It gives me immense pleasure to share with you the business results for Q3 2017. The numbers are an outcome of your collective passion and dedication. We are on track to deliver record KPIs for the year and I look forward to close the year on a higher note with the same zeal and enthusiasm! The hard work has paid off in the number of firsts that we have delivered in Q3 2017. We set a historical record in billing points, production and shipments for Q3 for Whirlpool India. We launched new differentiated products across categories - VitaMagic, Orion and ACE XL, while also focusing on growth opportunities in new business and service. I would like to thank you for the great culture we have built , which is recognized both by external industry experts and our internal engagement scores. Whirlpool India has been recognized as one of India’s Best 100 Companies to Work by Great Place to Work Institute for the 3rd consecutive year. Such recognitions affirm our success in having created a culture of pride, accountability and belongingness. Lastly, thanks to all of you for participating in the recently concluded internal Employee Engagement Survey. We’ve recorded a stupendous 99% participation, which is the highest across the globe.

Companies to work for India in 2016 In July 2017, Whirlpool of India Limited was recognized among the list of top 100 companies to work for in India for the year 2016. The list is published every year by ‘Great Place to Work (GPTW)’. GPTW helps organizations identify, create and sustain great workplaces through the development of high-trust workplace cultures. It is an external award that recognizes organizations which create a trust-based work culture and deliver the best business results. As a part of the GPTW’s ‘India’s Best Companies to Work for 2016 Study’, about 800 organizations across industries applied to be assessed. These organizations were studied to understand how to develop a unique employee–centric framework that measures the levels of Trust, Pride and Camaraderie prevalent in an organization.

Manufacturing Today Conference & Awards - PRO 6th Annual Manufacturing Today Conference & Awards recognized Whirlpool PRO plant as Winner in “Excellence in Quality Development” & Runners-up in “Excellence in Human Resources” held on September 22, 2017 at Hyatt Regency, Pune. Manufacturing Excellence is one of the most prestigious awards which recognizes the achievements of the country’s best-in-class in the manufacturing business. It acknowledges the efforts of people and projects across companies & verticals that have outshone others. The eminent jury comprising of distinguished industry and academic leaders chooses the final winners through a rigorous, fair and transparent process. PRO plant Senior Director, AHB Narayana Reddy said while accepting the award “It is indeed a proud moment for us to receive this recognition. I am happy with the way the company is performing “. It is the passion and hard-work of all Whirlpoolians...that has made this prestigious win possible for us.
State Level Awards for Excellence in Energy Conservation & Management - PRO On July 22, 2017, at the 11th edition of the State Level Awards for Excellence in Energy Conservation & Management held at the Hotel Novotel, Pune, Whirlpool PRO Plant was awarded the 3rd Prize in General Category for the Energy Conservation measures undertaken. Deepak Patil, General Manager Operations & D.K. Mahadik, Senior Manager Maintenance, received the award on behalf of Whirlpool, from Mr. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Honorable Cabinet Minister for Energy, Government of Maharashtra. The Awards for Excellence in Energy Conservation & Management was instituted by the Government of Maharashtra with the objective of giving state recognition to organizations who have taken extra efforts for efficient utilization, management and conservation of energy. Congratulating the PRO team, Vikas Singhal, Vice President, Manufacturing & SC said, “This is an attestation to the efforts taken towards energy management in PRO. Congratulations PRO Team and let’s continue to set new milestones and break records.”

Bringing Smiles
There are very few moments in our life which give us sustained satisfaction of fulfillment and nothing can be more beautiful than making someone smile. Our Global Consumer Design (GCD) team created such moments & made us proud by showcasing their creativity by painting the school walls of Utsav Foundation Centre. Utsav Foundation is a school founded for the development of slum children. The painted walls showcase the themes of aquarium, jungle life, animals, airplanes etc. The children were all thrilled & astonished when they entered the school next day. The beautiful painted walls looked so compelling & reflect the love, care, energy & passion of the team. The impression that was made by this team will always remain at Utsav Foundation forever & will bring a smile to many faces everyday.
Success Story OPEX Black Belt Certification 1st OPEX Black Belt Certification – 2017 – Sujit S Naik (Senior Engineer, Dishwasher Technology, GTEC) Sujit S Naik received his Black Belt Certification on 1-Aug, 2017. He was trained in OPEX Class #9 of India Opex Class 2013 and attained his BB certification by successfully completing 4 OPEX projects. Sujit has been using OPEX in all of his project with constant strive to develop knowledge.
The critical projects Sujit completed are: Silverware Basket Design – Mojawe Bending Nozzle design for better wash performance Cost optimization on DW door Bulk loading feature for silverware in DW
All of his projects have direct effect on product performance & cost for dishwashers and also have an added value to consumers in terms of ease of use. He has been continuously applying Opex tools in all his projects with his thought process and data collection and analysis.
