Communications and Information Access

Ravenscroft has a team dedicated to communications, community and marketing that works in partnership with all facets of school leadership. Our communications platforms include emails, our website (ravenscroft.org), social media channels and, for urgent communications, text messages. If you have questions about school communications, please contact Jennifer Davis, Director of Communications, Community and Marketing.

Here are a few essential communications tools to get and stay up-to-speed on what’s happening at Ravenscroft.

Urgent and/or Emergency Notifications Ravenscroft will notify you via email, text and voicemail in the event of a campus emergency.

In the event of inclement weather, Ravenscroft publishes information and updates through the following channels:

School website: Ravenscroft.org

Ravenscroft social media channels: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Direct text messaging

Schoolwide emails

Weekly Calendar Each Friday during the school year, the Weekly Calendar is delivered to your email inbox. The Weekly Calendar includes at-a-glance information about upcoming events, activities and volunteer opportunities. Information is organized into categories (schoolwide announcements and events, athletics and fine arts events, and individual divisions) to help you find relevant information quickly and easily. Campus Access, Safety and Security Access-Control Systems The safety and security of our students, community and campus are of the utmost importance to Ravenscroft. Our Director of Protective Services oversees all aspects of campus access, safety and security. Ravenscroft uses a keycard security system for all academic buildings on campus. Parents, volunteers and guests are required to check in at the front office of the Lower School, Middle School, Upper School and Keim Center when visiting those academic buildings.

Students in grades six through 12 use electronic access cards to enter buildings. They receive their cards on the first day of school. More Ravenscroft Reports This monthly e-newsletter highlights news and stories from across the Ravenscroft community and helps families stay connected to the exciting things happening with students, faculty and staff, alumni and more.

News Alerts Our communications staff also sends out email news alerts whenever there’s news about students, faculty and staff, alumni, or any of our outstanding programs, clubs and teams. Subscribe to receive news alerts on topics of interest to your family. News alerts are also visible in a feed on our website.

Veracross Veracross is our school information system that provides families access to important information, documents, news, calendars, report cards and invoices. Students in third through 12th grades use Veracross in a variety of ways. In our older grades (fifth through 12th grades), students use Veracross to engage with teachers and access class/course syllabi, assignments and schedules.

In the event that you need to reset or recover your password, you may do so by contacting our Technical Support team via helpdesk@ravenscroft.org or https://accounts.veracross.com/ravenscroft/accounts/forgot_password.

instagram.com/ravenscroftnc/ information on the use of these cards will be shared with students at that time. In the event a card is lost or damaged, there is a fee for replacing it.

In addition, with a continued focus on keeping our campus as safe as possible, we require yearly background checks for any person who will serve as a volunteer on our campus or work with our students. More information about the background check process is available on the parent portal and at Volunteer Policy and Information. If you have any questions regarding the volunteer policy, please email volunteer@ravenscroft.org.
