TRAVEL

Our first ever edition I am so beyond excited for this, it has been months in the making, but years as an idea in my head. In a few pages you’ll read about why I’m creating this magazine, what you can expect from the future editions, and a general overview introduction of RISE… but for now, I want to welcome you to THIS edition. Bali.
Bali to me had always been somewhere just ‘spoken about’. Somewhere a lot of my friends visited when ‘backpacking’, some girls on instagram had moved there and were ‘living their best life’ and I associated it with treehouses overlooking crystal blue oceans, temples and also beach clubs?! Quite the variety.
Well, variety is exactly what I found
In my opinion, whatever holiday you ’ re after, Bali is the home to make that happen
I saw an advertisement for a weeklong event happening on this unique island… villa included, activities all planned for you… a way to see Bali in a short space of time but with 100 other guests
I quickly booked, and decided I was going to go out 2 weeks before (Bali is a whole day and a half in travel from the UK, plus 7 hours ahead!) so a week seemed too short! (I still stand by that!)
Originally going with my then boyfriend, and then not I thought I could ask my sister, who only lives in Australia (everyone you meet in Bali is probably australian , it’s so close for them!) Plus, I hadn’t seen her in THREE YEARS
So off I went, two weeks solo, the last week (that activity week!), my sister flew over!
And wow, Bali exceeded every expectation and more Even though I was originally meant to be going with my ex, I soon realised, I was meant to go to Bali alone For my growth, connections, and more The trip was a pivotal turning point in my future journey.
I met friends for life I experienced new things I made memories I will never ever forget and despite Bali being one of over 10 trips in 2022 so far it was different in every way
Bali reminded me how much more there is out there, in every way. That life is truly for living It is for making these incredible experiences, for belly laughing until you physically cannot anymore
Now, was it Bali? Or was it the people I met? It was both It was the whole aura the island made me feel and then with that, the people I met along the way. I have never felt more at home in another country (except Miami.. More on that in next months edition)
Bali gave me lessons I didn’t know I needed. It served a purpose I didn’t realise was even needing to be found?!
Therefore I am SO SO SO excited to cover Bali in this edition. You will find the tea on where to stay in different areas, what to pack, where to eat, what to do as well as insights into all of the above from several people that have been blessed to live there.
I hope you enjoy this edition And thank you for being here
Lucy x
Well, here we are. RISE. First edition. Rise is a magazine for the woman that desires to RISE, in every aspect of their life. Raising their vibrations through surrounding oneself with luxury.
Why luxury? Because when we allow ourselves to deserve these opulent experiences, views, material items... we are allowing ourselves to truly see our worth... to understand whatever we want to wake up to in the morning, where ever we want to explore this beautiful world... you can, and you do it just how you want to, as extravagant, or as simplistically beautiful as you want.
Focusing on luxury travel, elevated experiences and insights into entrepreneurship/business, RISE is designed for the people that desire more. My goal with this magazine, is to be so much more than a magazine. Rise is a community of like minded people that are hungry for success, but not the typical success, the success that means you ’ re living your soul fulfilled, aligned, all round happy life.
And trust me, that’s a journey, but let’s be in it together.
Every edition will focus on a main location/theme. As well as go to fits for women in business, women working remotely, women working from the beach and so on Plus, raw interviews, because the only thing we are being here, is 100% authentic Whether that’s a beautiful lady talking about her experience backpacking the world as a solo traveler, or how not putting boundaries in place for another incredible woman almost led to major burn out (and her lessons and how you can avoid that!)
Girl, this magazine is here FOR YOU Every page is curated with you in mind
Now, a note from me, about me, and for you. I’m Lucy and since I can remember, I have loved writing. But more than that, I love travel (I’ve built a whole business around allowing me and others to travel more and be paid whilst doing so!), but what I truly love more, is supporting other women to believe in themselves, that they are worthy of whatever life they want for themselves, and that they CAN make it happen. For me, all I wanted was a career that would allow me to travel the world, without having to save up first, and budget when there.
At 19 years old that’s what happened I started a business that enabled me to earn money from travel, but actually build up a business within the travel industry itself.. The two things I wanted came together.
And 4 years later, 24 years old, that business has grown to multiple six figures, allowed me to also coach women in different industries, see little old me in countries I would only have dreamt about going to and help thousands along the way.
As of last August, I am officially a ‘nomad’? I am not even sure if that’s the correct term for my crazy lifestyle. Miami is my base yet the world is my home, after deciding to leave England and step into a new chapter of my life. It’s exciting, not knowing where I will be, yet also being able to say " yes... miami you are home for the next few months" But more on Miami and my story in next months magazine… lots to unpack there. (Literally still, lots).
So for me, there wasn’t a better time to get this magazine out, it’s been on my to do list for literally, years.
So a little about me Aside from travelling I love luxury I love candles and wax melts (when I was moving out my house in the UK I realised I had over 200 wax melts. Oop., they’re now distributed to loving homes across the UK, including my sisters and my wax lady!)
I love Formula 1, and generally anything to do with motorsports. I love cars and you’ll hear a lot about Grand Prix's and other racing events within RISE
I spend most of my weekends at tech house events. I love techno so so so much. I am either listening to techno, bad bunny, Taylor Swift (in particular Spotify's playlist 'Tay's songs to scream your heart out too', or ABBA NO inbetween (I can't stand pop)
I love colour, wearing it and seeing it. Block colours being in fashion, literally makes me so happy. My favourite is orange, but my fave combo to wear is pink and green (my branding colours for @lucylianarose!).
I love reading, I love history and culture.
I am a wine lover Red wine (any), or Sauvignon blanc My goal one day is to own a vineyard. Also, you won’t see my at an airport without a glass of fizz, it’s my go to routine. Bags checked in. Bar. Fizz. It’s me celebrating myself about to go on a new adventure and toasting to gratitude
I think that’s enough about me.
As I say, remain spicy. Did I mention I love anything hot?!
Within Rise, we want to showcase incredible destinations around the world, so each edition will focus on one area/country/island or location theme! After visiting and falling in love with Bali, Indonesia, I knew I wanted to feature it first. I could write an entire magazine, book, 100 page essay on Bali and all the different places, so within this I have highlighted the areas I recomend most, yet also each one different in it's own way
So some facts on Bali It is located in Indonesia It has four islands (as well as being an island itself). These are Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan. From the UK it takes approximately 17 hours, and about 20 hours from Los Angeles.
Plus, if you ' re wondering when to go, you'll find mostly sunny conditions in May, June and July, although it is hot all year round, you'll experience more rain and tropical storms over the winter months
CANGGU
Ok, so let me start by saying, on a personal note, Canggu had my heart It's known for having 'everything'. Digital nomads, yogi's, surfers as well as the cool organic cafes, the more laid back yet busy nightlife.
For me, Canggu is 'the base'. It is where I would live if I lived in Bali (maybe I will one day?), it had everything and I felt myself constantly pulled back to it whilst I was exploring other locations in Bali.
Canggu itself stretches between Kerobokan and Echo Beach Berawa Beach within this welcomes surfers, and a little less busy than the busy beaches towards the west
For a beginner surfer like me it was ideal
Where To Stay :
$ Farm Hostel this beautiful hostel is dorm only, and recomended if you want a beautifully aesthetic looking stay, and is perfect if you want to party (you will always find people in this hostel to go out with, just head towards the bar!...).
A note from Lucy... The Farm was the first place I arrived at on this island, and it was my favourite. The people I met, the workers especially, made my stay so incredible, and I wouldn't think of another hostel in the whole of Bali I would recommend more than this! Also it was a 10 minute walk to the beach if I walked FAST! But the location was perfect for spas, cafes etc
$ The Palms, Canggu Super affordable, clean basic hotel Not central Canggu but walking distance!
Citadines Bali
Aston Canggu
UMA
Ametis Villa
Canggu is full of artistic, organic cafes as well as restaurants What I soon realised as well was a lot of the restaurants turned into the busiest party places, on different days of the week!
I am going to start of with cute cafes, mainly focusing on the best to co work, as well as co working specific places, and then cute cafes just to wind down!
Tropical Nomad light, airy and appealing, Tropical is a digital nomad hub in the centre of Canggu. They have a super cute garden within too, and open 24 hours for you night owls. Dojo Connect, Collaborate, Work & Surf (as they say themselves ) plus, they have a pool!
B Work it's so aesthetic You need to go
Amolas Cafe open air dream. Dopio Cafe AMAZING FOOD Nude Chilled Plus indoor space with AC!
Copenhagen Popular & well known for a reason!
Revolver the best coffee I have had in Canggu I am not alone with this opinion
Crate Cafe Delicious menu filled with goodness
La Brisa You have to go here for sunset. Immaculate vibes. Pool...
Luigis Go on a monday if you want pizza and then tech house vibes Obviously I was here every Monday
St Tropez more expensive, but incredible food and sunset (located within Finns beach club). Lolas Mexican. It is CRAZY on a Tuesday.
Now, you may be going to Bali to live longer term, you may be going as part of your travels or you may have no desire to go at all (I hope I can change your mind)
Whichever one you are, you may be thinking, what else is there to do? Or what could convince me to go?
In bali, there is everything.
Here are the gyms I would suggest I personally went to Body Factory, it was great for meeting people, however it is expensive, I paid around £100 for a week alone. It does include access to the outside pool area, ice baths and sauna, which are a great place for both socialising and relaxing I spent hours there It is also full of 'heavy weight lifters' ( I couldn't think of the best term!) so may be intimidating to some!
Another highly recomended gym is Avenue fitness and is much more affordable (around £10 for a day pass!).
Also if you ' re a CrossFit lover, try Wanderlust
The one thing, no one can dislike, and no matter how many we see. We always are in awe
Canggu has some great sunset spots along the beach
A super chilled place to watch the sunset would be Beach Bums or Sunset Point, both casual restaurants perfect for taking in that view
Others would include, but not limited to (there's many spots) The Lawn (also a popular day club and also known to host lots of live music events!),
Canggu is home to some world famous beach clubs You have probably seen these names on Instagram, or heard them flying around from friends that have visited, and some, just have to be experienced, at least once.
One of these is Finns
Finns Beach Club is an incredible, ocean front venue, occasionally hosting live dj's but always hosting an incredible party, especially on weekends. Going as a group makes the experience more affordable, as prices are higher than you may find elsewhere. 4 pools, 9 bars, a VIP section AND home to St Tropez restaurant (mentioned earlier), this beach club truly does offer it all Oh and their happy hour, is dangerous buy two for one, on even bottles of wine
Another is ATLAS. Atlas is BRAND NEW, as in, they completed the build whilst I was still there in July, and we thankfully were able to experience it on our final night
Now Atlas, is huge You can see in the image just how big it really is...
The beds seem to stretch for miles and we found we felt quite far away from the main area/dancefloor But it was still super fun
Also popular is Mari Beach Club and I am obsessed with the aesthetic here! Again, you ' re likely going to be paying for a bed here (most beach clubs in Bali have a minimum spend).
Found south of the island, Uluwatu is home to stunning beaches, and incredible waves, that's why you'll find it's a surfers paradise.
If you ' re looking to chase those waves, this is it. Home to several surf camps (DreamSea being a popular one), it also features some incredible party spots too, and it's famous landmark the cliff top temple
About an hour from Canggu, Uluwatu is not one to miss. You don't need to stay there long, or even be based there (however I would recomend at least 3 nights) if you ' re not surfing
Pink Coco is a vibe. Even the name is. I mean, it's all pink for a start?! The location of this boutique beauty is also conveniently five minutes from the beach and in the middle of all the cafes and shops
Mahi Mahi offers luxury suites, villas and beach shacks. Every detail is beautiful, calming and immediately makes you feel at peace. I mean, it's hard to not feel completely in your element here. If I was you, I would opt for the oceanfront shack (see right)
Next is Uluwatu's Anantara You may have heard of the world famous brand before, and this one is next level for its unrivalled beauty and views, described as a cliffside sanctuary by reviews.
Now if you want to splurge, and we are all for that around here, because (we deserve it right?!) then check out the Ungasan Clifftop resort It hosts several villas within a gated community, each with a unique design. You will truly experience an exclusive experience.
Another ultra luxurious option would be Six Senses, another brand known globally for providing guests with a five star experience
Pink Coco, Uluwatu Mahi Mahi Beach ShackUluwatu is extremely popular amongst surfers, and is home to many popular 'surf camps ' from beginners, to pros However, Uluwatu has something for everyone
First, lets start with partying...
Savaya Beach Club is a huge day and night venue and this summer alone has showcased the likes of Black Coffee, Gordo & Jamie Jones
Another is Single Fins, a popular place to continue dancing until the early hours.
And we can't go without mentioning Ulu Cliffhouse, a clifftop oasis that is especially lively on Sundays
Oneeighty Day Club is also a seafront paradise not to be missed.
Now Food?! Every new place I go, food is always on the mind. 1 2 3.
Coco & Poke poke/salad bowls Mana unbeatable views and a classy decor
El Kabran beach club and Spanish restaurant!
Also on the 'to do' list should be a visit to Uluwatu Temple It sits alongside Tanah Lot in Canggu as well as Para Ulun Danu Beratan near Munduk as some of the most famous on the island, and the kecak fire dance is a must see.
You may also want to join a surf/yoga retreat, even if you have never done it before, Uluwatu is the perfect opportunity to soak in the ultimate zen vibes on offer
A great yoga practice is Yin Yoga, and is held at YinSide studio!
Ubud has been included in my top 3 bali locations because it truly is different Ubud is located deeper into the middle of Bali, entering you into a tropical jungle paradise.
It's a location you should definitely make time for on your trip!
Boasting 5 star accommodation such as the Ritz Carlton & Four Seasons, it is also very possible to find luxury at more reasonable prices too.
We stayed in the beautiful Sankara Suites and villas, a more mid range choice, but still just as beautiful The spa is worth visiting too
Ubud is home to that famous 'swing' picture you'll have seen on socials, and it is actually possible to visit many different swings in different locations.
Alas Haram Swing is about 20 minutes from central Ubud and as well as the swing, it offers many other instagram opportunities, from a glass floor viewpoint, to nests high up in the trees
You can also try the famous Luwak coffee here (coffee made from an animals erm...), well you will find out.
You also want to check out Cretya Ubud, their luxury beach club with several bed reservation options, a restaurant with unparraled views, and pools that look like they overflow alike to a waterfall!
A visit to the Monkey Forest is also essential, but be careful of your belongings!
The ancient Goa Gajah Temple (Elephant Cave) is so unique, you need to cast eyes on it yourself, and admire the beautiful carvings that date back to the 11th century!
Digital Nomads. A nomad, by definition... has no home. Originally travelling from place to place to find fresh pasture for their livestock. I like to think of todays digital nomad as the same, moving around, in search of new inspiration, new culture, new locations and new opportunities, whilst behind a digital movement/career/way to fund this nomadic lifestyle and their daily needs.
In todays society we are hearing the term more and more, people are becoming digital nomads every single day, and having the option to choose where they are waking up to. The snow? The mountains? It allows people to still continue to create an income, whilst having the option to travel all over the globe.
Once Upon A Time, a digital nomad was often someone that was able to create their own business, maybe through content creation, online marketing etc, however nowadays so many industries are realising they can still excel online, leading to a huge rise in digital nomads in all sorts of positions!
For me my 'digital nomad' journey started because I already was able to run travel business online. It made sense for me to use the product I had (travel) and take my laptop with me.
More and more people, like me, want the flexibility that comes with remote work, and gone are the judgemental days (for most anyway), that a real job involves 9 5 as usual hours and behind a desk If that's your thing, it's your thing, and some excel and love their career that doesn't involve travelling and being location independent, how amazing! But, some do want that freedom That was me
As we see an increase in more seeking this sort of lifestyle, let's look at trends. People were being 'nomads' before the pandemic, but after many businesses being able to take their work online, and very successfully (often seeing a rise in productivity and results), people were more open to this new age way of working, and continued to do so long after the world opened up gradually.
There are many benefits of this sort of path. But there are also downfalls and thinks to note. Things I didn't prepare for, and things I would want to share with others.
One amazing benefit, is you ' re deciding, you are officially the CEO of your own life, and look at you go... creating your own reality in front of you!
We can decide if we want to travel somewhere with lower living costs, or if we want to go bounce. But since I packed my house up, and yes, right now I am in Miami (a lot more expensive than the UK!), but I know I can travel to another country, pay a fifth of the rent, and save money or spend it elsewhere. We have choices.

DIGITAL NOMAD.. INCOME STREAMS WEBINAR. ONE TOPIC IN RISE'S FREE EVENT...
NOVEMBER
GMT.
You're also in charge if you need to make a change. I love Miami, like so much, but I love being able to decide if I want to work/live elsewhere for a few weeks. A change of scenery and location is always good for your mental health and can also lead to more ideas and opportunities.
Also, why would you not want to choose what cute cafe you can set your laptop up at? What picturesque backdrop you can decide?
In my opinion, other life changing benefits of being a digital nomad, includes, the independence and sense of freedom. It can be exhilarating, but yet also overwhelming, but doesn't come without lessons we all need to learn.
I used to feel so unproductive working late night shifts in my old job, I just can't focus in the evening at all! Depending what you do (for example if you aren't working remotely for a company that needs a different time zone to your location etc), you can decide when you work to suit when you work best, therefore allowing you to be more productive and the best you can be.
Meeting new people, from all walks of life and all over the world, has been one of my highlights of my new way of living
I have finally found my 'tribe', after long searching for it in England Meeting people in Bali I now call family, organising when to meet people next I met in Europe, seeing a friend I made is coming to Miami and getting to spend time with her connections, connections, connections! None of that would have been possible if I didn't meet them all around the world, many also pursuing this digital nomad lifestyle
It has led to me being much happier, and also inspired, as well as networking being a pivotal part of my business growth, you won't believe who/how I have been connected to since this journey has started
Amongst the many highs, you may also want to consider..
Do you truly want to do it? Or are you trying to fit into what others in your space/industry are doing? How would it make you feel? Journal on this. It's important to remember, it isn't for everyone.
Do you value more the option of a regular salary? Being a digital nomad often means you are in control, at least at the start, of creating resources/ways for that income to come in. It may also mean it may not if say you were unable to continue working... life happens. Are you okay with that?
It also requires huge self motivation, for me I especially struggled as when I decided to do this, I already had a passive income, it was easy for me to just chill on the beach, explore and eat great food and not work, but my huge goals and mission mean I need to keep going, so self motivation and discipline is huge.
This also leads to the point that you technically, don't have paid holidays. Sometimes I am not working myself but I am always on my phone surrounded by it which can be difficult.
As well as this, it can be lonely, even though I have made incredible friends, often they are about to leave for their next destination, or I am However, the pro ' s to me, still outweigh the negatives they are just things to think about and consider!
If you are wondering more about this digital nomad life I am actually holding a free online event, on various topics but focusing mainly on ONLINE INCOME STREAMS I hope to see you there

Firstly, let’s look at what the Law of Assumption actually is
According to our usually trusty friend beginning with G (Google), LOA (not attraction, like you may have heard, yet that’s definitely something I live by too!), but LOA is a theory that what we assume to be true, simply will eventually manifest.
Basically, we live by the idea that everything just will work out if we assume it will.
A bit optimistic right? But I genuinely live by this day to day
Whatever you assume to be true, will become your reality.
Everything I have had in my life, I have put out there as already having, I live by the mantra, everything will work in my favour and I have had to go through deep mindset work, confidence work and a lot of trust to take on this belief in my day to day
Daily I affirm ‘everything works out for me ’ and ‘this or something better’.
Originally proposed by philosopher Neville Goddard, it isn’t a normal law, that can be applied in the court of law, obviously. But it is known as a pseudoscience or spiritual law, if we want to get specific
From his mouth, he said achieving a desired goal has everything to do with your state of mind, rather than just action I know this to be true in every business I have had, every goal I have worked towards, it truly is 95% your mindset and 5% the action
There is no point doing the action necessary if you don’t even believe you can do it or working towards that mindset through the inner work
I see far too often people prioritising the action needed (and of course action is needed), but then they don’t prioritise working on themselves, usually, it is just ‘if they have time’, and I have been that person...we never have time.
I spent years in a circle, not getting anywhere but going crazy because I knew I was putting the action in, but I just wasn’t working on actually believing in myself. I realised this, and realised I was missing the one thing that was going to excel me forward ME
Simply assume the feeling of this goal fulfilled
Ok, Neville, but how?
He says nothing exists out of your own consciousness, and your world experience is based on a symbolic representation of where your consciousness currently stands deep right?
But we are in control of programming our subconscious AND our conscious. We all have underlying subconscious beliefs that come to play often without us realising and due to past events, especially in childhood, that we don’t realise even affects us today, but subconsciously it does.
So in order to change anything, we need to change our beliefs about that thing. Often we don’t realise we have deep rooted beliefs about money, we don’t realise we perceive having money/success as negative perhaps due to watching a family member abuse money. Or something similar to that.
The ultimate importance here, is your FEELING. Just thinking about a scenario isn’t enough, how would the result of that scenario make you feel? Then how can we feel into the feelings that our desires are true?
I hope this small introduction to the Law of Assumption has inspired you to look further into how we are feeling about what we are doing, but to expand further, keep an eye out for Rises's Free Event, launching soon on @lucylianarose.
We are going to explore this topic further together!
How can we implement the practice into our daily life in order to manifest a life we desire?
COMING SOON. turn on notifications @LUCYLIANAROSE
