ABOUT

Our Mission:

Roan Mountain Magazine is dedicated to celebrating our local mountain community through articles and features of importance to local residents. By focusing on the heritage and history of the area and its people, we hope to preserve and pass along the positive values and traditions handed down over generations. By including our love of the outdoors, local activities and lifestyles, we will endeavor to provide interesting content with something for everyone, in each issue.

Our Editorial Pillars: Community Heritage

The Particulars:

Roan Mountain Magazine will be published monthly and distributed at various locations throughout town and the surrounding communities, free to readers and supported by our advertisers.

Content will be centered around our mission statement and our editorial pillars with regular columns, features and articles, supported heavily by stellar photography and an attractive layout design.

The magazine will engage directly with the community by including news and information from our advertisers and community partners, as well as interviews with residents and area experts, ride-alongs, calls for submissions, reader photos and memorabilia, and more.

No politics, no drama. We will strive to be an upbeat, positive, informative and entertaining publication, while preserving our history and heritage in print.

Editorial Staff:

Writing, photography, graphic design, marketing, whatever needs to be done! A newcomer to Roan Mountain, from south Georgia, Amy loves the outdoors and everything in it. She lives in town with her German shepherd Remington, two terrorist cats, and an ever-growing flock of chickens.

Noah was born, raised and still resides in Roan Mountain, as evidenced by his accent. His day job is construction sales and he’s a pastor at Roan Mountain Free Holiness church, but his favorite job titles are husband (to Kalee) and daddy (to their two children). In his free time he can be found in the woods looking for critters.

Photography, writing, advertising, social media, promoting, anything that needs to be done, Christian wears many hats in his field of expertise. Born and raised in Roan Mountain, Christian loves motorsports, the outdoors, and spending time with his wife Melania, and daughter Laney.

Faith will contribute nature and wildlife photography. She lives on Roan Mountain and is inspired by and in awe of its natural beauty and magic. When not hiking in the woods and/or taking pictures of nature, she enjoys visits from her four adult sons.

Because we are a monthly publication rather than daily or weekly, readers and contributors are encouraged to consider the publication schedule before contributing or recommending content.
