Adopt a Shelter Dog Month
Did you know that October is Adopt a Shelter Dog month? Every day there are countless abandoned, neglected, or abused dogs in community animal shelters awaiting their forever homes. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) sponsors Adopt a Shelter Dog Month every October. The American Humane Society also celebrates a month-long October campaign encouraging the adoption of shelter dogs from the more than 5,000 animal shelters and rescue groups in this country. Animal activists make it a priority to match each dog with a compatible owner and environment to support the dog’s best second chance at a loving and stable forever home.
