PhilFranklinhaslivedinPNGonacontinuousbasisforover40years and as such his knowledge of PNG is substantial.

Phil is a graduate from the Australian National University with a B Sc.in forestry.

He has been involved across a broad industry base including forestry, agribusiness, food manufacturing, road transport, rural agricultural enterprises, resource industry support and property project development.

During this time, he has developed an extensive network of contacts spanning a wide cross section of private sector operators, government statutory bodies, local, provincial, and national governments, NGO Donor agencies and peak bodies. He has worked or travelled recreationally through most provinces and has an exceptional understanding and knowledge of the Morobe Province.

Phil was the Australian Honorary Consul Lae PNG from 1993 to August 2013.

He has been elected to senior positions on several peak bodies including the Presidency of APNGBC(PNG), Secretary PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Through these positions he represents the private sector on government boards and statutory authorities including Deputy Chairmanship of the Investment Promotion Authority. He is currently Chairperson for the Host Organising Committee (HOC) for the PNG Games to be held during November 2014 in Lae.
