BREEDER’S GUARANTEE: All cattle sell with the responsible Breeder's Guarantee of Satisfaction.  All Bulls are guaranteed breeders.  The seller will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for more than the original selling price of any bull sold in this sale.  All animals sell under the Terms & Conditions set forth by the Canadian Angus Association.

CATTLE INSPECTION: All carry permanent identity tags. All shall be available for inspection prior to the sale.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

INSURANCE: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s hammer falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from the appointed representatives on Sale Day.

Thomas John Spady March 29, 1935 - September 26, 2023

Tom was a true cowboy, cattleman and family man. He loved the outdoors, riding his horse to check the cows that he truly admired and he usually had his faithful dog following along too. He enjoyed team roping, many brandings and his time spent in the mountains.

Tom had a strong eye for good cattle and started the Rivercrest herd in 1955. In the early 70’s he decided he needed to build this very building, and start an Angus Production sale. In 1975 he headed up the first Annual Spady Production

Sale wiith his dad Jack and brothers Roger and Lorne. The next year Harold also joined in and it was a full family affair. They went until 1984 which was the last Production sale, as most of the kids were into rodeo, hockey and other activities. When he wasn’t looking after his cattle he was hunting, fishing or roping.

Tom valued his time spent with family and friends whether it was playing cards, watching his kids and grandkids in various sports and activities. He went to many a hockey game, rodeo, 4-H event or school sport to watch all his grand children. Tom passed away Sept 26 aftter a long battle with Parkinsons. Tom was a man who had true grit and integrity. He loved to ranch and also lived for the small quiet things in life, like sitting on lookout points overlooking the Battle River. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten by everyone that loved him and called him their friend.

We bought No Doubt at the 2017 Peak Dot Spring Bull Sale. He was our top pick of the entire selection. No Doubt ws the second highest seller of his sire group, topping out at $37,500. He is powerful in every dimension and demands your attention with his thickness, length, great muscle expression, great foot and the most gentle disposition, all which he passes on with great consistency. His daughters are very shapely with beautiful udders. We just can’t get enough of them. We believe he is one of the best curve bending bulls still today, that carries a moderate calving ease package. He produced our all time high seller going to LLB Angus for $29,000 in 2019.

Aftershock was the heaviest yearling bull of that year with an actual weight of 1465 lbs on Jan 10, 2022. A calving ease pedigree, blended wih superior phenotype and performance. He walks on a big solid foot and flawless leg structure, and is backed by a strong cow family. We are extremely happy with his sons and can hardly wait for his daughters to become mommas. He did have a minor injury last spring that slowed him down a bit, but since then he has never looked back.
