Festive cheer on the banks of the Lennon
Ramelton preparing Forget Lapland! Ramelton is the place to be this Christmas. Over the past number of years, Ramelton has been to the fore of Christmas celebrations in Donegal and this year is no different. Known as one of the country’s best Christmas lighting display, Ramelton has continusly punched above its weight and this year has been no different. A team of dedicated volunteers
have spent day and night on the streets of Ramelton for the past few weeks erecting the Christmas lights display. This display is very unique to the town as all its special features are handmade within the community by a team of dedicated volunteers and funded by the local community. After the major success of last year’s switch-on by Robert Mizzell, the many who gathered
were not to be disappointed this year, as Jason McCahill entertained the crowd before handing the mic over to one of Ireland’s top country music stars and the star of last year’s switch-on – Robert Mizzell. Robert and his band played a two-hour concert in Gambles Square, before Ramelton’s stretch of Christmas lights was switched on by local hero, Ciaran Mur-
ray. Robert and his band played the night away after the big switch-on. If Robert was not enough then you’ll love what Ramelton has on offer in the run up to Christmas. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the arrival of Ramelton’s very own Coco-Cola truck. A must see in anybody’s book, the Coca-Cola truck will brighten up Ramelton this December.
