GO GOLD WITH PHOENIX CHILDREN’S THIS SEPTEMBER Why Go Gold? · A child is diagnosed every 3½ minutes with cancer. More than 300 will learn they have the disease this year at Phoenix Children’s alone. · Childhood cancer research funding accounts for less than 4% of all cancer research funding allotted by the federal government. · One out of every five children with cancer will not survive. Survival rates increase with participation in clinical trials. Phoenix Children’s is the only pediatric cancer treatment center in Arizona offering Phase 1 clinical trials. · The Chan Soon-Shiong Children’s Precision Medicine Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital serves as the epicenter of the nation’s largest childhood cancer initiative – the Pediatric Cancer MoonShot Consortium.
