Competition for Architecture Students
Conceived for the III ILAFA Steel Design Competition for Architecture Students, this project focuses on the development of a sports complex in a coastal area of Venezuela. Highlighting the structural capabilities of steel in architecture, the complex includes a baseball stadium, a multipurpose area, and 8 training fields, accompanied by urban interventions such as covered plazas, commercial terraces, and an administrative building.
The project is presented as a showcase of the structural feats achievable through the use of steel in architectural projects. This is particularly evident in the support of lightweight roofing for the fields and bleachers, with impressive free spans of 40 meters in length.
Beyond its sports function, the complex stands as a testament to architectural innovation, demonstrating that steel is not only an efficient structural material but also an aesthetic and functional element that can significantly transform the urban landscape.
