Gabriel India Limited - China Vendor Meet

abriel India Limited sources almost 14% of its parts and components from China suppliers. In order to strengthen its partnership with China, Gabriel India Limited hosted a vendor meet at Ningbo, China in the presence of 18 vendor partners. The theme was ‘Pragati’ (Hindi word meaning Progress).

The forum served as a platform to thank the vendors for their continued support and also to convey the expectations. A Supplier Quality Manual was launched formally and best performing vendors were recognised.

YMA celebrated its 10th Annual foundation day on 6th March 2018 in Chennai with employees and family members. Mr. Mun Jae Lee, CY Myutec, Managing Director inaugurated the event. Dance programmes were organised to entertain the employees and their kids. Long service awards were also presented during the event.

Mr Tribhuvan Rasyara, COO, MAHLE Behr India Private Limited addressed the audience and shared MBIPL’s vision of being the “most preferred choice of customers”. abriel India Limited (GIL) conducted LSIP on 16th-17th March 2018 at Pune. The annual goal-setting process brought together 140 employees in the mid-managerial level and above, with an objective of exceeding customer expectations and reaching new milestones as ‘One Gabriel, One Team.’ The 2-day collaborative process started with the streaming of an inspiring message from Mrs. Anjali Singh, Chairperson, Gabriel India Limited. Voice of customers and suppliers were also shared. SBU heads, functional heads and plant heads presented focus areas for 2018-19. This was followed by cross-pollination of expectations. Mr. Sumit Bhatnagar, Group Head, HR, moderated the event.

This was followed by an evening of entertainment, recognition for exceptional performance and dinner.

The event also celebrated ‘The Rewards Nite 2018’, honouring the achievers who go the extra mile.

TATA TECHNOLOGY DAY MAHLE Behr strengthens its Testing Facility at Chakan

MAHLE Behr India - Battery Thermal Management

The team installed its 5th Visco testing rig at the Chakan plant. With an extended operating range up to 6000 rpm, and increased measurement accuracy below 20 microns, the rig is indigenously developed with integrated chuck and spindle. It consumes less energy and requires lesser maintenance. The team also installed Automated Leak Measurement (ALM) for HVAC testing. ALM enables fully automated testing that is fail-safe and error-free with minimum human intervention.

Later, TATA Motors, through its electric vehicle program, acquired a government EESL order for 10,000 e-cars. MAHLE Behr India developed the battery cooling unit for TATA. MAHLE Behr India is now the only company in India that provides battery cooling solutions.

BIPL engineering team installed a Sonic Tester in Chakan plant, to identify the baffle leak in evaporators. The equipment works on ultrasonic principles and helps identify micro leakages up to 0.0005 mm with a cycle time of less than 2 seconds.

MAHLE Filter Systems - Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI) Products

A

s the Indian automotive industry gears up to Bharat Stage VI (BS-VI) emission standard by 2020, MFSIPL R&D team has taken the lead to manufacture products that are BS-VI compliant. MFSIPL introduced two indigenously designed and developed BS-VI products

I) Air Cleaners for Passenger Vehicles: MFSIPL acquired its MAHLE Filter Systems - First Innovation Bay

FSIPL filed two international patents and received one national patent in 2017. This year, the R&D team has sent four more new patent filing requests to MAHLE GmbH for international patents. In order to encourage the efforts and strengthen the current innovation drive, MFSIPL has constructed state of the art Innovation Bay in its R&D office at Gurgaon. It was inaugurated by Mr. Sunil Kaul (Group President – Excellence in Manufacturing Innovation & Technology) on 10th February 2018. The bay will provide a conducive environment to develop new innovative ideas. The bay includes a tear-down area, product display, technical library and direct access to MAHLE’s benchmarking database.

first BS-VI air cleaner business from Mahindra. Mahindra decided to change its adopted air cleaner technology, i.e. from ‘Foam type’ to ‘Cellulose type’ filter media, to achieve high filtration efficiency. MFSIPL team provided the filter media which can give filtration efficiency of 99.9% for particle size of 5 µm. and above.

II) Air Cleaner for Commercial Vehicles: MFSIPL R&D team has designed a simple and robust air cleaner for commercial vehicle segment in India. The smartly designed air cleaner comes in three sizes for the air flow requirements of different vehicles, suitable for BS-IV and BS-VI norms. MFSIPL will launch the first variant on a truck from Mahindra Truck and Bus Division with name – ‘AeroCop 0610’, indicating the air flow range handled i.e. from 6 m³/min. to 10 m³/min.

Community Conservation SNS Foundation has worked for community conservation since 2009 to promote the wellbeing of local communities living in and around wildlife habitats. The main focus is to improve rural infrastructure, skill development, health, sanitation and access to quality education of the local community.

The community conservation started from 2014 with the opening of Jawai Leopard Camp. The activities covered five main villages of Perwa, Jivda, Meeno Ki Dhanee, Sena and Biselpur in addition to a few hamlets around the main villages.
