Intelligent technologies grant the MTL device multifunctional characteristics; its running system allows a large variety of signals that can be selected and programmed with different emission modes. The device itself can provide: â&#x20AC;˘ the classic round luminous signs (red, yellow, green); â&#x20AC;˘ arrows that indicate travel directions; â&#x20AC;˘ pedestrian crossing indication; â&#x20AC;˘ flashing signs indicating to pay attention. The MTL device is managed by control stations and, by means of a dedicated system, it offers a wide range of new functions, besides the different types of signaling, allowing: â&#x20AC;˘ increasing the size of the luminous sign (red and green); â&#x20AC;˘ static/dynamic mode signal emission; â&#x20AC;˘ visualizing of any kind of icon, signal and/or warning; â&#x20AC;˘ diversified signaling times planning; â&#x20AC;˘ total functionsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; planning; â&#x20AC;˘ real time operating control; â&#x20AC;˘ almost no maintenance required. The possibility to expand the dimension of the signs allows the best visibility of the signaling in all directions. The new traffic lights device becomes an actual digital network, controlled and managed by centralized systems. The software will allow the single or multiple running of the devices adapting their functions to the different logistic circumstances. All the devices network is constantly monitored in order to check their efficiency, to modify their operative mode, to detect possible malfunctioning, to assure immediate to-the-spot maintenance. Facing extraordinary events and/or emergency circumstances, it will be possible to intervente promptly from the control room and all MTL devices in the danger area will indicate to road users all necessary warnings to limit risks and inconveniences. MIT allows to choose signal transitions either in static mode or dynamic together with the expected duration of the signal in case of long waiting. Pending the necessary regulatory provision, MTL avoids to keep the engine running with positive advantages as for fuel consupmpion and air pollution. By pedestrian crossing points, MTL provides very accurate information advising, with animated signaling, the correct behavior to be held.
