Welcome to REVEL Style Magazine’s seventh issue, and our first to house 92 pages! At REVEL, we pride ourselves on “one-upping” our previous efforts, and issue vii testifies to our desire to consistently move forward with our business mission statement. This year we are proud to have celebrated some major milestones for our real estate brand. Midway through the year, we staged a boat cruise event in Toronto to commemorate the achievement of opening 20 offices across Ontario. Shortly thereafter, we breached the 300 REALTOR® threshold and managed to raise $40,000 through our REVEL Charity Ball to benefit Bethlehem Housing and Support Services. With these blessings fresh in our hearts, we decided to nearly double the production of our emblematic REVEL Style Magazine. This seventh issue continues to feature lifestyle articles synonymous with REVEL Style Culture and the perspectives adapted as a result of living the real estate life, day in and day out. However, this time around we believed it necessary to encompass all that REVEL has achieved in a year’s span, while welcoming so many impressive professionals as REALTORS® and leaders of our brand. Based on this viral interest in REVEL, we anticipate more expansion as we continue to influence, or rather, REVELutionize the real estate industry!

As a follow up to our Bitcoin Article in issue VI of REVEL Style Magazine, we are focusing this year’s investment currency target on NFTs. Now the talk of the town, and linked to numerous celebrated billionaire investors, NFTs have become the new craze in the race to make fast cash in the cryptocurrency revolution. An NFT is defined as a non-fungible token, an interchangeable digital asset that is traded over the internet. NFTs are generated and traded in cryptocurrency, which is digital cash with an encrypted key often in the form of a random string of numbers. Similar to Bitcoin and relative crypto currencies, the blockchain transactions are direct, and not mediated through a third party. However, although it is built using the same kind of programming associated with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, that’s where the similarities end.

They’re also equal in value. One Bitcoin is always equal to another Bitcoin. The “fungibility” part of it makes it a trusted currency, and accessible for transactions on the blockchain. NFTs on the other hand, have specific digital signatures that make it impossible to exchange equals, hence why they are termed “non-fungible.” One Vintage NHL goal video clip is not the equivalent of a homemade basketball trick shot clip, just because both of them are NFTs. NFTs are generally one of a kind, or at the very least, on a very limited run, while each has a unique, identifying code.

NFTs exploit that theory by marketing the scarcity, or recreating the item in a digital format, even if it existed in some other form elsewhere. The aforementioned video clip is an example of recreating digital art to mimic a video easily accessible through other mediums, thereby creating a new and arguable, more fashionable version of the entity. Digital artist, Mike Winklemann, crafted a composite of 5,000 daily drawings to create one of the most famous NFT creations to date - “EVERYDAYS: The First 5000 Days,” sold at Christie’s for a record breaking $69.3 million dollars! You may be

asking what makes an NFT so special, if you can access the original content for free via Instagram or a Youtube video? The answer is quite simple, an NFT allows the buyer to own the original item. The digital currency also contains built-in authentication, which serves as proof and insurance of ownership. Collectors seeking to purchase NFTs appreciate the digital bragging rights of owning almost as much as they appreciate the NFT itself.

So how does it work, and how can you profit from such an investment, or creation for that matter? As noted earlier, NFTs, like Bitcoin, exist on a blockchain, which is a distributed public ledger that records transactions. More specifically, NFTs are hosted on the Ethereum blockchain, although some other blockchains support them as well. An NFT is created, or “minted” from digital objects that represent both tangible and intangible items. For example, Art, Videos, Collectibles, GIFs, Virtual Avatars and Video Game Skins, Designer Sneakers, Music, and even Literature. Most infamously, even Tweets Count. Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey sold his first ever tweet as an NFT for more than 2.9 million.

The whole point of the NFT phenomenon is to create what is termed a ‘digital scarcity,’ which stands in contrast to most digital creations, which

The jury is still out, although an investor in this digital landscape must understand that just like anything valuable in any market, an NFT’s value is based entirely on what someone else is willing to pay for it. Therefore, the old adage of supply and demand comes into play more so than current economical or global investing climates. So why not place all of your money on an ugly digital monkey - he may sing you a circus song as melodic as the sound of money escalating in your bank account. Or just sit back and spectate, while this craze attempts to push its way into your investment portfolio. Either way, NFTs aren’t going away anytime soon.

First and foremost, you will need to acquire a digital wallet that allows you to store NFTs and cryptocurrencies. Also, you will most likely need to purchase some cryptocurrency, like Ether, depending on what currencies your NFT provider accepts. You can buy crypto

or the editor, to validate the art, the artist can sell directly to the consumer as an NFT, which also provides better profit margins and less profit sharing. And the notion of art has also diversified as a result of NFTs. Brand names have auctioned off NFT art, while GIFs have sold for record amounts.

And like Bitcoin, NFTs unique data makes it easy to verify ownership and transfer tokens between owners. The owner or creator can also store specific information inside the NFT. ow that the global pandemic is funneling into the reality of less restrictions and the elimination of mask mandates, travel and the ability to travel is trending, while the process of travel is adopting new and renewed conveniences to better service the ominous downfalls of “travel time.” One such convenience, gaining momentum, is the resurgence of flying private over commercial. For those of you, like me, whose limited understanding of the sport is relegated to brief highlights and celebratory wins characterized by exorbitant champagne spraying, Formula 1 Racing might seem insignificant, or perhaps even locally irrelevant with transponded television coverage reserved solely for early Sunday mornings. However, on international terms, Formula 1 Racing commands a respect unparalleled by sports enthusiasts, far and wide.

A brief education: The word “Formula” in the name refers to the set of rules to which all participants’ cars must conform. A Formula One season consists of a series of races, known as Grand Prix, which take place worldwide on both purpose-built circuits and closed public roads. Each driver must hold a valid “Super License,” the highest class of racing license issued by the FIA. Finally, the “1” refers to the tracks on which the races take place that must be graded “1,” the highest grade-rating issued by the FIA.
