DESCRIPTION Multiagro S.A. is an industrial and commercial company dedicated to the processing of forest products that are directly obtained from the producers and, after processing, are commercialized in the local and international markets. The Forestry Program is carried out in pine nurseries located at specific areas of impacts, all of which are on the southern mountainous areas of Cochabamba. Thus, the project area is placed on the Easter Andean chain of mountains. There, the topography is irregular, dominated by hills, ravine, and valleys with intermittent mountain streams. The altitude of these areas range from 2,000 to 4,000 m.o.s.l. More than 30,000 families have participated in the Forestry Program. They eventually will benefit from the revenue resulting from the exploitation of the existing plantations. Multiagro S.A. trades sawn lumber in different thickness and widths from 3 to 10 inches and lengths from 2 to 9 feet, treated in high technology kilns. The company exports since more than two years urns and coffins to U.S. market. It has a fully equipped workshop that makes possible to manufacture any furniture or construction structure request (e.g. door frames, wooden floors, window frames, etc.), made with first class finishing. At present it is processing products for Green Building (S4S wood, socles, tongue and groove, frames, etc.), certified pallets under NIMF 15 standard and boxes for wine bottles.

Cimal/IMR fue la primera empresa de Bolivia en obtener certificación de buen manejo forestal bajo los principios y criterios del Consejo de Manejo Forestal (FSC por su sigla en inglés), liderazgo que en la actualidad mantiene en todas las operaciones de manejo forestal que opera. La filosofía de la empresa es dar valor agregado a los productos del bosque, con ello beneficios al medio ambiente, las comunidades y sus trabajadores, generando una operación técnicamente viable, socialmente benéfica y ecológicamente sostenible. Cimal posee una amplia red de ventas en toda Bolivia, promoviendo la comercialización de los productos que genera.
