I felt so much love and support following our first edition release and for that I am so thankful!
However, I am struggling to comprehend that is is December already!? Not only has November flown past, but this entire year. It has been crazy. Do you feel the same?
I wanted this edition to focus on a location that has played a huge part of 2022 for me personally But also a popular destination I know readers will be interested in too Miami
I fell in love with Miami upon my first visit, a short 3 day stay on South Beach (now a place I barely go to actually), but the entire aura and energy Miami gave out made me constantly say 'this is my happy place', and my friends agreed
20 years old at the time, I did not expect 4 years later to be here as much as I am, to have found friends for life, working poolside in a luxury apartment block, driving down to the keys, and drinking pale rose on a Tuesday.
I didn't know in 2019 I'd be back to Miami on a more permanent basis, but the universe did
What I have learned about Miami, is you can truly do anything. Yes, there is a huge party culture, literally 24/7, but there's also a massive wellness scene too. I have only just found the balance but also I am realizing I definitely experience periods of life where one preference is more prevalant than the other (definitely going through a wholesome era now but August, my first month in Miami, was a wild one)
From crazy yacht parties, silent piano concerts on the beach, to mimosas and yoga and candle making, Miami has it all.
So I truly hope you enjoy this edition As well as Miami, we discuss solo travel, winter skincare essentials, european city breaks, how you can attend a girls trip to MOROCCO, as well as what on earth the 'Law of Vibration' is. Oh, as well as candles that will make your house smell like a delightful French bakery.
Lets do this.
As Imentioned, Miami is so diverse.
As I am writing this, it is Art Basel weekend, and just to highlight the diversity of options, there is 24 hour raving going on, and a block away, a VIP exhibition displaying classic art with hors d'oeuvre and martinis.
Art Basel is a whole crazy concept of a weekend in itself. Attracting people from all over the world. It is described in short as a leading global platform connecting collectors, galleries and artists
You'll notice every venue turns into a hub for 'Art Basel' activities, that are nothing to do with art, but from mansion parties to techno raves, actual art exhibitions and pop ups, Art Basel is a weekend not to be missed.
Throughout the rest of the year, you can also tap into the wellness side of Miami (as well as the opposite), andI am going to focus on what this city has to offer when it comes to all things health, yoga, sound baths and more
So first, I would suggest downloading an app called CLYX, it is a platform where people or businesses can create events and users can select to join them and join communities Within this app I have found beach-side complimentary mimosas and yoga, a silent piano journey (think silent disco but wholesome), sound healing and more It's a great way to meet other girls, as well as see all the hundreds of events Miami has to offer. I even saw poolside pilates + mocktail hour at the W. How cool?!
Also, 'Hot Girl Miami' organises walks every Saturday, changing up the locations and simply inviting you to come, grab a coffee or juice, connect with like-minded girls, and get your steps in whilst you ' re at it I have met incredible friends from attending these walks and they're the cutest thing to do to start off your weekend.

Unbound Candles captures the essence of exotic and oftentimes faraway places around the world through scent. My goal has always been to create quality candles at an affordable price, that not only smell incredible but also captivate and inspire. Our passion for travel and the desire to constantly go on new adventures is something that me and my husband value immensely. Being able to discover and appreciate new places and cultures makes us feel alive. However, work time off, money, and responsibilities, all seem to get in the way of our plans most of the time. Unbound Candles was born from that intense desire of being free. Simply catch a plane right now and wake up somewhere new! I want people to find that feeling of freedom when they light up one of my candles. The brand's essence tries to capture those feelings and convey them to our customers!
For the longest time, I dreamt of having my own business. I always had that desire of developing something that I could call my own, and found myself capable of doing it, but never really got around to it. When COVID hit, I was fortunate enough to keep my job amid all of the layoffs that were happening, but I was exhausted, arriving home at 9 pm from the office often. One night, I realized that I was not happy with my routine and that I was always anxious and discouraged. That same night I decided that the situation had to change and that only I could lead my life in the direction I wanted. Soon after, I got pregnant, and that ultimately became my greatest motivation. I suddenly found this urge to give my future baby as much time and attention as possible, and my nine-to-five job would make it impossible to give him that! I knew that if I could be my own boss, I could manage my own schedule working from home, and be a more present mom for him. That is essentially when Unbound Candles was born.
The process of creating the business has been challenging altogether. It's complicated to make decisions when your time and money are at stake. I would say that one of the most difficult obstacles I had to overcome was being able to design the product and create it based on my vision. I knew that the quality had to be outstanding and that it also had to successfully convey the essence of the brand. Finding the proper vendors and ingredients that would satisfy my standards but would not exceed certain price thresholds was tricky! Achieving a certain quality I had in mind and that I knew my customers would demand took me 9 months. I was finally able to produce a candle with the proper ingredients that not only had a unique and long-lasting aroma but also passed the required safety tests.
Another major challenge for me was managing my time and energy during the start-up process. I was pregnant and still working full-time. I often would focus on the business late evenings and weekends and it would become extremely timeconsuming for me. I had to be strict with my routine and stick to pre-made plans in order to keep my sanity. Setting short and long-term goals was essential to keep me motivated and keep moving forward. I am so glad I did, however! I am truly proud and excited about the results!
What is the biggest challenge you have faced building & creating the brand?

i'd love to hear about your goals and vision with Unbound Candles...
As a short-term goal, I would like to increase awareness of the brand and have more people experience Unbound Candles. Much of the recent feedback I’ve received is extremely positive, even from people who normally don’t purchase this sort of item. It’s exciting and rewarding to stand in front of a customer that loves all our scents so much that they really don’t know which one to take home! I am working to grow the business nationally through online sales, and also locally here in Miami I’m currently collaborating with a few retail shops and am looking to have the candles showcased so people to purchase in person, in case they cannot attend one of the pop-up markets I usually participate at I am also developing different candle sizes, as we only have one, and also creating other unique location scents. Ultimately, I would love to explore other natural personal care products in addition to candles, such as soaps and bath salts Going even further, I’d like Unbound to grow large enough to be able to get more involved with the community, and do charity work. Giving back to the people is always important.
Unbound Candles are made of premium coconut and soy wax, fragrances are free from chemicals and artificial colors, while our wicks contain only pure cotton We have curated each of our 8 unique scents and hand-pour all our candles here in Miami Our beautifully designed glass container holds 9 ounces of wax while the metal lid strikes the perfect balance between classic and modern Lastly, the included box not only protects the vessel but its distinct design makes it a great option to gift for any occasion!

Growing up, I always had the dream of exploration Venturing out into the unknown and experiencing new cultures and destinations was something I longed for. However, starting that journey was easier said than done. As I got older I would try to plan trips but, would often find myself with no one to travel with Finally after years of waiting, I decided for my 30th birthday, that I was going to push aside my fears and book my first solo trip to Greece. This experience completely changed my life.
Now, after seven years of solo travel (and loving it), I help other women take their solo journey and would love to share with you the three key benefits I have experienced.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain
Often times we are force fed an idea of what a specific culture, country or religion should be and by traveling you are able to witness first hand how wrong so many of the sterotypes we grow up learning are From sights, sounds, people, and experiences, you are able to see and experience different countries and cultures, interact with people from different religions, backgrounds, etc and eat food you may not normally have while at home. And by doing it solo, you are left to truly immerse yourself and formulate your own opinions without anothers influence
Pro Tip? To immerse yourself in the cultur you will want to stay, live, and break bread with the locals. Skip the tourist attractions and opt to spend the day like a local Shopping at the market in the town square, go to a family-owned cafe, open yourself up to conversations with others
Not only does traveling teach you about other cultures and people but, it teaches even more about yourself. You will learn how brave, strong, independent, and amazing you are I am someone with some serious anxiety and selfesteem issues When I travel I am a whole different person. I am the true me. A confident, fearless (to an extent), and welcoming woman who is open to trying new experiences and meeting new people I am not reserved or selfconscious I put it out there and let the world take me as I am. You have nothing to lose by putting yourself out there You do, however, have the world to gain.
To anyone who deals with mental health matters, myself included, there are times we feel defeated Whether it is not knowning your purpose or feeling like your life has no excitement, I have found that travel is one of the best medicines. Not only is it one of the fastest ways you can grow as a human, it is also a way to rediscover who YOU are as an individual and find a passion/purpose.
Pro Tip: Get involved. Look into International Volunteerism and how you can give back to a community Not only will you feel good about yourself and what you are doing, but you will also be helping out so many people and giving them something to be excited about and look forward to You can literally change lives – yours and others.
These are just a few of the many benefits you can experience when traveling solo. I hope you find them inspirational and that they provide you with the encouragement needed to take off on your first solo adventure.
Happy traveling,
This one I stayed in myself and loved it As soon as you walk in the light pastels, gold and whites just scream elegant, classy and minimal luxury, just like the rooms
There was also a beautiful spa that cured my hangover after partying late into the night at Matignon

Yes, Sol De Janeiro are being highlighted again. Scent 71 is just the PERFECT cosy winter scent, and as you can see, they a limited edition hand cream in the same scent Need
Next up is Refy, the beautiful @jesshunt's brand and I recommend the shade 'Taupe' for this season The concept is, apply the colour, go over in the clear cream, which literally holds for THE ENTIRE DAY, and then gloss, and you're good to go drink wine, eat that burger, whatever.
Now to highlight Farmacy's Honey Halo moisturizer. Dewy, scented goodness with
PLEASE, don't ask questions, just understand, you need these candles
The first one I discovered was 'Croissant'. Now hear me out, I hate croissants, I also hate macaroons, and pain au chocolat. TOO EAT.
I am a bit weird, desserts, pastries and the like, are not my thing. But when it comes to favourite scents, bakery scents are my go-to.
These candles go beyond the buttery, delightful scent you ' re likely imagining right now. Let me tell you, whatever luscious scent you think when you see these words, they smell 10 x better.
"What makes the perfect Croissant? A magnificent golden crispy puff pastry that smells as delicious as it tastes. A premium butter to indulge a lavish smoothness to the Croissant, one bite and it melts in the mouth"
At £46, they're worth every penny. Homely, warming and long-lasting. They literally fill the entire room with just the right amount of bakery goodness.
Oh, and they're often sold out, so get yourself on the waitlist.
Nestled within Jubail Island, 25 minutes south of Abu Dhabi centre, you will find a stunning eco-retreat : Pura.
I had the pleasure of staying at this hidden gem for one evening, after a busy weekend at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was the perfect, wholesome, wellness 24 hours that was exactly what we needed. As soon as we arrived, we went straight to the Mangroves, led by an expert, friendly guide who explained the mangroves history, who planted them, why, as well as how they work within the eco-system... nature really is incredible in what it can do.
We kayaked back just as the sun was setting and got collected via golf-buggy with a scenic 10 minute drive through the park to Pura where we were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink. As we walked to our bell tent (equipped with a double bed!) and everything you could need really, we were in awe at how beautiful the fairy-lights looked over their restaurant - Arabian themed with pillows to sit on and lit up by dim fairy lights, plus, incredible offers within their happy hour.
I couldn't recomend the honey glazed carrot and feta cheese enough, and for mains, the lamb was delicious You can also order shisha and relax under the brightly lit sky
Within the island, there is several other activities to do, such as taking a small boat out at any time of day, doing a sunrise or sunset kayaking tour, and even kayaking outwards to plant your own mangrove tree.
This is an example of an eco-dome you can book! We were in a smaller tent (see below).

Google immeditately describes this law as :
Every thought or mental state has a corresponding rate and mode of vibration The higher the vibration, the longer lasting the effects are The lower the vibration, the more potent the effects are in the short term.
To start, this is one of the 12 universal laws. Last month we looked into - The Law of Assumption, and each month we will continue discussing another...which is actually the second law overall.
Essentially, every single thing, is constantly vibrating at a special frequency and is in constant motion
The difference between one object or another is the frequency in which it vibrates So nothing in the universe can ever be identical!
Did you know, linen vibrates at the same frequency of LOVE. Get yourself some linen bedding.
Now, when it comes to manifestation, (actively using the universal laws to make our goals and dreams reality), we can technically, get anything we want, by vibrating at the same frequency, sounds easy right? Well, we have the other laws of course that come into play, however, that is the concept!
Now, if something vibrates quicker, we would say it is at a higher frequency so that would make slower vibrations, a lower frequency. Change the vibration of your cells... change your reality.
You may have heard people describe encounters with others as being able to feel their energy... well that is someone tapping into someone elses emotional state.
A long time ago, we used this intuition to sense danger, but we lost that overtime The Law of Assumption however encourages you to tap into this feeling, that flutter in your belly, the nudge leading us closer to where we want to get to
The universe is constantly trying to get us to tap into this, to feel into the universal guidance and energies, but so often we are walking around ignoring it.
Now using the Law of Vibration to manifest would be essentially tapping into the feeling of already having what we desire, but we need to remember, we need to be vibrating at a higher frequency.. we cannot manifest high-vibe feelings and experiences if we are having low vibrational/low frequency feelings These are feelings such as sadness, anger, jealousy, instead of loving, caring, happy
Now the first way to work on vibrating higher, is actually acknowledge what is bringing us down You're trying to get to the top but you have a heavy suitcase of things you haven't dealt with that's weighing you down.
Remember we can sit there and just try and think it into reality, but actually we need to embody the emotion, and therefore clear that suitcase first. This is your sign to tap into inner work, and you can find resources, books and videos everywhere Plus you can find more on @lucylianarose
For being here. This is the second edition of Rise, and I am so excited to continue sharing my travels and recomendations with you I hope you have the most wonderful christmas and new year!
