STRATEGIC PLANNING UNDERWAY
STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
This school year, ROBS embarked on a journey to create the School’s next strategic plan. The strategic plan serves as the roadmap for the entire ROBS organization: We do what we say we’re going to do. Last fall, we began by seeking input from literally hundreds of people—parents, employees, board members, alumni, church members, and even students. Every group was asked how the School needs to evolve to best prepare students for the future, as well as what aspects of the School they hope will never change. Out of this extensive process, four priorities for improvement emerged. Because good strategic plans begin with exploration rather than concrete statements, the priorities include questions as starting points.

Differentiation: How do we adapt subject area content, teaching processes, classroom tools, and the learning environment to stretch each student to his/her full potential recognizing the uniqueness of each learner’s gifts and abilities? (See “What Is Your Genius” for a deeper look into differentiation.) Diversity & Inclusion: How do we nurture a culture of inclusivity, honoring the humanity and dignity of each student? Wellness: How do we advance programming that promotes emotional, intellectual, physical, environmental, social, occupational, and social wellness? Programming: How do we accomplish the above initiatives recognizing the practical limits of time (academic calendar) and space (ROBS’ campus)?
