On top of all that, she has homework -- on Christmas Eve! -which involves writing a book report on Alice in Wonderland. While reading, Alice becomes drowsy, sees a White Rabbit, and follows it down a rabbit hole, plummeting her into Wonderland in the middle of winter. Now it's up to Alice, and many of Lewis Carroll’s iconic characters, to restore Wonder to Wonderland. Rumors

As their tenth wedding anniversary party commences, Charlie Brock, Deputy Mayor of New York City, seems to have just shot himself through the ear. Now he lies bleeding in the master bedroom and his wife Myra is nowhere in sight. The first guests, lawyer Ken Gorman and his wife Chris, scramble to get “the story” straight before the other guests arrive. As the confusions, cover-ups, miscommunications, and rumors mount, the evening spirals into a classic farce. Neil Simon is the renowned master of American comedy. In Rumors he shows how even the rich and famous can be driven to ridiculous behavior when confronted with a possible scandal or even the “rumor” of a scandal.

Ride the Cyclone

In this hilarious and outlandish musical, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. When they awake in limbo, a mechanical fortune teller invites each character to tell a story to win a prize like no other — the chance to return to life. With an eclectic score and witty dialogue, Ride the Cyclone is a funny, moving look at what makes a life well-lived

Join us Dec. 12-13 for a pay-what-you-can holiday event! From the great American short story teller O. Henry, three tales for the season. In “The Cop and the Anthem” all Soapy wants for Christmas is 90 days in a nice, warm cell with three meals a day. But a bum can’t get arrested in this town.

In “Love a la Carte” a landlady puzzles over the romance of her favorite tenant, Sarah. Something seems to have gone terribly amiss. Then Fate takes a hand.

In “The Ransom of Red Chief” a pair of scalawags hatch a scheme to kidnap and ransom the son of the town’s wealthiest citizen. What could go wrong?

No tickets to buy, no reservations to make, just a donation jar for this pay-what-you-can event.

Don't miss the return of Charles Dickens in Rockford Players Guild's upcoming production of A Christmas Carol, running December 17-21 at Cheek Theatre! This one-man, one-act play is the perfect way to get in the spirit this festive season! Experience this classic holiday tale with your family and friends while enjoying complimentary hot chocolate and treats!

Charles Dickens' 1867 American Reading Tour is off to a rough start. Due to an inexplicable loss of his luggage, he regretfully announces that he will be unable to read from his beloved classic, A Christmas Carol. All is not lost however; Dickens delivers what he promised by performing from memory the magical story of Ebenezer Scrooge's journey from miserliness to redemption with warmth and humor. This one-man play is based on the condensed version Dickens himself used on his historic reading tours of the United States.
