@ahigginsinteriors

Ashley Higgins is a Fort Worth-based designer, also known as “the girl with the green couch” — a Rowe Madeline Sofa in gorgeous green velvet! After moving several times in the last dozen years, Ashley’s love for interiors grew and developed into a full time creative career. Her design preferences often sway towards traditional design, but her “chic and ageless but not overly fancy” style often incorporates playful color, prints and mixed patterns. Ashley’s overall goal is for every client’s space to feel exceptionally put-together and timeless, but as the backdrop to their lives it should also feel comfortable, homey, and family-friendly.

My Rowe Design

Cozy quality time with loved ones was the inspiration for Ashley Higgins’s My Rowe Design, evoking rainy days and snowy evenings spent snuggling up with a book or a deck of cards. “I pictured this room never being allowed to house a television,” the designer describes her space, imagining instead a playful gathering place for family and friends. Ashley’s design is both relaxing and invigorating, with a vivid palette that draws inspiration from a favorite film. “As I dreamt up this space, I kept being drawn back to the movie Emma…each room holding pastels and bright walls, colors melting into another.” A brilliant pink and red floral wallpaper strikes a bold note in this space, as well as a pair of Brooke Chairs in vivid pistachio with an unexpected pop of contrast from dark red piping. The comfortably chic Boden Sofa in apricot velvet is a particular favorite of Ashley’s, bringing another pastel into the mix along with the luxe yet kid-friendly appeal of velvet.

“I wanted this room to be... a place to read, play games, do a puzzle, and to cozy up & spend time with family.

Iconic elements abound in this space, from the timeless elegance of basketweave and chinoiserie prints — seen here on the Finch Dining Banquette and Tinsley Chair — to the familiar symbols of playing cards in the artwork. Even the curvaceous sides of our Adobe Spot Table make it resemble a game piece just waiting to be placed on a board, the perfect accessory for this fun yet elevated family space.

Favorite New Design Trend

I’m loving all the color that everyone is getting more excited [about], with fewer white and neutral spaces. I think my clients are feeling more open to colorful sofas and chairs or bright draperies and walls, and I truly love the way that color can completely change a room.

My Rowe Design by Lexi Grace Design

Lexi Lundberg’s ultimate inspiration can be summed up in one word: mysa. This unique term originates in Swedish, translating to “cozy” but reaching beyond simple coziness.

“It involves being relaxed,” explains the designer, “spending time with friends, being in the moment and enjoying it with all your senses.” Her My Rowe Design encapsulates this idea perfectly, featuring our streamlined Oaklynn Bed and layers of textiles and rugs, all in a warm neutral palette.

FAVORITE MATERIALS

[I wanted] to create a relaxing escape through layered textures with rich tones of earthy neutrals.

“Our favorite Rowe piece selected for our design is the Leander Chair,” says Lexi, who used a pair of these to create a welcoming spot to enjoy the fireplace. “We absolutely love the scale of the piece,” she adds, “and the ability to curl up in it and relax.”

The stylish and soothing curves of the Neoma Bench bring a pop of contrast in a rich shade of cocoa to this sophisticated haven. With mysa in mind, the design team envisioned a space for a laid-back couple to enjoy, “where the responsibilities and worries of the day can fade.”

My Rowe Design

Megan’s inspiration for her My Rowe Design came straight from the modern glamour of Paris, envisioning a stylish haven for energizing yet relaxing downtime. She designed this chic lounge space with a fun and feminine aesthetic in mind, created for “the leading ladies in town” to gather for after-work cocktails. In Megan’s imagination, this entrepreneurial crowd would “[discuss] how they are running their businesses and households, while enjoying their beautiful city, family and friends.” A variety of seating arrangements make socializing a breeze, from our slipcovered Odessa Banquettes and upholstered Neoma Benches to a collection of Gigi Ottomans.

“I was inspired by the idea of a vintage Parisian cocktail lounge for ladies.

Megan’s lounge is furnished in a warm and inviting palette of sophisticated earth tones, with drinkware and accents in jewel tones and warm silver that complement the aesthetic. Bold wallpaper in a swirled marble pattern reflects the designer’s love of floor-to-ceiling print. “We are using more wallpaper than ever,” says Megan, “it’s the ultimate art on your walls and truly transforms any space.” The use of assorted Gigi Ottomans is an opportunity to showcase one of our most versatile pieces in a range of color and pattern that feels like a movable collection of art.
