Bewitching Hour Magic Door 奇迹之门-“刘谦”及 “刘谦的朋友”魔术专场

wo nights of magic and comedy are headed to Qingdao this witches season. First up on October 28, is an ensemble show featuring some of China’s greatest magical talents.

Topping the bill is Chen Guanlin, with his own form of superior magic. Famous for his TV appearances, he is regularly name checked by others plying their trade on the circuit as being their inspiration. Well versed in both spectacular, prop derived trickery and close-up sleight of hand, perhaps Guanin’s greatest talent is his interaction with his audience. Watching him, it is impossible not to get drawn into his world. Also performing is Lin Haoping whose show is as funny as it is mystifying. Lin’s stage presence is tinted with a black humour that is as captivating as the tricks performed with a deft talent. Shi-Jie Liu is one of the mainland’s fastest rising stars. Another dark performer, he was voted this year’s best rookie and his cold, stern stage persona masks his fanatical dedication to his craft and undeniable ability. Finally, Ho Xuan Ying is just 14 years old but has already won awards at the Hong Kong Magic Festival. October 29 sees another night of magic and mystery, this time from the masterful Liu Qian. Perhaps the most well known magician to perform in Qingdao over these Halloween nights, Qian has been collecting prestigious awards for magic for the last 20 something years. he Temple of Nomad concept is simple: take musicians from Australia and the United Kingdom and tour them around the world, introducing new sounds to new people, and new people and sounds to the musicians. Tonight sees the latest foray into China by Ed and Jack, two nomadic musicians - they have been to more than 60 countries to date - well versed in the guitar and flute and the vocal interpretation of their experiences. The duo have travelled extensively for much of their lives and say that the experience provides the nutrients for their sound. The pair says that their music has been greatly influenced by their experiences of meditation and qigong, disciplines they have studied for years.
