January 14, 21, 28; February 4, 11, 18, 25; March 4, 11, 18 Create the wildest, most whimsical mermaid you can imagine and make fun “animal” tumblers you’ll be proud to drink from or turn your inspiration into reality with an object from your imagination. And, not to worry, if you were looking forward to making a fabulous fish this season or lovely garden totem, Paul can surely make it happen! Learn basic clay slab skills and explore various approaches to decorating your ceramic objects.
NOTE: Price includes up to 25 pounds of clay (for in class project use only), glazes, and firing. Additional clay may be purchased from EAC. Students must adhere to the EAC’s Pottery Studio Policies and Procedures. HANDBUILDING AND WHEEL THROWING Nichole Moranda
January 15, 22, 29; February 5, 12 February 19, 26; March 5, 12, 19 March 26; April 2, 9, 16, 23 Learn handbuilding and wheel throwing techniques while creating a variety of ceramic objects. Hand building instruction will focus on slab, coil and pinch methods. Basic glazing practices will also be covered as well as a variety of decorative techniques.

EXPLORE CERAMICS: AN INTRODUCTION TO WORKING WITH CLAY Nichole Moranda
January 12, 19, 26; February 2, 9 February 16, 23; March 2, 9, 16 March 23, 30; April 6, 13, 20 Explore the tactile and fun nature of clay in this introduction to the medium. Emphasis will be on the fundamental skills, vocabulary, equipment, materials, and preparations specific to ceramics. Each 5-week series will focus on a specific project. Students should come prepared with creative ideas for personalizing their projects, as well as ideas for building their own original clay creations.
