Dietary supplements can help with diagnosed vitamin deficiencies, such as shortages of vitamin D, B6, or B12, which are common among older adults. But what about your prostate?
Over-the-counter supplements touted to support prostate health are popular, and research has shown that men with a family history of prostate cancer are more likely to take them.
These pills supposedly help prevent and manage symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostate hyperplasia, or BPH). Some of the ingredients are said to protect against prostate cancer or slow its growth. But is there any truth to these claims?
Many prostate supplements contain various ingredients believed to support prostate health. The most common are saw palmetto, selenium, zinc, and beta-sitosterol.
Here’s the what medical evidence suggests.
Saw palmetto. Saw palmetto is a shrublike palm that grows in the southeastern United States. An extract from its fruit may help with BPH symptoms, such as the constant need to urinate or a weak urine stream. Studies are mixed: two large, highquality studies funded by the National Institutes of Health found saw palmetto was no more effective than a placebo. But other studies have suggested these supplements might have modest benefits.
Selenium. Some studies have suggested the mineral selenium might play a role in protecting against prostate cancer and slowing its progression, but other studies have not found any benefit. Therefore, which men might benefit from selenium supplementation and what may be an appropriate dose remains undetermined.
Zinc. Prostate cells accumulate more zinc than cells in any other human tissue, and the mineral plays a role in the prostate’s
normal functioning. Some basic science research suggests that zinc deficiency may increase the risk of both prostate enlargement and prostate cancer. But observational studies looking at zinc supplements do not show consistent improvements in prostate health. In fact, taking high doses of zinc (100 milligrams daily) actually might increase prostate cancer risk.
Beta-sitosterol. A type of chemical called a plant sterol, beta-sitosterol is found in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. While it may lower cholesterol levels, it’s also thought to reduce prostate swelling and improve BPH symptoms. However, it does not shrink an enlarged prostate. A doubleblind study published online July 3, 2020, by BMC Urology found that men who took saw palmetto oil enriched with beta-sitosterol daily for 12 weeks had improved BPH symptoms, including urine flow.
The biggest problem with prostate supplements is the same as with other overthe-counter dietary supplements: the FDA regulates them as a subcategory of food. This means the FDA monitors products that make misleading claims but does not review supplements for safety or effectiveness. So, you cannot always be sure how a supplement is manufactured or if it contains what it says on the label.
Instead of relying on supplements for better prostate health, it’s better to follow a diet that emphasizes plant-based eating, like the Mediterranean-style diet. It focuses on higher amounts of whole fruits and vegetables (especially cruciferous vegetables), whole grains, nuts, and olive oil, with fish preferred over red meat.
Photo: When it comes to prostate health, it seems that many look for solutions in supplement bottles. Research shows that those with an elevated risk for prostate cancer are more likely to take vitamins and supplements — particularly if those pills boast of offering a boost for prostate health.
If you’re a man over 50, it’s probably more difficult for you to rebound from a bucket of wings, a doughnut binge or a six-pack of beer than in your younger days. Bad habits take more of a toll as you age.
Don’t wait until you have high blood pressure or gain 50 pounds to make a change. Healthy habits and smart lifestyle choices can make you look and feel years younger and, more important, live longer.
Cut the salt for heart health
Here’s a shocker: One in 10 deaths in U.S. adults are connected to eating too much salt. Sixty percent of those deaths occur in men. Too much sodium and too little potassium raise your blood pressure, a major contributor to heart disease.
Cutting back on sodium bombs such as bread, cheese and processed foods can lower your risk. Add more heart-healthy leafy greens to your diet, and get more potassium through foods such as bananas. As a bonus, you’ll get fewer wrinkles.
Stay sharp
Want to keep your wits as you age? A large body of evidence connects diet in mid-life to the risk of dementia and other cognitive disorders in later years. One 2011 study found an association between a Mediterranean-diet of healthy unsaturated fats and few saturated fats with a reduced risk of mental decline. Get more unsaturated fats through fish, vegetable oils and nuts.
Keep your bones strong
Osteoporosis is not just a woman’s disease. Men lose bone mass after age 50, too. You may
It’s not all about that ‘bod’
When most men think about working out, they think about lifting weight, washboard abs and building muscle. But there’s much more to fitness for men than just bulking up. Cardiovascular health is an important component of a well-rounded men’s fitness plan. Consider the fundamentals of fitness.
Focus on the importance of cardiovascular health
The American College of Sports Medicine has recommended cardiovascular exercise for the general public since 1978. But many men forego cardiovascular exercise for the weight room.
Cardiovascular conditioning is one of the most fundamental measurements of fitness and should be a part of any balanced exercise program. If that doesn’t convince you to add some cardio to your exercise routine, check out these benefits:
√ Greater energy from endorphins, which may also improve your mood and help you sleep better
√ Weight loss from the calories you’ll burn
√ Boosted metabolism from cardio exercise means your body burns calories even between workouts
benefit from supplemental calcium and probiotics in the diet.
A restudy in The Journal of Cellular Physiology found a connection between probiotic supplements and increased bone density in male mice. Researchers from the study commented that probiotics may help treat osteoporosis in the future, in addition to aiding digestive health.
Stick with water for prostate health
When it comes to satisfying your taste buds, most men prefer soda over water. But the consequences to your future health may not be worth the extra flavor. New research suggests that 180,000 deaths per year may be related to sugary soft drinks.
For men specifically, soda may increase your risk for prostate cancer on top of contributing to weight gain and the risk of diabetes. If you want to flavor your water, add some lemon berries, or add a little fizz with carbonated water.
For sexual health, go natural
If you think red meat is manly and vegetables are wimpy, forget it especially if you want a healthy love life. Eating too much red meat can clog your arteries and bump up your levels of bad LDL cholesterol, both of which can cause erectile dysfunction.
For better performance, get more protein from plants and powerhouses such as black and red kidney beans, and cut back on red meat, refined sugars and trans fat.
√ Stronger heart from sustained cardio exercise for greater longevity, stamina and immunity
Find the right balance
Strength training is important for building a strong body, so you should keep doing it. But it’s important to strike a healthy balance between your cardiovascular training and strength training.
Many men focus too much on weight lifting, which can leave your body —particularly your heart vulnerable. Striking a good balance with both cardio and strength is vital to your fitness.
Some of the best cardio exercises include:
√ Running (or treadmill running)
√ Walking
√ Cycling (or spinning class)
√ Swimming
√ Stairclimbing
√ Elliptical machines
Example of a cardio workout: Stationary Bicycle
Among the best indoor cross-training activities is the stationary bicycle. You can burn over 220 calories during a 30-minute workout by maintaining a 12 M.P.H. pace. Stationary cycling also works some key lower body muscles: gluteus, quadriceps, hamstrings, thighs and calves.
If you haven’t been using a stationary bicycle for a long time, start out with 15 minutes easy and work your way up in intensity and duration. (“Easy” should feel relatively comfortable, so you should be straining to pedal or be out of breath.)
Many of these machines have pre-programmed routines, or try this workout:
1. Warm up
2. Pedal easy for 20 minutes
3. Workout:
1 minute of hard pedaling (80-90 percent of maximum heart rate)
1 minute easy recovery
2 minutes hard
2 minutes easy
3 minutes hard
3 minutes easy: This comprises one set work your way up to a total of three sets
4. Cool down; 20 minutes easy
Do you frequently feel the urge to urinate— waking up three or four times in the night and always keeping an eye out for the nearest restroom when you’re out and about?
Michael Herman, MD,
Director Mount Nassauof
Urologyat
Sinai South
specializes in an incisionless surgery to treat enlarged prostate.
Those are common symptoms of an enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Generally affecting men 50 and older, BPH is caused when noncancerous cells divide to make more cells, forming a mass that restricts flow in the urinary tract. Left untreated, BPH could lead to serious illness, including urinary tract infections, stones in the bladder or kidney, urinary retention, and kidney damage.
Urologists at Mount Sinai South Nassau, including Michael Herman, MD, Director of Urology, and Raymond Sultan, MD, specialize in the Aquablation technique to treat BPH. The incisionless surgery combines the precision of a heat-free waterjet and robotic surgical technology to remove enlarged prostate tissue. Studies comparing Aquablation to the gold standard—a surgical approach called transurethral resection of the prostate —show that Aquablation is safer and equally effective, with a low rate of irreversible complications, such as
incontinence, ejaculatory dysfunction, and erectile dysfunction.
In addition to Aquablation, Mount Sinai South Nassau urologists specialize in advanced diagnostic, surgical, and radiation therapy techniques to treat prostate cancer and benign prostate conditions.
Although the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test remains the front-line screening tool for prostate cancer, the hospital’s urologists increasingly rely on more accurate, non-invasive biomarkers obtained from the blood or urine. These tests, in addition to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), are highly effective at helping determine whether a biopsy is necessary. If it is, the hospital’s urologists specialize in MRI-guided biopsies to precisely target the areas of concern. This targeted approach reduces the number of biopsies needed and increases their accuracy.
Mount Sinai South Nassau offers the full range of therapies to develop treatment plans tailored specifically to the needs and goals of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer. This includes:
• Active surveillance for slow-growing prostate cancers that are not likely to spread
• Focal therapies, such as cryotherapy and high-intensity focused ultrasound, for early-stage cancer
• Robotically assisted, minimally invasive prostatectomy
• Prostate seed brachytherapy
• High-intensity focused ultrasound
• Several types of radiation therapy, including the Varian Novalis Tx™
Mount Sinai South Nassau also offers molecular genetic testing to ensure that prostate cancer is not aggressive and helps many men avoid treatment altogether.
The patient-centered treatment plans are complemented by comprehensive education and counseling services. Those services foster steady communication, resulting in patients’ understanding of the benefits and the stages of the treatment plans they have selected, which is essential to achieving maximal outcomes.
“We take the worry out of diagnosis to focus on providing patients with the treatments they need to address prostate cancer or benign prostate conditions,” said Dr. Herman, a specialist in robotic and laparoscopic surgery for prostate cancer, who uses MRI-targeted biopsies and biomarkers to reduce the number of biopsies and more accurately diagnosing prostate cancer, resulting in improved outcomes for his patients.
Mount Sinai South Nassau is rated “High Performing” in urology by U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-24 Best Hospital Rankings guide. To contact the hospital’s prostate specialists, call 1-877-SOUTH-NASSAU or visit mountsinai.org/southnassau

At the Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, adaptive pickleball is back in session. The Parker Jewish Institute has re-opened its 26-by-30-foot outdoor pickleball court, on its patio level, for patients and residents.
This popular activity is modified by Parker’s recreational leaders to help participants have fun while achieving their physical- and occupational-therapy goals. An easy sport for beginners to learn, pickleball also promotes social interaction.
As the fastest-growing sport in America, pickleball offers older adults a host of benefits. This includes both functional and cognitive-related improvements, as well as a reduction in self-reported pain.
On Parker’s pickleball court, participants must wear appropriate footwear, for safety. Parker’s recreational leaders begin each session with simple movement and stretching, followed by an explanation of rules and goals. During the warm-up, participants get ample opportunity to practice with equipment, whether it’s swinging a paddle or practicing serves.
Parker’s Director of Therapeutic Recreation works with patients and residents
who want to schedule court-time. In this adaptive version of the sport, participants are escorted to the court and seated, and for those in wheelchairs, the chair is locked as a safety measure. Recreational staff stand ready on either side of the nets, providing safety reminders and helping to keep the ball in play. Staff members offer hydration during play, and follow each participant’s plan of care.
“We are thrilled to re-open Parker’s
pickleball court and offer another season of healthy, outdoor fun for our residents and patients,” said Michael N. Rosenblut, president and CEO of Parker Jewish Institute.
“Our residents and patients enjoy spending time in the fresh air, together. And by playing adaptive pickleball, they are also building strength, endurance and range of motion. At Parker, people look forward to their sessions, while also improving their overall wellbeing,”

When it comes to health, perception is not always reality. This is especially true when considering how men care for themselves when faced with a health condition. In fact, while most men would say they are more focused on their health than they have been in the past, physicians report a different truth. This difference is especially concerning when it comes to treating chronic conditions, because failure to follow treatment regimens may lead to bigger health problems in the future.
Missed appointments and opportunities
According to research from the American Academy of Family Physicians, which surveyed its member physicians, one in five doctors said up to half of their male patients failed to fill a prescription. In addition, one in three doctors said that up to half of their male patients did not take a prescription as directed. Four in ten reported that up to half of their male patients failed to follow up with a regular routine test when ordered for their condition.
In addition, nearly a quarter of surveyed doctors said up to half of their male patients failed to show up for planned follow-up visits.
These missed opportunities come at a time when chronic conditions among men continue to rise. According to the National Ambulatory Medical Survey, diagnoses of three common, yet potentially severe, conditions all have increased year over year. The data shows that cases of high blood pressure. high cholesterol and diabetes have all seen notable increases.
“People may not take these conditions seriously
because they don’t have any noticeable symptoms, and that’s a big mistake,” says John Meigs, Jr., M.D. “High blood pressure and high cholesterol have been called ‘silent killers’ for a reason. If they aren’t controlled, they can lead to heart attack, stroke or kidney disease. In addition to these complications, uncontrolled diabetes also can cause blindness, nerve damage and loss of limbs.”
“So it’s vital that men see their doctors, get preventive care and follow instructions for any chronic diseases they may have.”
Also, add into the mix, your mental health. As has consistently well documented, the pandemic exacerbated a myriad of issues, including, anxiety and depression, plus stress in general.
There are many biological and sociological gender differences between men and women, but some of the most primary distinctions include men and mental health, which includes the prevalence, diagnosis, escalation and treatment of mental illnesses. We’re not sure exactly where the myth “Real men don’t cry” came from, but it’s exactly that: A myth. And it’s a dangerous one that’s taken root in our society, leading men to believe that the only acceptable way to deal with emotions is to pretend as if they don’t exist. In 2023, a Cleveland Clinic survey found that 44 percent of men believe they live a healthy lifestyle, but don’t prioritize their mental health. A whopping 65 percent of men said they hesitate to seek professional help for mental health concerns like stress, anxiety and depression. On a daily basis, many males find themselves grappling with prescriptive, antiquated ideas about gender and this struggle can contribute to their mental health issues. It also explains why so many males have a difficult time admitting that they need help and pursuing it.
Fortunately, taking a more proactive approach to health care including your emotional well-being is easier than most men think. A visit to your primary care provider is the first step toward taking charge of your health and identifying any health issues. Follow your doctor’s recommendations, and you’ll turn your goal for good health from simple perception into reality. And be sure to express any concerns about depression or anxiety or other relation issues you may have. Understand that getting help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Photo: When it comes to health care, men are often like ostriches. Men sometimes bury their heads in the sand, forgoing regular visits to the doctor, and less likely than women to take symptoms seriously and live a healthful lifestyle.

We tend to accept the notion that as we get older our memory isn’t what it once used to be. And while there is some truth to this, adults should not accept their ‘senior moments’ as a normal part of getting older. The best term used to describe the normal decline in memory as we age is mild forgetfulness, which is not a serious memory problem. Forgetting to pay a bill on time, misplacing car keys and even forgetting where you parked your car when you leave the shopping plaza are all normal signs of aging (and can even happen to younger folks).
There is a simple correlation between forgetfulness and aging, but when the forgetfulness outpaces your age and begins to impact your daily life and others around you, that is cause for concern. Dr. Keith N. Darrow, a local New Yorker, and Harvard Medical and M.I.T. trained neuroscientist has been studying the impact of hearing loss, another fact-of-life for older adults, and its impact on memory decline for nearly 20+ years.
Dr. Darrow explains, “hearing loss is the third most common chronic condition impacting adults over the age of 60 years young and can increase the risk of cognitive decline and dementia by 200-500%. This correlation is cause for serious alarm in the 1.5 billion people living with untreated hearing loss”. His team at the Hearing and Brain Centers of America, formerly the Hearing Center of Long Island, includes audiologist, hearing instrument specialist, and certified dementia practitioners who understand the underlying links of hearing loss and dementia and work every day to help reduce their patients’ risk.
“While hearing loss and dementia are different, they share the underlying characteristics of being progressive — meaning they get worse over time — and degenerative, indicating that the nerves in the brain are breaking down at a rapid rate. Fortunately, the most recent reports from the European Dementia Commission indicate that the medical treatment of hearing loss is the #1 modifiable lifestyle factor for preventing dementia, and it may slow the progression of the disorder.”
Although many people ignore their hearing loss, most are cognizant of their increase in senior moments that leave them with that gut-wrenching feeling that something isn’t right. Dr. Darrow explained that “common signs of early hearing loss and dementia both include asking the same question repeatedly, getting lost in places a person knows well, having difficulty following a conversation or following what others are saying, missing the beginning or ending when others are speaking to you and experiencing tinnitus —constant ringing in your ears or head.”
Understanding how hearing loss impacts the brain is what Dr. Darrow and his team across the country focus on every day.
“The challenge is helping families understand that their ability to hear directly impacts their memory. Ideally, we would treat every patient’s hearing loss right when it starts, but with individuals waiting an average of 7 years to seek treatment, that is way too long, and by then it often impacts memory. Fortunately, treatment can help reverse the cognitive decline and has been found to reduce the progression of cognitive impairment.”
– Dr. Keith Darrow
As Darrow explains:
“Although hearing loss is a natural process of aging and quite common in adults over 60 years young, even a mild loss is a major problem that can impact daily life, affect a person’s memory, force someone out of their home, and even lead to decline and dementia. Fortunately, with advances in treatment, we now have the power to slow down the progression of both hearing loss and memory decline.”

Taking steps to improve your mental and physical well-being may fall flat if you’re not spending enough time recharging your body. Sleep experts agree: adequate, regular sleep is essential for overall health and well-being.
According to a new recommendation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and Sleep Research Society, all adults should get seven or more hours of sleep per night to avoid the health risks associated with prolonged periods of inadequate sleep. For the millions of Americans who do not make regular sleep a priority, this guidance can motivate healthier lifestyle habits.
For many guys, there seems to a perception that minimal sleep is cool and somehow beneficial to professional achievement.
“Sleep is critical to health, along with a healthy diet and regular exercise,” says Dr. Nathaniel F. Watson, moderator of the expert panel that developed the recommendation. “Our consensus panel of 15 of the nation’s top sleep experts found that sleeping six or fewer hours per night is inadequate to sustain health and safety in adults. We also agreed that seven or more hours of sleep per night is the recommended amount for all healthy adults.”
No limit for certain individuals Recognizing that some adults need more sleep than others, the panel did not place a limit on how much sleep people should get per night. For example, people who may need nine or more hours of nightly sleep include young adults with growing bodies, individuals trying to make up for lost sleep, or those who are sick.
“More than a third of the population is
not getting enough sleep, so the focus needs to be on getting at least seven hours of nightly sleep,” added Watson. “In general we want people to get more sleep, not less.”

√ Limit the caffeine if need be. Avoid coffee, tea, soda and other caffeine sources in the afternoon and evening hours.

AgActive aging is the process of optimizing opportunities for better health, continuing development of knowledge, and increased security in order to maximize quality of life as you age. The word ‘active’ is used to describe a person’s involvement with social, physical, economic, spiritual and civic affairs. We all share the same goal to maintain autonomy and independence as we age, and thus we must rely on preserving the tenants of interdependence (socialization and reliance on family and loved ones) and intergenerational solidarity (maintaining companionship with age-matched peers) to insure active aging.
•Tips for active aging include:
• Share a meal with family and friends 3-5 times per week
• Commit to an aerobics / exercise regiment
• Learn a new hobby each year
• Play an instrument (learn a new instrument if you already know how to play one)
• If you love to read, keep reading. If you don’t read much, try to read a book every other month
• Participate in classes at your local senior center
• Volunteering at a local hospital, shelter, etc.
• Go back to school! Many local universities offer free tuition to individuals over the age of 65 Both social isolation and depression are major risk factors for the development of dementia, and both increase as we age. Being a lifelong learner and staying active is important to maintain a healthy, active brain, and can
also reduce your risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Some studies have shown that social activities, larger social networks, and a history of social contact are associated with better cognitive function and reduced risk for cognitive decline.
Exercising regularly will make your heart and blood circulatory system more efficient. It will also help to lower your cholesterol and keep your blood pressure at a healthy level, decreasing your risk of developing some kinds of dementia.

After 30 years in practice as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Terry Biener still believes that the key to using hypnosis as a helpful tool — often referred to as Hypnotherapy — is knowing what to say, how to say it, and which techniques to use. Each person processes information differently. So, origins of habits, fears, and other challenges vary greatly. Sessions are private, tailored to the person’s lifestyle, personality, triggers, and sometimes, the past.
In March 2020, everything changed. As her clientele canceled appointments, Biener abruptly shut down her practice. Uncertainty prevailed. Months passed, and it was apparent that safe distancing and masks would continue indefinitely. Since her work entailed up-close communication, and talking through a mask was a muffled no-go, reinvention was necessary. She used her time to research, take online courses and even attend virtual hypnotherapy conferences, worldwide. Embracing online technology was clearly a solution. After all, many health providers and therapists were going virtual.
While most clients lived locally, distance is no longer an issue. By summer of 2020, Biener was offering Zoom hypnotherapy sessions, allowing extra time to help people find the most effective environment, both physically and technologically.
“I was skeptical at first,” she admits, having worked in person for so long. “But once I retrained, I realized that online sessions were not only successful, but many people prefer it. Scheduling was always a challenge. Now a person can set aside an hour of their time rather than three, and they can contact me from anywhere. I recently helped a former client with test anxiety, while he
attended college, out of state.”
Having had phobias and panic attacks herself, which were ultimately eliminated with hypnosis, Biener chose fears and trauma as her niche. By combining Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques with hypnosis, she reduces unwanted, and sometimes devastating anxiety. Since the pandemic, new concerns have surfaced — healthrelated fears, life’s uncertainties, grief, procrastination, weight gain, sleep issues, etc.
“Ignore what you’ve seen in movies; that’s entertainment. A hypnotic trance is a natural state we visit frequently — daydreaming, reading, playing a video game. A hypnotist induces this type of trance to “reframe” the subconscious mind, which rules how we respond. A good subject is strong-willed, intelligent and creative. The person being hypnotized never loses control.”
A thorough intake session is done first. The number of hypnosis sessions recommended varies. Motivation and willingness to work on a conscious level are important. Trust and a good rapport with the hypnotist are important.
Formerly a New York City teacher, Biener is certified though the American Board of Hypnotherapy and the National Guild of Hypnotists. She has done speaking engagements for local organizations and wellness centers. Call for a free phone consultation or visit the website.

In the battle against cancer, timely and accurate diagnosis is critical. Unfortunately, misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis are all too common, leading to severe consequences for patients and their families. As July approaches, which is Medical Malpractice Awareness Month, it’s a crucial time to shed light on these issues. Awareness can help prevent future instances of misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis. At Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro LLP, we handle these kinds of medical malpractice cases, and we’re dedicated to fighting for justice for those affected by these errors.
Misdiagnosis occurs when a medical professional fails to correctly identify a patient’s condition. Delayed diagnosis, on the other hand, involves a significant delay in reaching a correct diagnosis. When either occurs, precious time is lost, allowing the cancer to progress unchecked, reducing the chances of successful treatment.
The consequences of misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis of cancer can be devastating. Patients may endure unnecessary pain and suffering, undergo unnecessary treatments, or miss out
on potentially life-saving interventions. Families are left to cope with the emotional and financial burdens, often feeling betrayed by a system that failed to protect their loved ones.
When misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis leads to harm, victims have legal options. Our experienced team at Salenger, Sack, Kimmel & Bavaro LLP is committed to holding negligent medical professionals accountable for their actions. We work tirelessly to pursue compensation for our clients, including damages for pain and suffering, lost income, medical expenses, and wrongful death.
When Time Matters: Combatting Misdiagnosis & Delayed Diagnosis in Cancer
By Jeffrey M. KimmelDespite these challenges, here are some steps you can take to minimize risks and advocate for your health:
• Be Proactive with Healthcare: Attend regular check-ups and screenings as recommended by your healthcare provider. Early detection is key in successfully treating most types of cancer.
• Communicate Effectively: Clearly communicate any symptoms or concerns you may have to your healthcare provider. Be thorough in describing your symptoms, including when they started, how they’ve progressed, and any factors that may exacerbate or alleviate them.
• Seek Second Opinions: If you’re uncertain about a diagnosis or treatment plan, don’t hesitate to seek a second opinion from another qualified healthcare professional. Different perspectives can provide valuable insights and ensure thorough consideration of all options.

• Follow Up: If you’re awaiting test results or diagnostic procedures, follow up with your healthcare provider as needed to ensure timely communication and resolution. Don’t hesitate to inquire about the status of your tests or next steps in your care plan.
