The RGS Today Monday 23 March 2020 Issue 431

NEW WEEK. NEW GOALS. NEW CHALLENGES. #TOGETHER Today’s Reminders Daily Routine Reminders: Welcome back to remote RGS for the final week of term! Embrace the remote learning and immerse yourself fully in the experience. Just a reminder about some of the key headlines for this week: 

Tutors will be logged in and available between 8.45am and 9.15am.

All boys should ‘register’ with their Tutors at 8.45am via Microsoft Teams as highlighted at last week’s briefing.

The school timetable will be followed as closely as possible. All academic lessons will occur as per the normal timing. The exceptions to this are Games Sessions, PE Lessons, Third Form ExAD, Period 8 and First Form Music (singing) lesson which will not, for the moment, operate. Use these periods as an opportunity to have fresh air and to take a break from screen time.

All students should be logged into the appropriate class on Microsoft Teams for all periods when they would be taught, as per the timings of the school timetable. For the First Form, Period 5 will run from 12.05pm – 12.45pm in line with other year groups.

Workspace: We would strongly recommend, wherever possible (and we appreciate this may not be an option), that you set up a workplace in an area of your homes other than your bedrooms. This provides a valuable distance between work and rest/relaxation which is all the more important during a sustained period of working in isolation at home. It also allows an element of transparency and helpful control in terms of efficiency and effectiveness of working. Mallison Library Lit Quiz Club: The Lit Quiz Club will meet over Microsoft Teams at 1.15pm. We will have a general discussion of literary matters, and hopefully share some recommendations for the closed period, as well as a quiz or two. You will have to provide your own cake on this occasion! If you have not already joined, email me and request to join the Team (TFF). Public Examinations: Mr Dunscombe will circulate further updates in due course. Social Media: We would be grateful if you did not discuss any aspect of the school closure in the media or on social media. In the event of any queries in this regard, please email Senior Master, Mr Pressley.
