Russian State University of Tourism and Service (RSUTS) was founded in 1952 as a Higher School of handicraft cooperation.
Now University is one of the leaders among the Russian higher educational institutions, which train professionals in the field of services and tourism industry.
RSUTS is a full member of: The International Tourism Society, The Board presidium of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy Ministry, Tourism and Small Business Development Committee of RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coordinative Council of Tourism Development under Moscow Government, Inter-departmental (RF Ministry of Education and Ministry of Tourism) Commission on Personnel Training in the field of tourism.
RSUTS is a very large and modern University. It has 5 departments
Economics Department, Service Department, Law and Social Studies Department, Technology and Design Department, Tourism and Hospitality Department.
The University is represented by its 15 branches

Teaching staff numbers around 2 710 people, 1 511 of them have a scientific degree or an academic status: doctors and/or professors.
The University delivers multilevel education
- vocational education (2-3 years); - higher professional education: bachelor (4 years), - postgraduate education: master (2 years) and PhD; -vocational training and retraining for professionals.
Today there are about
47000 students from Russian Federation as well as 1800 foreign students from the former Soviet Union countries and overseas.
This includes
21000 full time students,
25000 part time students and 1000 students on distant learning.
RSUTS is a main methodological union of service and tourism curriculum design which leads educational institutions of Russian Federation specializing in tourism and service training.

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS DEPARTMENT RSUTS together with International Business School (Budapest, Hungary) and Oxford Brookes University (Oxford, UK) develops joint educational programs. Students studying and successfully completing joint program towards BA in Business Studies would receive two diplomas.
