To Believe or Not Believe

While I was in college I was told to pick a pseudo-science and prove or disprove it. I chose metaphysics. When you look at astrology it is not an exact science, but it is a science. You cannot prove that planets have effects on people’s personalities, but you cannot disprove it either. The Native Americans had visions of what was to happen to their nation because of the white man coming. How is it that spirit can tell people what is going on in their lives and be so accurate, but in the world of science this action cannot be proven? I found more factual evidence that led me to believe that metaphysics exists than to prove that it doesn’t. It can neither be proven nor disproved, therefore it would be an individual’s belief as to whether mediumship, for example, is real or not. To believe or not believe in something rests solely upon the person and one's belief system surrounding spirituality as well as science.

curate. Nothing is black and white in the spirit world, and there are no limitations, whereas science has to test and prove that it’s all black and white. As one astrologer put it to me: The sun will rise, the moon will set, the sun will set, the moon will rise. Science has proven this has an effect on the currents and the tides. 75% of our body is made up of water so wouldn’t it make sense that the planets would have the same influence on emotions and personalities as it does on the tides and currents? That left me with the thought that it is what it is. You can’t prove or disprove many things, but they make you think. Take Edgar Cayce,1 for example. He was blessed with an ability help heal and give guidance to people. Many people called him a fraud yet he helped countless numbers of people. Did he really help them or was it their belief in him that facilitated their healings? Was it real or not? It all comes down to each individual’s belief and faith. Good is good no matter how you look at it.

I studied astrology, Chinese astrology, mediumship, psychic development and I met many wonderful people throughout my education. All to me were very accurate. There were small variations among them, but for the most part they were all very ac-
