Rocky Hill School’s campus is set along the Potowomut River and Narragansett Bay in Potowomut Neck. This 84-acre campus offers convenient West Bay waterfront access in an idyllic New England setting. Uniquely positioned to offer clients a range of venue options, Rocky Hill School is ideal for corporate, private, and athletic events. From the waterfront lawn of Hopelands, a federal-style building on the National Historic Registry, to the state-of-the-art Flynn Academic Center, to some of Rhode Island’s best grass playing fields, Rocky Hill School offers an array of options for all event needs.

Rocky Hill School offers access to a total of four playing fields which can be used for field hockey, soccer, or lacrosse and two additional field spaces. Four fields have water views and two are located in the inner campus. All of the playing fields are expertly maintained grass fields with built-in irrigation. Bleacher seating is available at each field.

The campus also offers four outdoor tennis courts with an adjoined outdoor basketball court.

Access to rest rooms in the school gymnasium can be arranged subject to availability. An outdoor portable bathroom is available by the waterfront playing fields.

SHARPE GYMNASIUM Sharpe Gymnasium provides year-round indoor space with two retractable basketball hoops, four practice hoops, and an electronic scoreboard with timer. The facility includes one full-size basketball court, bleachers, a half-court curtain divider, sound system, and rest rooms. Locker rooms are not available to the public.

RETREATS & MEETINGS

Flynn Academic Center offers businesses and organizations a unique yet functional space for meetings and retreats. The building offers wireless internet access, and each classroom is equipped with ceiling-mounted projection units, retractable screens, and whiteboards. Seating in all classrooms center around an oval table, which serves as an ideal platform for meetings and discussions for up to 15 people. Science labs offer the same amenities as classrooms, but include three break-out stations traditionally used for lab work. Flynn Lecture Hall and Nautilus are ideal for larger group gatherings and the Meeting Lounge is a comfortable, yet functional space for smaller sessions.

ceiling-mounted projector, a retractable screen, and is outfitted for video-conferencing. The lecture hall can also be reconfigured with 8-foot tables.

• Flynn Nautilus offers an open area ideal for group gatherings, announcements, and small

receptions. Built-in seating can accommodate 125 guests.

• The Meeting Lounge seats up to 30 and is furnished with fine leather furniture and an oval

conference table. This room does not include projection equipment or white boards.

EVENTS & ASSEMBLIES

Campbell Center is centrally located on the campus and serves as the School’s cafeteria and auditorium. The main assembly space can be used for large groups for a stage performance or for a seated, catered event.

The stage offers an ideal location for performances, lectures, and presentations. An audio system is installed in the space as well as ample lighting. A lecturn can be provided at no additional cost. Assembly chairs are available for a fee and the space can accommodate 250 people sitting in rows. For those wishing to host a seated event, the space can seat approximately 150 guests around tables.

Adjacent to the assembly space, Campbell Conference Room accommodates 30 people seated at tables or up to 50 sitting in chairs and is equipped with a projection screen. The space makes a convenient service bar for catered events.

Hopelands, the original, historic home of the Rocky Hill School estate whose proprietors include

well-known Rhode Island families such as the Green, Goddard, Brown, and Ives families, sits on the edge of a magnificent waterfront lawn adorned with mature landscaping, a handcrafted stone wall, and unparalleled access to the Green River and Narragansett Bay. This bucolic setting provides a glorious back drop for any event including: clam bakes, family reunions, social and corporate events, and wedding ceremonies. The lawn accomodates large tented events and the Hopelands portico is ideal for for ceremonies, speaking engagements, or small cocktail parties.

Entertainment: Outdoor events are not permitted to use amplified music that exceeds the City of Warwick maximum permissible noise level of 60 decibels. Amplified music can be played in all indoor locations, allowing for outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions.

Catering: Class P licensed caterer required for all events.

Caterer must be on the School-approved vendor list, or written permission must be obtained. Caterers must remove all trash from the premises.

Rocky Hill School’s 84-acre campus offers several areas ideal for outdoor activities, complete with the serene backdrop of Narragansett Bay. The beach area with kayak and sailboat launch is a great choice for waterfront activities. The spacious outdoor Amphitheater provides a unique gathering place for demonstrations, lectures and more. The 10,000 square foot Garden Classroom is a beautiful choice for smaller gatherings and ceremonies. GARDEN CLASSROOM The Garden Classroom is a 10,000 square foot living classroom with nine garden beds, an open field space, and a central patio area. Complete with flowers, plants, vegetables, and fruit trees, the space offers a unique location site for field trips and small ceremonies.

WATERFRONT & BEACH Rocky Hill School provides direct access to the Potowomut River, which opens up into Narragansett Bay. Groups who wish to launch kayaks or sailboats from the shoreline are treated to a manageable access point for seafarers of all skill levels.
