the answer: This term means that the house in question is just that, "as is". A prospective Buyer should not expect a Seller to repair matters that are found defective or broken with the house. The house is often times priced accordingly to its "as is" status. However, a potential buyer can still attempt to negotiate for a repair or a credit, the worst that the seller can say is No.
