WELCOME Last Christmas as I was preparing our coal fire, yes, we still have a coal fire, I noticed an item on the front page of the Fife Free Press about a Christmas lights collection, in aid of the Victoria Hospital Children’s Ward, that had been stolen. The idea to raise money for the ward was sown; all the monies raised tonight will go the work of the ward,

I had been at a show choir event across in the West Coast earlier in the year . It was a fantastic evening and all the children that participated had a great time as did those who came along in support . I decided that perhaps it was time for Glee to come to Fife for primary school children rather than the usual high school competition.

Tonight we will see the skills, talents and enthusiasm of Fife’s school children in a fun environment. Clap along support your own school but remember to support the other schools as the evening is a celebration of the talents of our local schools.

A huge thanks to you for coming along and a huge thanks to all our sponsors. Finally, a very warm welcome to the very first Fife Primary School Show Choir Competition. I do hope you enjoy the evening.

About the Competition 

Competing choirs will all perform the set piece and will complete their repertoire with a second piece chosen from from Glee seasons 1-4.



The Set piece for all schools is 'Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey.



As this is a fun competition there is no requirement for children to wear school uniforms for the final show and participants may, and are indeed encouraged to, dress up



The judges will give feedback to each choir at the end of their second song.



The winning choir will receive the Fife Primary School Show Choir Trophy along with the opportunity to record their songs on CD courtesy of a local recording studio.



The runners up will also be presented with a trophy and all finalists will receive a medal and certificate of participation.

All proceeds from tonight’s competition will be donated to the Victoria Hospital Children’s Ward
