Emphasis will be placed on basic design principles, value, perspective, texture, and shadows.Students will learn to create broad-stroke drawings with clearly rendered shapes, values, and points of interest.

Emphasis will be placed on pen stroke techniques to produce form, texture, shape, value, and points of interest. Experiment with hatching, contouring, and stippling techniques. Strengthen your drawing skills while discovering the versatility of this fast, indelible medium.

Using a reference image you will learn the necessary techniques, color theory, burnishing and layering to develop a quality colored pencil drawing. Come illustrate, explore and express anything that inspires you.

You will be introduced to the essential techniques needed while using a variety of different tools to bring your image to life. Your photo references can be of any subject that you choose a favorite animal, person, or place.
