate Catering.

“Whether you walked away with a new bottle of wine or one of our many wonderful raffle prizes, this year’s Taste of Pride had something for everyone,” Baumann said. “I was so excited to see the Roncalli Catholic community come together and celebrate the holiday season.”

We’d love to see you at our next event! Learn more about upcoming events at Roncalli Catholic High School by visiting https://www.roncallicatholic.org/ourschool/events.
