Sustainable Futures

From small steps to larger projects, we are working on multiple projects that support our carbon reduction targets. Here are just five ways we’re working to be more sustainable:

Solar energy

We have solar panels on our main building, sports centre and our new student accommodation, which have generated over 500,000kwh of electricity to date. Over their lifetime, these solar panels have saved 250,000kg of carbon dioxide, the equivalent to planting 12,500 trees.

Eco-friendly food packaging

We have switched our disposable food packaging to ecofriendly alternatives.

Locally sourced Food

To help minimise our carbon footprint, as well as ensuring delicious food, we source locally grown/produced produce for our refectory wherever possible.

Sustainability skills for employment

As a student with us, you’ll have the opportunity to gain new qualifications in sustainability as part of your chosen course. This enhanced knowledge of sustainability practices will be invaluable in your career.

Electric cars

We have begun to replace our older diesel-fuelled cars with electric vehicles.
