Fitz’s Supper Club adds comedy in its eighth year BY ALISON BAILIN BATZ
L
arry Fitzgerald is many things – a sports icon, a dedicated philanthropist, a hair god. But during his Eighth Annual Fitz’s Supper Club, Celebrities at YOUR Service – hosted at Dominick’s Steakhouse Aug. 29 – Fitzgerald will add one more skill to his Hall of Fame resume: comedian. Well, sort of! Fitzgerald will, indeed, make a few jokes, but will actually play more of the host role. He’ll welcome several of his friends from the stage and screen, including four-time NBA champion turned actor and comedian John Salley, who, along with several others, will join Fitzgerald and his teammates to help raise funds for The Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund during his annual Supper Club event. Whether its slapstick, stand-up or sketch comedy, all of which will be performed during the event, Fitzgerald’s goal is for everyone to be in stiches (in a good way!). In addition to the new element of comedy this year, guests can expect amazing food, familiar famous faces and, of course, lots of Fitzgerald all night long.
“We are excited to be helping Larry with his event for another year. This is one of our favorite events here at Dominick’s Steakhouse, and we are honored to assist in making sure as much of the funds as possible go to those in need,” says Jeffrey Mastro, co-owner of Dominick’s Steakhouse. According to Mastro, during the event guests can expect four specially designed courses as well as sommelier-selected wines from around the world.

Of course, the highlight of the event will be Fitzgerald’s Arizona Cardinals teammates and celebrity friends waiting on guests. Just a few of the big names guests can expect to have serving them include Carson Palmer, Patrick Peterson, Calais Campbell and Michael Floyd, as well as some surprise guests from the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks and NFL Hall of Fame.
The Cause
Last year’s Celebrities at YOUR Service event sold out and raised more than $500,000 to support various worthy causes through the First Down Fund. For more than a decade, Fitzgerald’s organization has been supporting kids and their families with significant gifts of time, money and special resources through numerous associations across the country, and the funds raised this year will allow this tradition to continue.
