Comments from the Board Board members are aware of dance floor problems and have been assured by Knights of Columbus that the dance floor is resurfaced only three times each year. There is a great effort made to avoid resurfacing right before our dances. The complaints about the DJ have been taken into consideration and resolved. All proceeds from the sale of license plate covers go to scholarship money for youth; please support! The drawing for free NYE Dinner Dance ticket is occurring when you attend our fourth Saturday dance. In order to enter, you must be a member of a USA Dance Chapter. The winner receives a single free admission to the dinner dance worth $49, nontransferable. Plans for the NYE Gala are in full swing. Dance hosts are needed; a qualification letter is available on our website.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS USA Dance of Tidewater appreciates assistance from chapter members with upcoming events, helpers on committees and members to serve as assistants to our board members and officers. (757)467-3601 for more information. Other incentives for your services and volunteer work will be considered for compensation by your current officers and board members. One thing everyone could do to help out would be to print the attached flyers, and post them somewhere (at work, the base or school bulletin boards, your doctor's office, or wherever it would be COMPLETELY APPROPRIATE.

Appreciation Dinner Tidewater USA Dance Chapter shows appreciation to volunteer workers for the NYE Gala with a dinner and dance event. Cathy Fond, Dalynn Fond, Shirley Lerner, Will Gabber and Minda Vu checked tickets, held back the hordes who wanted to crash the door and worked the desk. Ed Pabalate designed the graphics; produces the professional flyers/publications, NYE Gala Brochures, advertisements for placements into magazines, the monthly dance flyers and DJed for the NYE Gala. Ed Riggs and Phil Sisk manned the reception desk area, repeatedly had to explain the “validation” process for the parking ticket and accounted for the proceeds from tickets. Phil Sisk became Master of Ceremonies at the last minute. Ed and Phil are a credit to the Richmond Chapter and the dance community. Gaile Gurrei and Linda Stevenson take charge of the reception desk area, both for monthly dances and NYE, maintain the ticket cash boxes and accounted for the proceeds. Henry Castillo assisted in the laborious and tedious labor of laying and picking up the dance floor, being a dance host (despite being ill) and continues to help at the monthly dance reception desk. Josie and Nonoy Casteillo and family assisted in laying and picking up the dance floor, centerpiece arranging and help at the monthly dance reception desk. Lee Carruth and Donna Campbell assisted with the table centerpieces until the bitter end. Jerry Smith, Steven Inn, Rocky Raquipiso, Ron Dionsio, Will Gabber and Tony Octavo (organizer) assisted in the tedious labor of laying and picking up the dance floor. There are countless jobs the board members do every year for the NYE Gala…these USA Dance Chapter members are greatly appreciated for all the help they gave to the Tidewater Chapter to make the Gala possible. Not in attendance - Dalynn Fond, Minda Vu, Ron Dionsio, Nonoy Casteillo and Susan and Marvin Simms (reservation takers and assisted with computer back-ups). All of us have talents - share yours with USA Dance!
