DANCING W/SPECIAL NEEDS BY DANCE SOLUTIONS

Dance movement classes for kids ages 8 to 12 that caters to kids with special needs. This class will focus on movements that helps support and reinforce what a child learns from therapy. CREATIVE MOVEMENT - ADAPTIVE DANCE

Essential Eligibility: Program Levels 1-2. This class will teach individuals with physical and developmental disabilities or delays basic dance techniques and movements through nursery rhymes and children's songs. Participants will explore different movements and express themselves in a fun and encouraging environment. ADAPTIVE SPRING BREAK CAMP

Essential Eligibility: Level 1- Level 4. Is there a better way to spend Spring Break then hanging out with friends?! Come join us for some spring themed activities at our Adaptive Spring Break Camp. This camp is geared specifically to individuals with disabilities and higher support needs. Registration deadline: 1 week before start of camp.

Frederick County Parks and Recreation offers Adaptive Recreation (AIR) programs designed to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities, developmental differences, and/ or higher support needs as well as emphasize participants’ unique abilities. Programs utilize trained staff and higher staff/participant ratios in addition to adapted spaces, materials, and content to provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in various recreation activities.

Essential Eligibility: Program levels 1 - 2. Are you looking for a fun place to connect and socialize with peers? Come join us at SKC for a chance for teens to spend time with peers socializing and playing games. Games and activities will be available, but no formal instruction will be provided.
