For the four children of David (Dai) Alan Rees and Eileen Ivy Scott, this ‘red photo album’ has been a constant presence in the family home.
This small 26 x 17.7 cm album would periodically be taken out and poured over, as it represented some of the earliest photos of Dai Rees, including a number of photos from Dai’s national service in Germany.
This publication includes all of the 105 photos contained in the album. From the inscriptions on the reverse, it would appear the dates for the photos cover the period 1949 to 1951.
Over the years it is clear that a handful of photos have been taken out, and a couple are loose inserts.
