Can you discuss some recent trends or changes you've observed in the San Francisco Bay Area real estate market? How have these changes influenced your approach to brokerage?
The Bay Area real estate scene is always buzzing, but lately, I've noticed a real shift in what buyers are looking for. Sustainability and smart tech integration are at the top of everyone's list. It's not just about a beautiful home anymore; it's about a smart, eco-conscious lifestyle. We've embraced this wholeheartedly at our boutique brokerage, showcasing properties that embody these values. It's about attracting those forward-thinking buyers and helping our sellers tell their home's story in a way that resonates.
Competition in the real estate industry can be fierce. How do you differentiate yourself and your brokerage from others in the area?
We believe in the power of personal connection. It's not about transactions; it's about building lasting relationships. We combine deep local knowledge with cutting-edge technology to ensure a smooth experience, but the heart of it all is our commitment to finding clients not just a property, but a true home.
What strategies do you employ to stay ahead of the competition and maintain a strong market presence?
We're constantly innovating and adapting. We keep a close eye on market trends and evolving client needs, ensuring our team is always ahead of the game through regular training and creative marketing solutions. It's about being proactive, ensuring each client feels like our top priority.
Starting a brokerage is a bold move. What inspired you to take the leap?
I wanted to make a meaningful impact. It's not just about helping clients sell or buy homes; it's about nurturing our agents and fostering their personal and professional growth. It's about creating a community where everyone feels empowered to achieve their goals. That's the soul of our brokerage.
Can you share some of the challenges you faced when starting your brokerage and how you overcame them?
Building a strong brand and assembling the perfect team was definitely a challenge. We focused on offering personalized services and exclusive listings.
We had selective hiring, ensuring our team aligned with our luxury boutique culture and embraced our vision. Networking and building relationships with key clients were crucial in shaping our unique identity in the market.
How do you foster a positive and productive work culture within your brokerage?
We're all about creating a supportive and friendly environment. Our team is made up of incredibly talented individuals, but they're also wonderful people! We prioritize mutual respect and genuine friendship. This creates a positive energy that helps everyone thrive and ultimately helps our clients achieve their goals.
Personal connections and networking often play a crucial role in the real estate industry. How do you nurture and maintain relationships with clients and other industry professionals?
Relationships are everything in real estate. I love connecting with clients and peers, whether it's through regular chats or at industry events. These gatherings are a fantastic way to stay connected and build a strong, supportive community. It's about collaboration, not competition.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment or milestone in your career as a real estate broker?
A significant accomplishment for our young brokerage was making a mark in the ultra-luxury market, competing against firms with decades of experience. Our success is a testament to a fresh approach and dedication to personalized service. Our team is committed to hard work and excellence.
How do you find a balance between your demanding career and personal life?
Setting boundaries is key. I'm very intentional about organizing my days to ensure there's time for client meetings, my team, and my personal plans. Staying organized helps me provide excellent service to our clients while taking care of my well-being.
Can you share a memorable experience or success story from your career in real estate brokerage that has had a lasting impact on you?
One of my first clients was a tech professional I had worked with at JP Morgan Chase. I was new to real estate, but he trusted me with his property needs. We've closed several escrows together since then. His faith in me was incredibly touching and truly transformative. It inspired me to extend that same opportunity to others who are just starting out and show promise. This philosophy is now at the core of my brokerage.
What do you believe sets apart a truly exceptional property from the rest?
An exceptional property offers more than luxury amenities or location; it's about how it makes you feel.
THE BAY AREA REAL ESTATE SCENE IS ALWAYS BUZZING, BUT LATELY, I'VE NOTICED A REAL SHIFT IN WHAT BUYERS ARE LOOKING FOR. SUSTAINABILITY AND SMART TECH INTEGRATION ARE AT THE TOP OF EVERYONES LIST.
Jane Konovalova
It should have a unique character that resonates with buyers, turning the property into a home, not just a house.
How do you approach pricing a property to ensure it sells quickly while also maximizing its value?
When pricing a property, we strike a balance by thoroughly analyzing market data and trends. It's about getting that sweet spot—priced competitively to attract buyers quickly, yet high enough to reflect the true value and luxury of the property. We also tailor our strategy to each unique listing, ensuring we meet our sellers' goals while making smart, informed decisions. It's all about savvy marketing and sharp pricing strategies.
In your experience, what are some common misconceptions that people have about the real estate market?
People often assume the market is the same everywhere, but it's incredibly localized. What's happening in one city or neighborhood can be completely different elsewhere. Another myth is that spring is always
the best time to sell. While it's often true, buyer demand can fluctuate, so flexibility is important. Staying informed is crucial.
What advice would you give first-time homebuyers or sellers navigating the market for the first time?
For first-time buyers, understanding your budget and getting pre-approved for a loan is essential. It's also important to have realistic expectations about what's available in this market. For sellers, investing in making your property look its best and choosing a broker who understands your market and aligns with your values is key. Stay informed and ask questions – knowledge is power.
How do you envision the future of real estate brokerage, particularly with technology's growing influence and evolving consumer behaviors?
Technology is transforming the real estate landscape. Virtual reality tours, AI in property management, and data analytics for market prediction are becoming the norm. Consumer behavior is shifting towards more sustainable and flexible home choices. We must embrace these changes, offering innovative solutions while preserving the personal touch that technology cannot replicate.
What message would you leave for aspiring real estate professionals?
Real estate is a dynamic and rewarding field. It requires resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping people. It can be an incredibly fulfilling career path if you're committed to learning and growing every day.
What are the most demanding aspects of your role as a real estate leader, and how do you navigate them?
The most challenging part of my job is making sure we meet the unique needs of each client while supporting our fantastic team of agents and staying on top of the ever-changing market. We use the latest technology to help our agents deliver top-notch service. Plus, I'm always involved, working closely with the team to ensure everyone feels supported. It's about creating a personal connection and a strong team spirit.
Tell us about your family, the driving force behind your passion?
My family is my rock, keeping me grounded and inspired. My husband holds a leadership position in one of the Bay Area's tech companies, and we both share a love for adventure. We enjoy traveling and riding our motorcycle. Family time is precious; during winter, we love skiing in Tahoe. Our 13-year-old daughter is a bright, beautiful soul and a dedicated volleyball player who travels nationwide for tournaments. Our little boy, at 3.5 years old, is all about monster trucks and playing with his friends. He's a bundle of joy and energy. These personal joys balance my professional life and keep me refreshed and focused.

Our garden design for the Dutch Colonial Revival mansion at 2898 Broadway Street seamlessly blends modern elements with timeless charm. Symmetrical hedges and contemporary landscaping define the space, framing the entryway to create a captivating arrival experience. Complementing the architecture, the garden contrasts beautifully with the colors of the house, creating a cohesive visual narrative. A modern, yet elegant crane sculpture by Kevin Box Studio, provided by ÆRENA Galleries, serves as a focal point, adding a touch of boldness to the dynamic environment and ties in beautifully with the crisp white fiberstone planters and bench incorporated in the garden, provided by Stone Yard, Inc. At night, guests will enjoy the illuminated landscape with lighting provided by SPJ Lighting Inc. in a unique, craftily finished patina. With careful attention to detail, the design offers a serene oasis where past and present converge in a harmonious display of beauty and sophistication.
The receiving room, a threshold of welcome, is the visitor’s first impression. The initial whisper of hospitality that lies beyond, it beckons visitors with its embrace, inviting them to unwind in its wonder. Every element, meticulously curated, orchestrates an atmosphere of intrigue and conviviality. It is more than mere aesthetics — it’s a canvas upon which stories unfold and connections deepen. Adorned with heirlooms and mementos, bears witness to the stories that have graced these walls—a testament to the cherished memories that linger in the spaces between. It’s the cultivation of moments that linger long after guests have departed.

Welcome to the Jewel Box Kitchen - where your appetite will be nourished and all of your senses engaged. Surprise and delight abound with every surface, material, and texture chosen to evoke excitement. We transport you back to the days when the home was built originally, while embracing modernity. The Jewel Box draws you in, makes you feel as beautiful as you are, and entices you to stay. Whether spending time intimately chatting, mixing a cocktail, or hosting the most lavish of soirees, the Jewel Box is where you want to be.
The inspiration for this powder bath stems from the “Gilded Age” history of this 1899 Dutch Colonial mansion. The stately dinner parties and the days of being properly courted inspired a sense of romanticism dubbing this space “The Perfect Escape”. Situated right off the entryway, it is the perfect place to briefly disappear from the party to powder a nose, straighten a bow tie, or maybe even sneak in an intimate moment with another guest. We’ll leave that to your imagination! This flirty vibe is invigorated by Carlos Gamez de Francisco’s painting called the “Dreaming Place” hanging as an active invite. In addition, Fromental’s drippy hand painted floral wallpaper titled "Marchen" (meaning fairytale in German), the hand carved viola fluted marble sink, the mosaic marble floors, hints of polished nickel, high gloss tiffany blue paint and lighting that dangles like jewelry complete this romantic and sassy vibe.

THE EVOLUTION OF ENVY: UNRAVELING THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER
Envy, often referred to as the "greeneyed monster," has been a perennial companion to humanity throughout history. From the tales of Cain and Abel to the Instagram feeds of today, envy has woven its intricate threads into the fabric of human behavior. But what drives this complex emotion, and how can we navigate its treacherous waters?
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF ENVY: UNPACKING THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER
At its core, envy arises from a perceived lack in oneself compared to others. Whether it's material possessions, achievements, or social status, envy thrives in the space between what we have and what we desire. Psychologically, envy serves as a signal of unmet needs or desires, prompting individuals to either strive for improvement or succumb to feelings of resentment and bitterness.
EVOLUTIONARY ROOTS: TRACING ENVY THROUGH TIME
In the crucible of human evolution, envy served as a primal motivator for survival. In ancestral societies, where resources were scarce and competition fierce, envy acted as a catalyst for ambition and social comparison. Those who coveted their neighbor's resources were driven to strive harder, adapt faster, and secure their place within the social hierarchy.
PSYCHOLOGICAL INSIGHTS AND STRATEGIES FOR Personal Growth
When envy rears its head, it's essential to recognize and acknowledge the underlying emotions driving it. Instead of succumbing to feelings of inadequacy or resentment, use envy as a compass for self-reflection and growth. Ask yourself what aspects of your life are triggering these feelings and explore ways to address them constructively.
Furthermore, cultivate gratitude for what you have rather than fixating on what others possess. Practice mindfulness and focus on your own journey, celebrating your successes and progress along the way. Remember, comparison is the thief of joy, and true fulfillment comes from within, not from external validation or possessions.
When the spotlight of envy shines upon you, it's essential to remain grounded and empathetic. Understand that envy often stems from others' insecurities and unmet needs, rather than any shortcomings on your part. Approach the situation with grace and compassion, offering support and encouragement to those who may be struggling.
Moreover, set boundaries to protect your mental and emotional well-being. Surround yourself with a supportive network of friends and loved ones who uplift and empower
you. Focus on cultivating genuine connections and meaningful experiences, rather than seeking validation through external markers of success.
In the grand tapestry of human experience, envy serves as both a challenge and an opportunity for growth. By unraveling its intricate threads and understanding its psychological underpinnings, we can transform envy from a foe into a friend on the journey toward self-discovery and fulfillment.
So the next time you feel the greeneyed monster lurking within, embrace it as a catalyst for change and embark on a journey of self-transformation. After all, the greatest triumphs often emerge from the shadows of our deepest insecurities.

Faced with the disastrous state of the planet, trying to make fashion virtuous, from its production to its distribution, is no longer enough ... We must scream, while nature is dying, silently.
A symbol. This is how Farhad Re wanted this capsule collection, reminding us that without nature, culture would not exist. The flutter of butterfly wings capable of triggering a tornado halfway around the world? The metaphor is worn, knowing that he is the only man responsible for the annihilation of the living ... What will happen then when the last wing flap of the last butterfly in the world occurs?
Hope is in art. Three months of work were necessary for each creation, entirely cut, painted and embroidered by hand ... By transforming the woman in the most majestic of insects, sublime chrysalis with bright and iridescent hues, emerging from pollution like a purified renewal in creations made of silk organza and integrating recycled plastic, seeming to come alive when worn, like an extension of the flesh, - perfect fusion between the woman and what clothes her - Farhad Re wants to believe in the heralding vital forces more radiant auspices, and delivers us an essential message: beauty alone can save the world.
This set belongs to my most personal, serious and ambitious project so far. I try to give dignity and humanity to the plastic people around the world. As a street and travel photographer, I have had the chance to take photos of shop windows in many cities, and there I have found the inspiration for these images. They tell me tales and stories about life. They always show me their human substance. Every photo creates a fantasy. Their faces, looks, eyes, clothes, shadows, and reflections portray them as the modern society.
In this selection, we find these beautiful women surrounded by reflections of their cities. Reflections always help me to make complex photographs. I’m not afraid of complexity. I like getting a richness. I don’t try to follow conventional compositions. I just keep loyal to my eye. If I need to break rules to show an image, I just do it. I feel my plastic people are free. There is even some chaos in the worlds I portray.
These plastic people, most of them ladies seem all to be feeling different emotions or sensations, such as confidence, arrogance, sadness, dreaming stare, or challenging poses. Viewers can realize there is a human touch inside them. My intention is the humanization of the mannequins found in shops. I feel the need to make them talk to the world. They all have a message to say. My visions are just the way they have to speak, working as a channel.
I
HUMANITY
MANNEQUINS, CAPTURING THEIR ESSENCE AND EMOTIONS AS REFLECTIONS OF MODERN SOCIETY, INSPIRED BY POP CULTURE AND GREAT ARTISTS. Seigar
My visions have been influenced by pop culture. I have been attracted to the works of unique and strong artists. I guess they have deeply inspired me, even though you cannot see directly their prints in my photographs. What you can see is that I conceive art as a passion. I re-
fer to artists such as the cinema makers like Pedro Almodóvar, Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Aldrich, Quentin Tarantino, or Lars Von Trier. In the music and performance category, I feel devotion to the threesome Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Prince. Then, Frida Kahlo, Dalí, Picasso, and Warhol are the painters that obsess me. The best photographer in the world right now is Mister Martin Parr; I must confess “he is the one”. All these artists share something in common; I will call it strong views.
10 UNKNOWN FACTS
1Most of them are women. 2Most of the photos are spontaneous, without previous planning. 3Shop assistants are usually curious about what I am doing. It is nice to interact with them. 4My favorite plastic people live in UK. 5My first plastic people photo was probably taken in Venice, Italy. 6Recently, I miss faces in plastic people; there is a new tendency to show headless or faceless. I think it is sad and terrible. 7In my plastic people you can see traditions, beliefs and values from the towns they were taken. 8I really enjoy finding the reflections of the buildings behind me, especially when the architecture is interesting. I don’t work with double exposure. 9People normally stare at me when I take photos of shop windows. Some can stand behind me until I finish the shooting. 10I hate the tag with the price on clothes, though sometimes they can enrich the composition.
I have been participating in exhibitions and been featured in international magazines with this project. My Plastic People have become an essential part of my street photography. I owe them the world. I would like to keep on traveling to find more characters for these tales. It’s so inspiring when I get to a new city, town, or village; and I go around walking, looking for them, the reflections, the saturated colors, the buildings and architecture behind them, the lights and shadows... It’s exciting!
There is also a cultural aspect of them. They represent the people from the country they were taken. Their mood, clothes, body awareness issues, or makeup show the traditions, beliefs, and even values from the places. I would like to end this short essay about them, stating the universal human quality of this project, because as I stated before, they have become portraits of our modern society. There is an analogy with human nature.
