Stand-Up Comedy This is by far one of the most exciting classes REC & ED has to offer this season! Unique individuals with a good sense of humor, an itch in their funny bone, an open mind and a desire to learn the art of stand-up comedy will appreciate this new class. Student yucksters will learn how to write jokes, where to find material, stage presence, and get inside tips, valuable techniques and endless tricks of the trade. No experience necessary to join this class of wild n’ crazies. You will walk away from this experience ready to step on any comedy stage or at least be the funniest person at the water cooler. Taught by seasoned professional stand-up comedian and actor Russell Rabb. CONTINUING class is for those who want to learn more techniques from this fabulous instructor. 8 weeks. No class 2/21. Discover how to write personality profiles for publication, your company’s website, or a family memoir. Expect to complete a short profile to be discussed in class. Are you a fan of Humphrey Bogart? Known for “The Maltese Falcon” and “Casablanca,” this unique actor left a legacy of varied roles. From desperate Duke Mantee ( “Petrified Forest,” 1936 ) to marble-clutching Capt. Queeg ( “Caine Mutiny,” 1954 )his portrayals of men in crisis are naturalistic and dramatic. You will view a film each session and look behind the screen to examine the talented actor who became the beloved “Bogey.” Background information will be provided. Instructor: Anne Rhoades. 6 weeks.
