HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORTATION IN ROHNERT PARK!

We’re excited to share a new project that will make getting around Rohnert Park safer and easier for everyone! The City is proposing a bicycle and pedestrian overcrossing over US Highway 101 to improve access between the east and west sides of the city This project will help connect neighborhoods, schools, parks, and other community spaces.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Safer travel: A dedicated overcrossing will make it easier to cross the highway on foot or by bicycle.

Better access: It will connect people to schools, recreational areas, and nearby commercial centers.

·Improved mobility: By linking the Copeland Creek Trail and connecting to Cotati’s bike path, the project enhances overall transportation options

In 2021, the City completed a Feasibility Study funded by Measure M, and explored several possible locations After gathering input from the community and City Council, the Copeland Creek location (north of Avram Avenue) was selected as the best spot for the overcrossing The City Council also chose a stunning butterfly arch bridge design for the crossing, ensuring that it’s both functional and beautiful.

What’s next? The Project Approval & Environmental Document (PS&E) and Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) phases of the project are moving forward with federal, state, and local funds The next steps include project approval, environmental work, and plans preparation for construction which will help bring this vision to life

We want to hear from YOU as we continue shaping this project Check out the project details and share your thoughts with us!

A FRESH TASTE ON CLASSICS

Rohnert Park's culinary scene just got a delicious upgrade with the arrival of Pressed Burger in University Square! Opened on October 7, 2024, at 1451 Southwest Blvd #123, this new eatery is the brainchild of Eric Alkfof and his wife, bringing a unique blend of pressed burgers, paninis, and classic flavors to our community.

Eric Alkfof is no stranger to the restaurant world, boasting experience since 2009. When the long-standing Peppers restaurant closed its doors earlier this year, Eric saw an opportunity. "Peppers had good bones, but it needed a refresh," Eric explains. "During renovations, we thought, why not fill a gap in Rohnert Park? We don't have a dedicated pressed burger and panini place, and that’s what we wanted to bring to the table."

The location was a natural fit. "It's a great spot, and I live close by," says Eric. And with a team of eight dedicated employees, Pressed Burger is quickly becoming a local favorite.

What truly sets Pressed Burger apart is their unwavering commitment to quality. "We use only the freshest meat," Eric emphasizes. "We get deliveries from Golden Gate Meats three times a week." But the secret weapon? Their signature sauce is a closely guarded recipe known only to Eric.

"We listen to our customers," says Eric. Recognizing some customers’ desire for a classic burger, they introduced a regular hamburger, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, alongside their signature pressed creations. And for those seeking something truly special, the Tenderloin Burger, a high-quality tenderloin masterpiece for just $17, is a must-try – and a unique offering in the area.

Pressed Burger recently participated in the 16th Annual Sonoma County Restaurant Week, welcoming food enthusiasts from across the region and showcasing their culinary prowess. The response was overwhelmingly positive, solidifying their place in Sonoma County's vibrant food scene. Eric and his team are passionate about sharing their love for great food with the community. "We want to get the word out," Eric says with a smile. So, next time you're craving a delicious, fresh burger or panini, head over to University Square and experience the difference at Pressed Burger. You won't be disappointed! There's a new burger sheriff in town, and their name is Pressed Burger!
