n ELECTION CANDIDATE PROFILES - SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL, STOKE PARK AND CHESWICK WARD (1 SEAT) James Arrowsmith, Liberal Democrats I’m James Arrowsmith, a part-time Civil and Environmental engineering student at UWE and a Cheswick resident. During my time at UWE I’ve represented students as a course representative, a student council member and as an active member of the community. Parking is huge concern for many residents. I want to tackle the root cause of this problem by working closely with UWE and the MoD to find long-term, sustainable solutions

I want to be there for residents. Local politics is about communities, being involved and involving the people that live in them. Equality among residents is very important to me. I have campaigned for both LGBT and disabled rights. I want to put my life experience into supporting the residents of Stoke Park & Cheswick. real progress towards ensuring that the vacant business units on Cheswick Square are occupied. There are still many outstanding problems which I am determined to help resolve. Until recently, I was also a researcher at UWE and I am therefore uniquely placed to help both residents and students find solutions to issues around Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO) and parking.
