2018 Women’s Council of REALTORS® Sarasota Network President
Now celebrating its 80th year, the Women’s Council of REALTORS® was originally established by women and for women. Our membership has grown to include men as leaders within the organization over the past several years. As our organization continues to evolve and grow, we are now 12,000+ members strong, with 250 Networks nationally, 30 of those in Florida.
This year brings new opportunities for all of our Members and Strategic Business Partners. Our new Referral Program is gaining momentum and sending and receiving referrals to and from fellow members is icing on the cake. The educational programs have taught us all to be better REALTORS®. But the powerful relationships that are built and nurtured throughout our careers are what truly is the most rewarding.

This year’s theme is “Bring Out Your Animal Instincts.” We want our Members to step out of their comfort zone and step up into leadership. By listening to our instincts, we can tackle our challenges, advance our careers and gain lasting friendships. At our core, we all possess the instinct to survive, thrive and to be free. REALTORS® definitely carry this instinct.
Becoming a leader within Women’s Council is one of my most rewarding experiences, both professionally and personally. I listened to my inner cheetah when I joined Women’s Council a few years ago. I jumped into being a volunteer, chairing committees and committing to serve as a leader. I do not regret one second of it, and I hope you will consider getting involved with Women’s Council of REALTORS® Sarasota. Another of my life’s most rewarding experiences has come from volunteerism. I am passionate about The Humane Society of Sarasota County. I have been involved with them since I moved to Sarasota and they are my second family. Just visiting the campus can turn the worst day into one of the best. Giving back to them makes me happy because I have such an appreciation for what they do and provide for our community and I always want to be a part of that. Their mission is to engage the hearts, hands, and minds of the community to help animals. There is nothing I want more than to see that every homeless dog and cat find a good home. Just ask my pack of dogs and a cat at home! I must also offer a special mention of gratitude to our entire Fashion Show Team. And to all of you, we're so glad you chose to spend this day with us and we hope you enjoy every moment! Thank you for allowing me to serve as this year’s President. It's an experience I'll never forget. I've learned so much and will be forever grateful for this experience!

They hope this event will further strengthen the network among these businesses, raise awareness for Aphasia, and help raise funding for Ricks continued speech therapy and the future Suncoast Aphasia Community Center. Aphasia is an acquired communication disorder that impairs a person's ability to process language, but not their intelligence.
