I am pleased to write to you with details of the Sport Scholarship assessment opportunities at RGS Worcester and to introduce myself as the School’s Director of Sport.
My experiences have given me a passion and drive to help young people reach their potential on and off the pitch. As a Level 4 Coach and Coach Developer, I have been involved for over 20 years in nationally successful sports programmes and have completed an MSc in Professional Development in Sport Coaching.
Mr Robert Lewis leads the Rugby programme at RGS Worcester with significant experience both as a professional player and coach. A former Premiership scrum-half, he has represented the Barbarians and played international Sevens for Wales, bringing first-hand knowledge of elite-level performance.
His coaching team includes professional and specialist staff who deliver a high-quality programme focused on individual development, game understanding and long-term progression. Under Mr Lewis’s leadership, the Rugby pathway at RGS Worcester combines strong values with performance excellence and provides outstanding opportunities for pupils of all levels to thrive.

Scholarship Information
and Important Dates
RGS Worcester offers Academic and Sporting Excellence for all. There are Scholarships and means tested Bursaries available.
Our 2025-2026 Sports Scholarship Assessments will take place on the following dates:
Friday 7 November (11+)
Thursday 6 November (13+)
Friday 21 November (16+)
