Born in Mumbai India, Dinesh D’Souza, named a leading authority on international issues, according to The World Affairs Council. He will be speaking at the Hilton Garden Inn in the city of Victorville, hosted by the HiDesert Republican Women, Federated, the Victorville Republican Club and the Don Ferrarese Foundation. The Hilton Garden Inn, is located on 12603 Mariposa Road, Victorville, on May 24 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. This event is the brainchild of wellrespected conservative stalwart in the Victor Valley, Valerie Emick, President of the Hi-Desert Republican Women,

The Psychology Club and Music Club at Victor Valley College (VVC) aimed to reduce stress amongst students with the Music and Meditation event that took place March 28th from 11am to 12pm in front of the Gazebo. after the yoga session, students were welcomed to grab fruit provided and sign up for either club. The advising faculty of the Psychology Club, April Garcia, was amazed at how quickly the event came together. “The entire event came from one two-hour meeting! They [the officers] have their subcommittees and are continuously working to figure things out.” Garcia says the club makes her job easy because, “There’s a strong bond of trust within the group.” Psychological research shows that meditation, music, and healthy eating habits are techniques that help reduce stress. On April 25, 2019, VVC's Communication Center, Communication Studies Department and the Assorted Student Body will be hosting the Spring 2019 Speech contest. Students of VVC are encouraged to compete for one of four cash prizes. These prizes will be: first place $200, second place $150, third place $100, and fourth place $50. Those that would like to participate can pick up and submit their application to the Communication Center (Building 40, Room 213). Applications are due April 4, 2019 by 4:00 pm. What have you learned from your experience at VVC?” This question will be what the contestants are being asked to prepare their speech around. The time limit for each speech is 3-5 minutes. Each participant will need to present their prepared speech before the day of the actual contest in the Communication Center on April 16th or 17th by appointment only.
