Bio Summary Matt Choi is the founder and chief strategist of Certus Trading, a trading education company established in 2011. Matt is a Chartered Market Technician, receiving his certification from the CMT Association. Having honed his approach towards trading over the years, he now uses his hard-earned insights at Certus Trading to educate new investors to trade with confidence to achieve sustainable profits.
Committed to Education and Student Success Having learned trading by using his own money and working for years trying different trading strategies, Matt Choi now dedicates his time to leading Certus Trading and helping investors avoid common pitfalls, while earning consistent profits through trading stocks, ETFs, currencies, options, commodities and financial futures. To further educate investors, in 2014, Matt Choi collaborated with Brian Tracy and others to co-author the bestselling book, “The Winning Way.� In the book, Matt describes the exact mindset that is crucial for trading success. Originally, Matt did well trading during the dot com boom, but as the recession hit, he lost his profits and struggled to find the strategies that would bring him success. From
the time he was studying business at McMaster University, he was creating algorithms and developing his own programs, but still did not see the fruits of his labors. Matt was fortunate enough, however, to meet his mentor, the late George Fontanills, who was able to help him change his trading perspective. Matt decided to scrap everything he knew about trading and listen to Fontanills. By developing a new mindset towards trading and targeting asset areas that were right for him, Matt soon achieved the trading success that had been eluding him. From this came the desire to help others find the right mindset and personal strengths to achieve sustainable profits. Certus Trading was born from this desire and now assists many students in learning the intricacies of trading.
Interests Outside of Work Matt Choi lives in Toronto, Ontario, with his wife and young son. He enjoys traveling the world to see new places and finding exotic new cuisine to sample. An avid soccer lover, Matt now spends his free time watching championship games rather than playing since he had a knee injury.
