POETRY

When the World Comes Crashing Down

When all of a sudden there is an act of hate, Politicians take it as a time to berate.

When the whole world comes crashing down,

It is seen as a time to put on a false crown. It is taken as a time to blame Muslim migration. Claiming no Muslims is the ‘final solution.’

It is taken as a time to brainwash the ignorant, Creating a hate wave, like that of a tyrant. Yet they never saw the innocent faces of the children who died, And they never saw the tears fall from their mothers’ eyes. Yet they never heard the last words of the first victim, ‘Hello brother,’ depicting the virtue of a true Muslim.

‘I should not be standing in front of you. I should be lying beside you.’

The muttering of a boy in the wheelchair Beside his father and brother’s grave knowing life is unfair.

They never met the woman who used herself as a human shield’

And from her wounds she never healed. They never felt the pain of the boy who lost his youth director, brother, and best friend, A pain that seems to never end. They never gained the courage to stop a gunman,

Unlike the multiple victims who are considered as inhuman.

None of this would change their minds, Because they can see yet they are blind. And their hearts will never feel, Because for love, there is an impermeable seal.

II | 4 Weeks | Spring 2020

Harmonious Living

As the melodic beauty from the viola and piano perfectly come together with the beautiful scenery of the surroundings. Hearts are able to blend in with the environment and find ease in the unity between nature and music. The Murtadella home is a cozy space that allows natural light to channel through from the front of the house, the back of the house, and through a sky light strategically placed above the stairs. This creates a cozy space that allows minds to find ease in their current setting.

GALAXY BRIDGE

Studio I | 3 Weeks | Spring 2020

As a person travels across this bridge, one feels more inclined to travel toward the opposite end. It allows for an enjoyable experience that is out of this world. This bridge should make people feel as though they are walking through a different planet. Due to the mystic feeling of walking under large masts that make users feel small, it makes a unique environment.

Design Challenge: during this project is when the world went into shutdown due to the pandemic. I had to adapt and build the bridge and take pictures at home.

Studio III | 2 Weeks | Fall 2021

Emergence

Coming from afar not knowing what to expect, and by an emerging form you have been met.

Among a barren plaza stands a unique figure. It draws people toward it, only seeming to get bigger. Compared to it you will feel tiny but standing in it you will be overtaken by its beauty.

Inside stands a figure made of stained glass.

It sends light throughout the mass. Colors gleaming all around. Created by stained glass panels high above the ground. When you come at night, you will be greeted by glowing star light.

A form that reaches to the sky Making one numb to time passing by. An experience you will not want to miss. A journey through true architectural bliss.

A Break in Time

To the average person, an airport entails stress and fatigue. This small terminal intends to create the antithesis, achieved through a fluid form and moment of pause. In this terminal, patrons can move along with a sense of peace and navigate it with ease.

Charlotte. The simple and unique chair that embraces curves.

What makes Charlotte, the chair, so unique are the elegant curves that make the legs and the arms, while still embracing a playful quality through that elegance.

Charlotte, the chair which embraces uniqueness through simplicity. There are 8 pieces that make up the chair, and no hardware is necessary to keep the chair together, which makes for an easy build.

Charlotte is the chair that is as unique as you are, fitting perfectly into your unique style.

A feeling that evokes the urge for a positive change.

ABOUT ME!

I may seem like a nerd who always has their head stuck in their work, but I actually have many hob bies that I am passionate about. I find pleasure in baking and making new recipes. I have gone as far as making Lavader ice cream after try ing it abroad. Legend has it that it was tasty and a great consistency. I also adore traveling. In the summer of 2022 I had the opportu nity to study abroad with a group of my architecture friends and two of my amazing professors to Italy and Spain. I fell in love with everything! I was also unable to stop taking pictures, some of which are displayed on the next page.

When I am too broke and too busy to travel I let out my energy by playing sports. I played tennis for seven years and still enjoy hitting the courts when I can find someone to play with me. I have also tried play ing soccer and volleyball after starting college. I still have a long ways to go before I am good, but I hope to continue playing with friends to get more practice!
