Looking ahead at The Fire Station throughout 2022 The Fire Station is Sunderland's brandnew, £18m state-of-the-art live music and performance venue in the heart of the city's Cultural Quarter and its programme is packed to the rafters with world-class talent! Whether you’re an indie rock champion, adventurous jazzer, theatre devotee, stand-up comedy fan or just after a great night out, their programme is packed with entertainment for all tastes. Firestarters is The Fire Station's red hot opening programme running from December to June 2022. Multi platinum singer songwriter Emeli Sandé kick-starts 2022 with a powerful, intimate performance on Saturday 15 January. Other highlights for the New Year include a solo show from vital folk-troubadour Richard Dawson on Saturday 22 January, UK country stars The Shires on Thursday 27 January, Amy Winehouse: A Celebration of her Life and Emeli Sandé Work with the National Youth Photo:Olivia Jazz Orchestra on Thursday Lifungula 10 February, Kodo - the globally renowned Japanese professional taiko drumming troupe on Wed 16 February, a production of Ibsen's A Doll's House on Thursday 17 February and a performance by The Transatlantic Ensemble of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours on Friday 18 February. And during half term week Monday 21-Saturday 26 February, they're throwing the doors and inviting amateur performers

Highlights for spring include a highly anticipated show by former Maccabees frontman Orlando Weeks on the back of his new album on Sunday 13 March, Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo sell-out comedy sensation Gary Delaney: Gary in Punderland on Saturday 26 March, and Speakeasy - a thrilling dance spectacle from Southpaw which combines vintage and contemporary styles from breakdance to Lindyhop on Friday 8 April.
