PrepBoardersinYears5and6havetheirownwingofthehouse.Theyhavealargefivebeddormitory,girlssharea commonroomandhavetheirownresidentHouseparent.

BoardersinYears7-9arelookedafterbytheirresidentHousemistressandherteam Thehouseiscosyandpupils sharedormitoriesoftwoorthreepeople.Eachpupilhastheirownprivatespac companyofotherboarders.

Years10-11

Theboarderssharetwinstudybedrooms.Alltheroomsarespaciousandcomfortablyfurnished,andeveryoneis encouragedtopersonalisetheirownspaceswithposters,photos,andfairylights(iftheysowish).

Aspupilsmovethroughtheschoolandgrowinconfidenceandindependence,theymightthenchoosetoboardmore often,sothattheycansharetheboardingexperiencewiththeirfriendsandspendmoretimeontheirco-curricular interests.

AsaFlexi-boarder,pupilsstayatschoolfortwoconsecutivenightseveryweek.Theyhaveadedicatedspaceinthe housewheretheycanleavetheirpossessionsevenwhentheyarenotstayingovernight.Pupilscanalsochooseto board,ifspaceallows,overtheweekendifthereisaparticularactivityinwhichtheywanttotakepart.

WeeklyboardingisbecomingincreasinglypopularwithfamilieswholiveinLondonorjustabittoofarawayfortheir childrentobedaypupils.Itmeansthatpupilscangetthemostoutoftheeducationalandco-curricularopportunities fromMondaytoFriday,andthenreturnhometootherfriendsandfamilyattheweekends.

InternationalboardersplayanimportantpartinthelifeofRMSforGirls.Currently,over15nationalitiesare representedintheboardingcommunity,witharoundhalfofourboardersjoiningusfromoverseas.

Itcanbeadauntingprospectmoving,sometimeshalfwayacrosstheworld,toanewcountry,andanewschoolfullof newpeople.Youcanbeassuredthatyourchildwillbegiveneverypossiblesupporttosettleintothecommunityas quicklyaspossibleandinnotimeatallRMSwillbetheirhome-from-home.

RMSisideallyplacedforinternationalpupilsandtheirfamilies.Theschoolissituatedcloseto(23km)Heathrow Airport,andiswithinwalkingdistancetotherailwaystationwhereCentralLondoncanbereachedin22minutes.The enclosed,safe300+acrecampusprovidesstunningfacilitiesandtranquilsurroundingsinwhichtoliveandlearn.

WEEKENDSATRMS

TheWeekendProgrammeatRMSisfullandvaried,anditcaterstotheinterestsandagesofthe pupils–therearetripsuptomuseumsandthemeparksinLondon,sportingactivitiessuchas golfandandice-skating,andcraftsessionslikepotterypaintingandchocolate-makingtoname justafew.BoardersatRMSeventruntheirownfestivalinthesummercalledGarthella.London isonlya22minutetrainjourney...therearesomanyoptions!
