Coppa Cafe Coppa Cafe is a European-style bistro set amid the mountains of Flagstaff serving lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. Choosing to go against the grain of the franchise and chain restaurants often found in smaller-town America, husbandand-wife owners Brian Konefal and Paola Fioravanti instead favor using house-cured meats, ingredients locally procured from nearby farms and ranches, and foraged foods found in the forests around Flagstaff in their dishes. www.coppacafe.net.

hile still keeping its cozy “college town” charm, Flagstaff is gaining more and more national attention as a hot spot for adults looking for adventure and culinary creativity. Read on to learn what’s drawing visitors from near and far to this cooler, piney mecca.

Pepsi Amphitheater With temperatures rarely exceeding the mid-80s – even in August – Flagstaff is the perfect outdoor music destination. This venue, among the largest and most acoustically pleasing outdoor venues in the state, has hosted performers including Melissa Etheridge, Willie Nelson and The Charlie Daniels Band in recent years. Developed in a natural forest bowl, the venue is also earning praise for its growing lineup of wine, food and music festivals. A bonus – the amphitheater is linked to the Flagstaff Urban Trail System and welcomes guests to bike or walk to any event. Upcoming acts include Shawn Colvin and Gregg Allman. www.pepsiamp.com.

Flagstaff Extreme It is not uncommon to see Flagstaff visitors flying from rope swings and zip lines. Why? An intricate obstacle course set among the trees – the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course – made its debut a few years ago. After a detailed safety program, guests are given the green light to brave four courses, each consisting of 12 obstacles high in the sky. Each course, much like with popular ski mountains, is color-coded to denote difficulty. The easiest part? Having fun! www.flagstaffextreme.com. SO SCOTTSDALE! |
