ACE FREHLEY

Founding Guitarist for KISS, died at 74

Ace Frehley was born as Paul Daniel Frehley on April 27th, 1951 in the Bronx, New York. His early life was complete submersion in music, his whole family played Piano and Guitar. His father was a church Organist and his mother played Piano and his siblings played Piano and Guitar. He got his first Electric Guitar as a gift at age 13 and devoted his life to learning that instrument. He never went to music school and never had a music lesson, he was a true self-taught prodigy who was later declared by Guitar World Magazine, to be one of the greatest Metal Guitarists of all time. Quite an achievement.

Early in school Frehley had a lot of trouble, joining a gang and spending a lot of time in the streets of New York. He was expelled from multiple high schools and eventually dropped out

altogether. His nickname “Ace” was given to him by his gang friends for his easy ability to pick up the ladies and it stuck with him for the rest of his life. Eventually, music saved him from himself, when one of his high school bands, Cathedral, began getting gigs and he started to have some success, his family convinced him to go back to school and get a diploma and he did. His earliest foray into the real Rock scene was his start as a Roadie for Jimmy Hendrix. He learned the ins and outs of the industry from Hendrix. Early on aside from small gigs, one of his early bands, Molimo signed a contract and recorded half of an album with RCA Records, but soon after he auditioned for a Lead Guitarist role of a new band, and it was there that he met Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss and the rest is, Rock Legend KISS was formed.

Ace aka Spaceman Ace was the lead guitarist for KISS from 1972 to 1982 and then again from 1996 until 2002. He took a hiatus in the 80s to try his shot at a solo Career which had a fair amount of success. His debut Solo album titled Ace Frehley reached Platinum status. And after his return and subsequent departure after their “First” “farewell tour”, he continued to make solo albums with his most recent album, 10,000 Volts releasing to modest success in 2024. But for most fans and the world at large he will always be remembered as the legendary Lead Guitarist of KISS, a role that earned him his spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in the annals of

history. He was known for using unique custom made guitars that emitted smoke, pyrotechnic fireworks, sparks and light as he played his incredible rifts. One would be hard pressed to find a more recognizable band or guitarist than Ace Frehley and KISS, so to say he will never be forgotten is an understatement, with billions of fans around the world, his memory will live on forever. It is still sad that his life was cut tragically short after a slip and fall in his home left him with a brain bleed that ultimately ended his life on October 16th, 2025 after a few weeks on life support. Space Ace, may you rock on for eternity and Rest in Peace.

DIANE KEATON

Oscar-winning Star died of pneumonia at age 79

Diane Keaton Hall was born on January 5th, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. At an early age Diane found an admiration for acting. Her mother won the “Mrs. Los Angeles” Pageant which was a pageant designed for housewives, and the excitement and theatrics of the pageant were credited as her earliest interest into the acting world, especially the stage. She grew up admiring Audrey Hepburn on stage and screen and was inspired to follow the same path.

Diane Keaton, was an immediate success in Broadway, earning a Tony award for her second-ever role. She began as an understudy for the leading role of Sheila in the production of Hair. And several months later auditioned for the leading lady role in Woody Allen’s Play it Again, Sam, where she was awarded a Tony award for her role in 1969. The rest is history.

Her career in TV and movies began the next year with roles in a televised deodorant commercial and her first big screen role in the film Lovers and Other Strangers. But her big break came when she was cast as Al Pacino’s wife in Godfather and its sequels. She then went on to star and co-star in eight Woody Allen Films over the years, as he loved her performance on stage with him in Play it Again, Sam.

In 1977 she won the Academy Award for Best Actress, for her iconic role in Annie Hall. Keaton was known for being eccentric, different and also very versatile in the movie industry. She had her own unique style, often wearing turtlenecks, when others were wearing shorts in the California sun and she was able to portray any role

presented. From Promiscuous School Girl, to Housewife, to Drama and Comedy, Diane was able to believably portray them all. Some of her most memorable roles outside of Annie Hall and The Godfather Trilogy were Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club, Manhattan Murder Mystery and Shoot the Moon. Continued on page 10

Continued from page 9

She was recognized often for her talents, she was nominated for four Academy Awards, winning one. There were eight Golden Globe nominations with two wins. And over thirty other nominations across the industry and over a dozen wins of smaller awards. The only thing more prolific than her collection of awards was her collection of eligible bachelors. Over the years she dated some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including: Woody Allen, Warren Beatty and Al Pacino. Diane Keaton had a career spanning nearly 60 years and was recognized for her talent far and wide. Unfortunately, her reign came to an end on October 11th, 2025 after losing a short battle with Pneumonia. Diane, you were a bright light among stars and will be missed but never forgotten by your fans, colleagues, family and friends. May you Rest in Peace. By

INNER CIRCLE

“BAD BOYS” Goes viral again with the #THEFOOTPURSUITCHALLENGE

The Grammy Award-winning reggae legends Inner Circle, known worldwide as The Bad Boys of Reggae, are setting the internet ablaze once again. Their iconic hit “Bad Boys” — the RIAA Platinum anthem made famous by the COPS TV show and the Bad Boys film franchise, which has now surpassed $1 billion in global box office gross — has sparked a new viral phenomenon: the #FootPursuitChallenge.

The trend has exploded across social media, surpassing 2 billion views on all platforms as creators (MrBeast), couples, cops, and celebrities (Jessie James Decker) join in on the fun. The premise? One person gets a five-second head start before their partner chases them — all set to that unforgettable “Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do?” hook. The playful mix of competition, comedy, and connection has captivated audiences worldwide.

When MrBeast jumped into the challenge (watch the clip here with over 120 million views), the momentum skyrocketed. Since then, the trend has racked up more than 1 billion TikTok views, 770 million on Instagram, 300 million on YouTube, and 350 million Spotify streams — with 6 million monthly listeners and counting.Inside Edition reported on the trend.

For over five decades, Inner Circle has defined the global sound of reggae. Formed in Kingston, Jamaica, brothers Ian and Roger Lewis built a legacy of timeless hits and uplifting performances that continue to inspire fans across generations.

Their breakout hit “Bad Boys” became a pop culture staple, while “Sweat (A La La La La Long)” remains a worldwide favorite — now certified Gold in the U.K., more than 30 years after its release. The band’s energy and message of love and unity have earned them fans on every continent.

Now based in Miami, Inner Circle’s impact extends beyond music. The city recently honored the band with a street naming — “Bad Boys Bad Boys” — located in Liberty City along NW 71st Street and 18th Avenue. The ceremony, attended by city officials, fans, and the band members, celebrated their enduring influence on reggae and community culture.

SAMPALUE & QUEEN IMINIAH

Jamaica Meets the Diaspora in Powerful New Anthem: “Africa Your Time To Shine”

“Africa Your Time to Shine’, a song by Sampalue and Queen Iminah espousing black pride, was released on October 20, celebrated as National Heroes Day in Jamaica.

Co-produced by Sampalue (Garfield Phillips) and Nigel Burrell, it is driven by a Nyahbinghi beat synonymous with Rastafari and an important sound, given ‘Africa Your Time to Shine’s Pan African message.

Sampalue, who has produced hits for artists like Lady Saw, Marcia Griffiths, Luciano, Beenie Man, Sanchez, Ghost, and the late Dennis Brown, explained that the traditional sounds of Africa, particularly the drums used for centuries, resonate deeply with people. He drew inspiration from Bob Marley’s quote, “You feel it in the one drop and you still find time to Rock.”

Sampalue was linked with Queen Iminah through a mutual friend, Jahwarri. Queen Iminah, a Recording Artist and Global Changemaker based in Oakland, California, has Jamaican and African-American Rastafarian heritage. They found common ground on the black experience and agreed to collaborate, which resulted in ‘Africa Your Time to Shine’

Queen Iminah, a protege of R&B legends Tony Toni Tone and Afrobeat legend Tony Allen, also contributed background vocals to the song. Also playing on 'Africa Your Time to Shine’ are Kirk Bennett on drums, Ras Max on percussion, Paul “Wrongmove” Crosdale on keyboards, with Harmonique & Limey Murray on backing vocals.

The track rides the Africa Rise Riddim, a powerful and uplifting single produced by Red Gold and Green Productions, and released on the Red Gold and Green label. With Sampalue’s legendary production style and Queen Iminah’s soulful voice, the song is a cross-cultural tribute calling for unity, pride, and progress.

National Heroes Day is a hallowed holiday in Jamaica. The achievements of the country’s seven National Heroes (including Pan African icon Marcus Garvey) are acknowledged.

‘Africa Your Time to Shine’ by Sampalue and Queen Iminah is now available on all platforms.

ROMAIN VIRGO

Wins Male Reggae Artist of the Year at the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards

Romain Virgo has been named Male Reggae Artist of the Year at the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards, marking his second straight win in the category! He was also nominated for Reggae Album of the Year with The Gentle Man, and for both Reggae Collaboration of the Year and Reggae Song of the Year with his Masicka-featuring track “Been There Before."

As we reflect on the 3rd Annual Caribbean Music Awards, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. What began as a vision to celebrate honor the voices of the Caribbean has now grown into a movement that continues to inspire, unite, and uplift.

Getting here was not without its challenges. From the early hurdles of building something new to the many obstacles along the way, every step has been a true test of resilience and dedication. But standing together as one Caribbean community, we’ve proven that our culture and our music are worth the fight and the results speak for themselves.

This year marks a powerful milestone not only celebrating our third year but also our new partnership with BET, a partnership that speaks volumes about the growth and elevation of

Caribbean music across the world. Together, we are taking our culture to new heights, showcasing its vibrance, depth, and global impact like never before.

To every artist, nominee, honoree, presenter, sponsor, and fan thank you. To the press and media partners who continue to spread our story and amplify our voices, and to the incredible artist teams whose dedication behind the scenes makes these moments possible, we are deeply grateful. The energy in the theater, the love shared online, and the conversations happening across borders remind us that Caribbean music is not just regional it is universal.

Now, the journey continues. It is important that we all tune in on Friday, September 12th at 8PM EST on BET to watch the airing of the Caribbean Music Awards. Share the tunein assets, spread the word, and let’s all do our part in showing up for the culture.

This night was a true celebration of culture, legacy, and the limitless future of our music. With your continued support, we will keep building, keep elevating, and keep shining the brightest light possible on Caribbean artistry. By VPRecords.com u

November will bring many obstacles to Aries that this fiery sign will have to deal with. There may be disagreements at work, and you will have to defend your opinion. There may also be someone close to you who will try to betray you.

November will bring Taurus a lot of motivation to change their lives. You will place the greatest emphasis on your health, as you will also face mild health problems during this period. So try to change your diet so that you feel healthy and full of energy.

In November, Gemini can look forward to many social events. Due to the pleasant demeanour that you will definitely not lack, you will start friendships with new, very interesting people, with whom a common professional future can even emerge.

In November, Cancer will be very patient, and they will be successful in meeting their goals. Your motivation and determination will be high during this period, so don't be afraid to embark on something you've been putting off for a long time. You will manage twice as much as normal, and you will not even feel tired.

November will bring Leo a depressing mood. You will get tired and feel like closing up. At the same time, you should protect yourself during this bleak period and warmly dress so that you are not stricken by some illness, which you will be more prone to this month.

November awakens in Virgo the ability to communicate. You will become the centre of attention in the company of your friends. All your friends will be happy to listen to your opinions and stories, and you will gain sympathy from many people.

November awakens in Libra a sense of justice and the ability to influence surroundings. This month, you will find yourself in situations that need to be handled with a cool head and rationally, which will be a piece of cake for you and your boss at work, and colleagues will appreciate it. As for your love

November will bring out an intellectual side of Scorpios, and they will crave knowledge. Also, your memory will be very good, so you can merge it into studies of something quite challenging as now is a time when you have the ability to absorb a lot of information.

At the beginning of November, Sagittarians might feel some tiredness, maybe even have a strong headache. That might affect your mood and your mental state as well. Understanding is what you need the most this month; you can search for it in your family.

In November, Capricorns will be filled with happiness. Your mind will be very creative, so you feel a need to experiment in many aspects of your life. You can use this creative energy and do the wall painting or reconstructions in your house that you have been planning to do for quite some time.

In November, Aquarians will not stop their thinking process for a moment. You will start thinking about your life, but you will get into a bubble of overthinking, and it will be hard for you to get out of there. Do not let yourself be down because of these states.

Pisces can relax in November because nothing will bother them this month, and they will be able to enjoy life fully. In this time period, it will be best for you to focus on the people close to you. Thanks to your empathy and kindness, you can help anyone who will need it, and that will warm your heart. A smile on the faces of your relatives will be key for you this month.
