Red Deer Polytechnic recognizes that our campus is situated on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land where RDP sits. This is where we will strive to honour and transform our relationships with one another.

The Awards of Excellence are given annually as formal recognition for extraordinary contributions from faculty and staff to the success of learners and Red Deer Polytechnic. These contributions may be through innovation, excellence in teaching, service or leadership. Tonight, we celebrate the achievements of Red Deer Polytechnic faculty and staff whose excellence in teaching, service, innovation and leadership has made a significant impact on our learners, employees, and partners.
Here at RDP, we boast a deep and diverse talent pool of potential nominees and award recipients from across our entire campus community. As we aim to become a leading Canadian polytechnic and an employer of choice, it is these top performers who set the example for all of us. When considering the contributions of this year’s award winners, it is not only their experience and expertise that sets them apart. It is their consistent efforts to empower their students, colleagues, and teams. They each demonstrate a genuine pride for their work, and in the broader work of RDP: to create skilled, engaged learners and citizens who will advance the social and economic progress of Alberta.

Excellence in Innovation
The Excellence in Innovation Award is given to faculty or staff who have demonstrated extraordinary innovation in their role, classroom or profession. The recipients have led successful projects, programs or instructional techniques that are cutting edge, impactful and heighten the reputation of Red Deer Polytechnic.
Jennifer Dornstauder
As an Engineering Technical Lead in the CIM-TAC, Jennifer Dornstauder has embodied the core values of Red Deer Polytechnic through her exceptional and innovative work.
Jennifer has consistently sought creative ways to advance design innovation. With an extensive understanding of manufacturing and the ability to enhance designs, she has helped to create practical solutions that address challenges in society and industry.
Jennifer’s contributions to the Polytechnic community have extended beyond her technical accomplishments. She has helped to enrich the teaching, learning and applied research opportunities at RDP.
In addition, Jennifer has strengthened the Polytechnic’s inclusive environment, ensuring students and colleagues feel valued and supported.
As a mentor and role model, she has made a transformative impact on engineering students, particularly female learners. By leveraging cuttingedge technology, Jennifer has created opportunities for exploration and discovery, inspiring students to seek innovation in their work and pursue their passions with confidence.
Blair Foster
Blair Foster, Design and Fabrication Lab Technician, has helped to advance innovation at Red Deer Polytechnic and throughout communities.
Blair has played an instrumental role in helping to establish the CIM-TAC and pioneering advancements in the health care device sector, addressing societal and industrial challenges.
His pursuit of excellence and willingness to explore unconventional solutions has resulted in creative outcomes that are both technically sophisticated and practical in their application.
Harnessing expertise and technology in additive manufacturing at the Polytechnic, Blair has helped to create numerous innovative prototypes in the CIM-TAC, often exceeding the expectations of clients.
As a dedicated colleague, Blair has been instrumental in mentoring RDP students and employees. His patience, positive attitude and ability to teach have been invaluable in the success of numerous projects and the growing positive reputation of applied research and advanced manufacturing at the Polytechnic.
Leanne LaBrash
Leanne LaBrash, Training Development Lead, has always approached her work in Continuing Education and Corporate Training in innovative ways.
Leanne has strategically explored the development of new programs, ensuring that RDP remains at the forefront of innovative education and community development opportunities.
Her expertise, dedication and collaborative spirit have helped to advance the priorities of the Polytechnic, particularly within trades and corporate training initiatives.
Leanne has been skilled at building trust and increasing collaboration with a variety of stakeholders. These efforts have helped to pave the way for transformative learning experiences that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
As one example, she has helped to strengthen RDP’s relationship with NESC-Technical Institute located in Trinidad and Tobago. This partnership has increased technical and vocational training opportunities in the Caribbean, contributing to its skilled labour force and economy.
Dr. Jessica Legacy
Dr. Jessica Legacy, English Literature and Language instructor, has cultivated innovative learning environments at Red Deer Polytechnic.
Using a creative approach to classroom pedagogy, Jessica has utilized assignments in her courses to spark curiosity, foster learning and contribute to student growth and success.
As an adaptable and enthusiastic faculty member, Jessica has designed engaging classes that inspire students and meet their diverse needs.
In addition, she has contributed to the priorities of the Polytechnic beyond the classroom, celebrating student excellence, supporting research and the sharing of knowledge.
As co-chair of the Agora Student Conference, Jessica has helped to engage student presenters in meaningful ways, increased collaborations between RDP and community organizations and empowered student Agora committee members.
Through her innovative leadership, Jessica has helped to contribute to teaching, learning and applied research at RDP, impacting communities across Alberta.
Excellence in Leadership
The Excellence in Leadership Award recognizes outstanding contributions by Red Deer Polytechnic’s employees as leaders or influencers. Candidates for this award have demonstrated innovation or creativity in proactive leadership, while building rapport with colleagues across the Polytechnic. They have shown a commitment to Red Deer Polytechnic’s practices that inspire quality work and positive learning environments.
Dean Bye
Dean Bye, Electrical and Alternative Energy Lab Technician, has demonstrated proactive leadership in his shared role between the School of Trades and Technology and the Division of Applied Research.
As a contributor to a positive work environment, Dean has inspired colleagues to strive for excellence, often through multi-faceted collaborations. He has effectively engaged with students, faculty, staff and industry partners, impacting learning, applied research and innovation.
With more than two decades of experience as a Journeyperson Electrician and Certified Master Electrician, Dean has brought a wealth of expertise to his work in solar installations, design, operations and maintenance.
Dean has contributed to the RDP legacy through his work with the Energy Innovation Centre (EIC). As an RDP contact for the EIC’s Data Sharing Alliance, Dean will continue to play an instrumental role in the Polytechnic’s growing industry partnerships. Dean has also collaborated with RDP schools and departments to amplify innovation and applied research in the Alternative Energy Lab.
David Pye
David Pye, Dean of School of Trades and Technolgy, has demonstrated adaptable and visionary leadership at RDP.
David has helped to position Red Deer Polytechnic at the forefront of progressive educational practices within the School of Trades and Technology. He has encouraged faculty to explore creative approaches to assignments, lab projects and program delivery, helping to advance innovation at RDP.
As an advocate for skilled trades and technology, David has been adept at fostering meaningful connections with students, faculty, staff and industry partners. Through these relationships, he has also encouraged lifelong learning, highlighting the diverse pathways within skilled trades and technology. He has been a dedicated leader who genuinely cares for others.
Under David’s leadership, RDP apprentices have continued to excel at the Skills Canada provincial and national competitions, contributing to the culture of excellence within the Polytechnic’s skilled trades programming.
Gilbert Renaud
Gilbert Renaud, an Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship instructor, has been an enthusiastic leader in the School of Trades and Technology. He has been a valuable colleague who strengthens skilled trades education at RDP and across the province.
Over the past 30 years, Gilbert has made significant efforts to enhance the experiences of RDP apprentices. He has worked hard to incorporate a student-centered philosophy in his instruction, contributing to the nationally recognized skilled trades programming at the Polytechnic.
Gilbert has also shared his expertise beyond the Polytechnic. In recent years, he has participated in RDP’s international teaching pilot projects at NESC-Technical Institute located in Trinidad & Tobago. Gilbert has also collaborated with Subaru Canada in Quebec.
He has been a steward of RDP’s School of Trades and Technology at Open Houses, conventions and in communities.
With a positive and relatable personality, Gilbert has made a lasting impression on students, colleagues, alumni and industry partners.
Sarah Ritten
Sarah Ritten, Manager, Campus Health and Wellbeing Services, has been a compassionate and caring leader who contributes to a welcoming environment at Red Deer Polytechnic.
She has identified ways to enhance RDP’s services and supports for students and employees. As an active contributor to Red Deer Polytechnic’s Strategic Plan, Sarah has shared her expertise on the strategic drivers pertaining to wellness.
As Co-Chair of the Employee Wellness Working Group, Sarah has prioritized well-being and consistently ensured that all seven Dimensions of Wellness have been addressed in RDP’s Wellness Days. She has been adept at ensuring accessible opportunities have been available to the campus community.
Sarah has been involved in the organization of several health-related initiatives at the Polytechnic. They include the annual Flu Clinic, Breast Cancer Awareness, Movember and Nutrition Month. Sarah has the incredible ability of making all students, colleagues and stakeholders feel valued and respected.
Trent Rix
Trent Rix, Director, Ancillary and Sport Services, has demonstrated more than 23 years of progressive leadership at RDP.
Under Trent’s exemplary guidance, Ancillary and Sport Services has become a successful revenue generating division.
He has played an integral role in the completion of significant capital projects, including the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre and Studio Residence.
Through Trent’s expertise and hard work, RDP has hosted many notable events. These events have included the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s and Women’s National Volleyball Championships, the 2024 Hockey Alberta Induction Gala, the Market at Red Deer and local High School Convocations.
As a dedicated and respected employee, Trent has displayed an incredible work ethic and infectious positive attitude.
Dr. Krista Robson
Dr. Krista Robson, an RDP Sociology instructor, has exemplified exceptional leadership qualities and an unwavering commitment to advancing research and learning at Red Deer Polytechnic.
As Chair of RDP’s Research Ethics Board and a member of the Research Common, Krista has played an integral role in guiding and supporting various research initiatives. These initiatives have included developing student and faculty competencies, providing vital employment-relevant experiences to students and forging community connections.
Beyond the Polytechnic, Krista has collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to address real-world challenges through applied research. Currently, she is contributing to a national applied research project that explores postsecondary student homelessness, leading to actionable steps to enhance supports at RDP.
As part of one Social Sciences project, Krista has examined the role of institutional Research Ethics Boards in guiding both Indigenous and nonIndigenous academic researchers working with Indigenous Peoples and communities in central Alberta. By prioritizing frameworks that honor Indigenous knowledge and sovereignty, she has fostered more equitable and respectful research practices.
Excellence in Service
The Excellence in Service Award is given to faculty or staff who have achieved excellence in institutional-wide initiatives or have made extraordinary contributions. Candidates for this award demonstrate exceptional competencies in their role and contribute immensely to the effectiveness of the Polytechnic’s services. Nominees and recipients have championed progressive or innovative programs or services and have contributed positively to the Red Deer Polytechnic student experience, either directly or indirectly.
Ben Allan
Ben Allan has demonstrated remarkable service and a commitment to excellence in his role as Business Development Specialist in Red Deer Polytechnic’s CIM-TAC.
With the ability to easily connect with others, Ben has formed trusted relationships both internally and externally. His expertise has helped to advance innovation at RDP and across the province.
Within a short timeframe, he has effectively brokered partnerships with more than a dozen industry stakeholders, showcasing his ability to foster effective collaboration and drive impactful initiatives.
One of Ben’s most notable achievements at the Polytechnic has been the establishment and exponential growth of the Data Sharing Alliance. This has enhanced RDP’s reputation as a hub for innovation.
As a mentor, Ben has contributed to the success of RDP students, providing them with practical insights and experiences using cutting-edge technologies in the CIM-TAC and Energy Innovation Centre.
Eryn Beddoes
As Project Manager – Facility Infrastructure and Engineering in Campus Management, Eryn Beddoes has served Red Deer Polytechnic and innovation communities with a high level of expertise.
With a commitment toward environmental sustainability, Eryn has helped RDP move closer toward becoming a net zero energy institution. Various initiatives have helped facilitate this process, including strategic resource allocation, mindful infrastructure sustainability using green design principles and renewable energy integration into projects.
Eryn has been adept at collaborating with various stakeholders to advance the Polytechnic’s sustainability priorities. As examples, Eryn has contributed to meaningful internal and external engagement, the Green Campus Work Group and work-integrated learning opportunities for students.
Her experience in the Canadian Armed Forces, including as Commanding Officer of the Red Deer Sea Cadets, has been invaluable in her role at RDP. Eryn’s leadership and commitment to youth development have complemented her multifaceted skills in project management, organization and public speaking, driving impactful change at RDP and beyond.
Dr. Brent Galloway
As an RDP Education instructor, Dr. Brent Galloway’s service to learners and commitment to student success has been exemplary. Over the past two decades, Brent has provided prospective teachers with the necessary knowledge, skills and experiences to make an impact in the classroom.
He has initiated the Indigenous Perspectives Conference, providing attendees with immersive academic, cultural and social experiences. Brent has empowered RDP students to assume leadership roles in planning and organizing this conference.
To complement the learning of RDP’s Education students, Brent has created Reality Bytes, a student professional development program to familiarize them with the many facets of the teaching profession.
Brent has implemented Superintendent Showcase, providing opportunities for the Polytechnic’s preservice teachers to interact with administrators from regional school divisions. This experience has resulted in meaningful dialogue and numerous RDP Middle Years students receiving employment.
Leanne LaBrash
As Training Development Lead in Continuing Education and Corporate Training, Leanne LaBrash, has contributed exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
Leanne has strategically explored the development of new programs, providing more opportunities for students to receive enhanced experiences as they help fulfill labour market demand.
Through her expertise, dedication and collaborative spirit, Leanne has helped to advance the priorities of the Polytechnic, particularly within trades and corporate training initiatives.

Amanda Paradis
Amanda Paradis, Academic Administrative Officer in the School of Trades and Technology, has provided exceptional service to RDP students, colleagues and external stakeholders.
Amanda has enthusiastically participated in many initiatives that enhance the student experience on campus. She has helped RDP in hosting several events, including Skills Try-A-Trade and Open House.
Along with providing unparalleled administrative support to the Dean and Associate Deans in the School of Trades and Technology, Amanda has demonstrated leadership on several projects and initiatives. As one example, she has shared her extensive knowledge of SharePoint with colleagues within the School of Trades and Technology and across the Polytechnic.
Amanda has continually sought ways to improve processes. As a member of the Administration Officers Working Group, she has shared knowledge with colleagues and considered ideas from others.
With a positive attitude and respect for others, Amanda has contributed to a welcoming environment at the Polytechnic for students, faculty, staff and guests.
Cassidy Pierce
As Associate Program Coordinator in Continuing Education and Corporate Training, Cassidy Pierce has provided excellent service, impacting learners, colleagues and the RDP community.
Cassidy, an RDP alum, has played a pivotal role in the growth of two IT Diplomas. Through strategic planning, Cassidy has helped expand the programs’ capacity from 26 learners and three instructors to over 200 students, 12 instructors and three instructional assistants.
As a leader, she has mentored new colleagues, fostered an inclusive environment and helped RDP welcome dignitaries from NESC Technical Institute located in Trinidad and Tobago.
Cassidy’s warm personality has helped to create a welcoming environment for students, colleagues and external stakeholders. Her dedication to improving each student’s educational experience has been impactful to both domestic and international students, enhancing RDP’s reputation as a destination for all learners.
Sarah Ritten
Sarah Ritten, Manager, Campus Health and Wellbeing Services, has demonstrated excellence in service to enhance health, safety and wellbeing across Red Deer Polytechnic.
She has fostered an inclusive and equitable environment, understanding the unique challenges and considerations of a diverse campus community and leveraging community connection to provide comprehensive support.
Sarah has strengthened internal systems for health sciences programs to meet clinical and practicum requirements. Her commitment to RDP has been evident in her ongoing efforts to research best practices from other postsecondary institutions and industries, ensuring RDP remains at the forefront of healthy working, learning and living environments.
She has also played a crucial role in reviewing immunization standards for health sciences programs and contributed to the development of a Circle of Care on campus to enhance student health support. Additionally, Sarah has supported nursing students through mentorship and guidance on current health trends. Sarah has enhanced employee wellbeing through the Employee Wellness Working Group and developed various health and wellness learning opportunities for students and staff.
Trent Rix
As Director of Ancillary and Sport Services, Trent Rix has provided excellence in service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Under Trent’s leadership, Ancillary and Sport Services has grown and thrived.
He has played an integral role in the completion of significant capital projects, including the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre and Studio Residence.
Many of the events at RDP have involved Trent and his team. Through his expertise and strong organizational skills, Trent has played a key role in their success, building the reputation of Ancillary and Sport Services and RDP.

Jen Stange
As an Academic Tutor in Writing, Jen Stange has provided exceptional service to RDP students, impacting their academic and personal development. With a commitment to learners, Jen has played an essential role in helping RDP students advance their writing skills and build their confidence.
Outside of her tutoring sessions, Jen has pursued professional development opportunities, seeking the most current resources and methodologies in tutoring writing. With innovative insight, she has helped to expand the number of ways students can access tutoring, including the creation of writing groups and organization of a writing session as part of the Library’s Long Night Against Procrastination event.
She has also played an integral role in helping the Polytechnic address the impact and challenges of artificial intelligence in writing and education.
Jen’s professionalism, sincerity and kindness have benefited students, staff and faculty.
Nigel Stuart
Nigel Stuart has demonstrated exceptional service as a Physics Laboratory Technologist at RDP. Through a meticulous approach to lab operations and experimental procedures, he has showcased proficiency in physics and earth sciences.
His exploration of new technologies has been pivotal in enhancing laboratory experiments.
Through outreach initiatives like Red Hot Science, he has strengthened RDP’s community ties and inspired prospective students with workshops he designed.
Nigel has also played a crucial role in developing labs for RDP’s new Earth Science Course (EAAS 201), transforming the student learning experience with his innovative and engaging lab curriculum.
One of Nigel’s key innovations has been the incorporation of interactive laboratory exercises that simulate real-world geological phenomena, such as rock analysis and topographic map interpretation. These exercises have provided students with practical experience and enhanced their ability to apply theoretical concepts, making learning more dynamic and impactful.
Excellence in Teaching
The Excellence in Teaching Award focuses on exceptional practices and commitment to the success of learners in the classroom. Excellence in Teaching recipients demonstrate expertise, innovative or inspirational teaching practices and dedication to student success.
Megan Bylsma
Megan Bylsma, an Art History and Animation History Instructor, has demonstrated exemplary teaching practices, enhancing the student learning experience at Red Deer Polytechnic.
With a commitment to student success, Megan has prioritized the well-being and academic growth of her students, providing them with personalized feedback and mentorship to help them achieve their full potential.
She has created dynamic and engaging academic environments, incorporating gamified learning activities and historical scenario games. Megan’s innovative teaching practices have not only elevated the quality of education at RDP but have also inspired a culture of experimentation and creativity across academic disciplines.
Through her involvement in open education resources, peer-reviewed publications and curriculum development, Megan has actively contributed to teaching excellence and student success.

Patrick Conner
Patrick Conner, Math instructor, has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to excellence in teaching, creating a lasting impact on students, RDP and academic communities.
He has created an interactive and engaging learning environment, implementing thoughtfully structured lectures that progress from foundational examples to more advanced concepts.
Additionally, Patrick’s creative use of math labs has provided students with invaluable opportunities to develop essential skills and reinforce their understanding of course content.
Patrick has helped to create Math Fair, providing opportunities for RDP’s Middle Years Education students to invent math games for middle school students in Red Deer.
With an enthusiastic teaching style, Patrick has amplified his students’ attention, increasing their ability to retain knowledge in an engaging academic environment. Through his expertise and creative teaching methods, Patrick has helped to build the reputation of Red Deer Polytechnic.
Brandon DeJong
As a philosophy instructor at Red Deer Polytechnic, Brandon De Jong has demonstrated a commitment to student driven learning and teaching excellence.
Brandon has created inspirational and welcoming learning environments that encourages students to ask questions and participate in meaningful discussions. With an affinity for storytelling, he has engaged students in creative ways that complement their learning at RDP.
He has effectively encouraged collaboration in the classroom through Universal Design for Learning practices. This process has empowered students to take ownership in the decision-making process within an environment structured for a diverse set of learners.
Brandon’s commitment to elevating the RDP student experience has extended outside of the classroom. He has willingly participated in extracurricular events such as Philosophers Cafe and World Religions Conference. These unique opportunities have contributed to enhancing the overall experiences of Red Deer Polytechnic students.
Grace Taylor Memorial Award of Excellence for Administrative Staff
The Grace Taylor Memorial Award of Excellence was instituted in 1987 in remembrance of Grace Taylor, a valued Red Deer College employee and support staff member. Each year this honor is awarded to an employee who embodies the characteristics of patience, kindness, competence, understanding and humor.
Will Cabutotan
Will Cabutotan, Program Assistant in the School of Health and Wellness, has exhibited high professional standards and diligence, contributing to a respectful workplace culture. His sense of humour and warm personality have amplified the welcoming environment at Red Deer Polytechnic.
In his daily interactions, Will has shown kindness, patience and an enthusiastic attitude to effectively accomplish various tasks. Frequently, he has offered his time and expertise to help his colleagues wherever he can. Will’s adaptability and strong organizational skills have helped him prioritize his duties to effectively address the needs of the School of Health and Wellness. He has often performed his role at a level that goes beyond his job description.
Will’s level of competence in the provision of administrative practices has ensured the Polytechnic’s Licensed Practical Nurse program runs smoothly. These efforts have contributed to the education and training of health care works at RDP, helping to address Alberta’s labour market demand.
Nicole Dawe
Nicole Dawe, Accounts Payable Technician, has demonstrated expertise, dedication and kindness in the workplace. As a respected colleague, Nicole has performed her work with high levels of accuracy, patience and professionalism. She has completed duties beyond her job description, contributing to the efficiency of RDP’s Finance Department.
Nicole’s sense of humour has positively contributed to the office. As one example, she had hidden chocolate eggs throughout the office at Easter, creating a fun and team bonding experience.
With a mindset to grow personally and professionally, Nicole has demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and to identify ways to more effectively streamline work processes. Nicole’s curiosity and willingness to seek enhanced ways of performing tasks have been invaluable to the Finance Department and Red Deer Polytechnic.
Lindsay Gustafson
As a Simulation Technician, Lindsay Gustafson has made a significant impact on students, RDP and communities.
Lindsay has become well-versed in the new Noelle birthing patient simulator mannequin, helping to educate and train RDP students for rewarding careers in health and wellness.
As a caring professional, she has built camaraderie and has contributed to a positive workplace at the Polytechnic. Lindsay has consistently demonstrated kindness and understanding with students, colleagues and all stakeholders.
In addition to her expertise and insight, Lindsay has also effectively trained new lab employees, making them feel part of a collaborative team and setting them up for success in their roles.

Catherine Lilly
Catherine Lilly has made outstanding contributions to the Office of the Registrar in her role as Administrative Officer and Project Coordinator. Throughout her tenure at RDP, Catherine has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and a deep commitment to serving the needs of learners, the Polytechnic and communities.
She has played a crucial part in adopting effective and efficient administrative functions within the Office of the Registrar.
In addition to her excellent administrative skills, Catherine has also displayed an exceptional sense of humour. She has embodied joy and camaraderie, contributing to a positive working environment.
Catherine has also been deeply committed to community initiatives. She has volunteered her time with the Centrefest International Street Performer Festival as a member of the Board of Directors. Through this organization, she has created meaningful impact, improving access to arts and culture for central Albertans.
Tyrell Wesenberg
As Operations Coordinator, Tyrell Wesenberg has showcased exceptional professionalism, making positive contributions to the Centres for Manufacturing and Energy Innovation, RDP and communities.
With remarkable patience and kindness, Tyrell has made tremendous efforts to ensure his colleagues feel welcomed, supported and valued. Tyrell’s dedication, expertise and sense of humour have helped contribute to the success and comfort of his co-workers.
Tyrell has participated in team-bonding events such as bowling and pickleball. He has also organized outings with colleagues that included frisbee golf and go-karting. These activities have helped to strengthen the team within the Centres for Manufacturing and Energy Innovation, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Through a diverse skillset and amiable personality, Tyrell has played a prominent role in the successful operation of the Centres for Manufacturing and Energy Innovation.
Vicki Mix Administrative Excellence Award
The Vicki Mix Administrative Excellence award is in honour of our late friend and colleague, Vicki Mix. Vicki was a special person to many employees who had contact with her during her time at RDC. Shane Bos
As Scheduling Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar, Shane Bos has demonstrated extraordinary patience, determination and expertise. If there are scheduling challenges, Shane has been adept at finding creative and effective solutions.
Shane’s dedication and positive demeanour have been tremendous assets to his team and the entire Polytechnic community.
Shane has also assumed a leadership role, sharing his knowledge and insights about scheduling with colleagues. He has played an instrumental role in training new staff on the nuances and complexities of planning the RDP timetable.
Shane has been committed to growing professionally, contributing to the further development of his knowledge and skills and growing the impact of his work.
With an innate ability to organize, problem solve and see the bigger picture, Shane has helped to create efficiencies in scheduling, positively impacting students, faculty and staff at Red Deer Polytechnic.
Rob Chilcott
Rob Chilcott has been committed to the success and growth of Red Deer Polytechnic through his role as Facilities Associate in Campus Management. Rob has approached his workday with a welcoming energy and wonderful sense of humour. He has a unique ability to connect with people and make them feel valued, which is instrumental in the success of Campus Management and the entire Polytechnic community.
Rob has been committed to learning and creating new efficiencies to improve the daily operations of RDP. Rob has demonstrated the Polytechnic’s values wholeheartedly. He has been committed to agility, bravery, connection, discovery and empowerment.
He has made tremendous contributions to Campus Management and will continue to play a role in advancing the priorities of the Polytechnic.
Nicole Dawe
Nicole Dawe has made immense contributions to RDP in her role as Accounts Payable Technician.
With a diverse skillset, Nicole has exhibited careful attention to detail, which is imperative to the success of the Polytechnic’s Finance Department.
Nicole has effectively collaborated with colleagues across Red Deer Polytechnic, displaying kindness, thoughtfulness and a sense of humour in her daily interactions. She has helped organize celebrations for colleagues, including the recognition of workplace milestones.
In addition to excelling in her role, Nicole has contributed to initiatives outside of Finance. She has worked to enhance the Polytechnic’s Green Campus Community Garden, allowing colleagues and the RDP community to benefit.
Raelene Johnson
Through her role as Administrative Officer, Raelene Johnson has consistently demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, organization and high-quality work in Continuing Education and Corporate Training.
Raelene has helped to create an inclusive environment for both learners and colleagues. With a commitment to personal and professional growth, she has eagerly sought learning and skill development opportunities.
Raelene has enthusiastically contributed to inter-departmental events, such as the Future of Work Career Fair and Conference, BILD Central Alberta Home Show, RDP Spring Open House and RDP Education and Career Expo.
With strong interpersonal skills, Raelene has worked to foster positive workplace relationships and productive work environments across the Polytechnic. As an invaluable asset to RDP, Raelene’s contributions have been commendable and impactful.
Brianne Nettelfield
Brianne Nettelfield has exemplified RDP’s values in her role as Development Consultant.
Along with demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional growth, Brianne has eagerly collaborated with colleagues and departments outside of the Career Education and Experience Development (CEED) Centre.
As a leader, Brianne has displayed strong interpersonal skills that have helped contribute to a respectful, welcoming and efficient work environment. Her expertise and contributions have been invaluable in the success of the Annual Career and Education Expo and Future of Work Event. Brianna has also engaged faculty and staff in health and wellness opportunities, organizing a Faculty and Staff Dodgeball game.
In addition, Brianne has worked hard to launch Riipen, a work-based learning platform to help students, instructors and organizations collaborate on industry projects, connecting post-secondary education with employment.
Keleish Walkine
