Greetings,
Welcome to the first Impact Report for Rogers State University’s President’s Leadership Class. The report highlights the many projects and activities the students engaged in and achieved throughout the academic year.
The year commenced with the development of several goals that served as the foundation for our activities. The goals included: 1) engaging with local non-profits, 2) developing relationships with leaders in our community, and 3) implementing more campus activities
Our program kicked off with family groups ‘adopting’ local nonprofits. Each student group collaborated with the executive director to develop and complete various projects. PLC students attended events, worked with marginalized youth, helped with fundraisers, and collected resources to support agency missions. In April, during National Volunteer Month, we held the first PLC Cares Day, where students completed various projects to support twelve different community agencies.
In September, we launched an Excellence in Leadership Series. Selected speakers encouraged students to examine what makes an effective leader, learn how to build a healthy organizational climate, and take steps to overcome organizational roadblocks. Excellence in Leadership Series speakers included Steven Burrus, Kevin Easley Jr , Barby Myers, Kendrick Oakley, Sara Wallace, and Austin McIlroy.
We also introduced the first RSU Hillcat Hoedown, a new campus-wide event that included a mechanical bull, line dancing, and live music by The Bison, a Claremore-based band Student organizations also fundraised by grilling out and hosting carnivalesque games like the fishbowl toss.
It was a busy year with several new events and activities I could not be prouder of this year’s Class

A Letter from the PLC President
The President's Leadership Class this year has provided a great deal of service to the RSU Claremore Campus and the greater community of Claremore. PLC members are among the many students that are here to make this community greater. With PLC students involved in dozens of student organizations and local non-profits, our mission of leading RSU and the surrounding areas toward success has never been more apparent. This year specifically, PLC has hosted several campus events, led leadership discussions for RSU students, and aided in an abundance of community service events for non-profits both in Claremore and the surrounding areas. This spirit of leadership and service is what leads PLC, and by extension, the greater RSU body towards success.
Sincerely,

Blake Couch
