‘Yevgeny Sudbin is already hailed as potentially one of the greatest pianists of the 21st century.’ the daily telegraph ‘Sudbin's great quality was his acute sense of characterization, conveying not just the letter of the music through his consummate technique, but also its spirit through his intuition and inspiration. Any chance to hear him should be snapped up.’ geoffrey norris, the daily telegraph

‘the phrasing was to die for and the notes in diminution were strings of pearls: it was outrageously wonderful! Iuventus Ensemble Haydn Mozart Schubert

String Quartet Op.33 No.2 The Joke Newc to Black omer Clarinet Quintet thorpe Barn 2011 String Quintet in C major D956

Ruth Rogers violin, Elizabeth Williams violin, Rebecca Low viola, Jesper Svedberg cello, Joely Koos cello, Thomas Hull clarinet The brilliant Iuventus Quartet has now formed an ensemble for larger scale works bringing in other superb musicians, whilst performing to the same exacting standards.

‘One of the striking things about the Iuventus Quartet is the absolute rapport between the players. They are an ensemble in the strictest sense and the sheer pulse of their playing is dictated by the slightest of eye contact and by split-second knowing looks. But the most telling of all is the body language. The members of the quartet are so obviously enjoying every moment of what they are doing that this ‘joie de vivre’ transmits itself to their audience.’ preston witts, stratford-upon-avon herald Biographies can be found on our website

Skampa Quartet Schubert Shostakovich Dvorák

Quartettsatz D703 String Quartet No.3 in F major Op.73 Quartet in A flat major Op.105

ˆ

The Skampa Quartet is among the very finest of an outstanding group of current Czech string quartets that has represented their country in major concert halls around the world for twenty years. Through their mentors, the legendary Smetana Quartet, they trace their roots to the earliest quartets - such as the Bohemian Quartet - in a land described in the 18th century as the Conservatoire of Europe and that remains, to this day, the very cradle of european chamber music.

‘The group exhibited wonderful musicality and an amazing sense of interpretation. They brought passion and excitement to their playing and their interpretations were perceptive, intelligent, lucid and thoughtful. The Skampa is indeed a quartet that will be around for a long time.’ desert news, salt lake city

Eastern Angles presents

Up Out o' the Sea by Andrew Holland

In a small town on Suffolk’s eroding coastline, life goes on pretty much as usual until Carrie arrives investigating a 30-year-old lifeboat tragedy. As lost lives and loves are dredged to the surface the past becomes clearer and locals learn to face up to the future… Suffolk-based playwright Andrew Holland was introduced to Eastern Angles through the National Theatre Studio. “We are really excited by Up Out o’ the Sea – we love the mix of characters and the poignant way a previous tragedy can throw a shadow over succeeding generations” Ivan Cutting, Eastern Angles’ Artistic Director
